A few things that I've learned about growing in coco with a drip systm DTW

At peak flower, expect them to drink as much as a gallon per day, per pot. How often do you want to replace your feed tank? I would go at least 50 gallon if you have the space.

That's my only problem, space is limited. I would like to go a week at a time between refills. I may do just 12 plants instead I'm not sure. This is my first run on a 4x4 table and will be my first automated run.

Pot size will only minimally affect your juice needs, if you want the same weight. It makes little difference if you do 4 plants, or 16; expect up to 15 gallons per day at peak of flower. Can you do a res under the table? They have some that stack under a 4x4 tray IIRC...

No, my table is only about 10" off the ground. It will be outside the tent that I'm growing in. I'm going to see if I can fit a 55 gallon drum somewhere.

I have been doing 16 in a 4x4 for a long time with a 40 gallon rez no problem. I feed 3 times a day for 1 minute and it works out to appox. 1/2 gallon per plant per day.

im converting into my first coco grow now. i am vegging the first clones out now. basically im thinking 4 plants per 1k light with co2 and ac. i have a galcon 6 zone propagation timer that lets me feed 4 x a day timed in seconds. i am running it with a pressure sensing grundfos 1hp booster pump feeding octabubblers manifolds. they each run 8 1/4 inch lines to fanjet 360 sprayers with tophats to direct the spray down into medium. dtw with 10% run off with 6/9 gh micro/bloom, dripclean, sm90, hydrogen peroxide, and either cal/mag or epsom if needed plus silica. i am thinking optimal results would be anywhere from 1.5-2.5 per light, meaning that each plant would be a whopping 6-10 oz plant. should i look at going to 3 gal pots?
and before everyone blasts my 2.5 prediction i am under no illusion that i will achieve that, its just the top yield i know has been done. any constructive input appreciated. i know that pot size has a lot to do with how well the roots take over a given pot with how many intervals are needed. since i can only water 3 times a day if i water at night should i shoot for a 3gal or should i rock the 2s and hope 3x feed per lights on is enough.

oh and the strains are pretty far across the spectrum but weigh heavy on one side.

Hydrogen peroxide in coco? That will kill the trichoderma, which are the bennies that come in coco. Why do you want to use it?
The other thing: if you want to maximize your yield, go with Hempy buckets. They blow away any other type of pot by a mile, and are foolproof & simple.

i had a little funk going on and was trying to clean up the rez. plus there was a little bit of root die off at the beginning due to a lapse in water when they got ahead of me. just trying to clean er up. scrubbed and bleached rez earlier today. uppotting out of 4 inchers into 1 gals of coco and hydroton tonight. reinoculating tomorrow and also relying on the new gal of coco to reinvigorate the micros.

When you up-pot, the new coco will have trichoderma.
Next time, try Aquashield instead of H2O2. It will overwhelm the bad guys with bennies.

Just the specific info I was looking for thanks buddy this helps me greatly.

Man! That would be perfect to stuff under my table only problem is I'm in a 4x4 tent and that reservoir is 50" long. It might fit barely but wouldn't leave me room for a catch pan. I'll figure something out now that I know how much water I'll be using.

dropped the h2o2 on your advise :tiphat:flushed bagged roots coco palms brand coco. rinsed it five times before getting it down to .6 ec. explains my weird lockout in the beginning. i didnt rinse or check runoff till days later. this time i rinsed the shit out of it and once i descided the remaing e.c. must be from the few little ingredients they supplement thier coco with. i charged it with nutes watered down to .4 ec from the 6/9 recipe and then added i mil per gal botanicare cal/mag to final volume. this morning i raised e.c. and trickled in a little .7 ec again with cal/mag and silica 1 mil (dynagrow) but i think im going to drop the cal mag and see how it does now that the coco has been rinsed and charged. ph. 5.8-6.0 hydroton sammy on top and bottom inch of pot.

That's a lot to go through.
I'm glad I can get Canna bagged. Ready to use out of the bag, no rinsing or charging necessary.

Anyone have experience with botanicare coco?

I switched from atami b'cuz and seemed to get some burn or deficiency on the lower leaves when I planted into botanicare coco right out of the bag, but my nutrient ppm was a little high going in also..

I used the botanicare moisture and liked it ok. Liking canna better though.

I am still not getting that explosive root growth from my vegged plants, currently I take clones directly to 1.5gallon pots, Canna coco, hand water as needed till they are about 18" then flip em.I am getting great yields, but think I could do better if I had that robust root growth. Ideas?

Put them in smaller containers. In a large container the roots run to the sides and spiral if it is not a root pruning pot. This leaves the center to go stagnant. By moving them up threw the different pot sizes the spiraling will happen in the dead zone you are getting by using to big of a pot. More roots in the center makes a happier plant.
