Terp tom, Gavitas DO NOT fall into the 50wpsft rule of thumb, people are lighting up 4x6 (i have heard 5x5) areas instead of 4x4 with 1000w gavitas. Lots of folks seem to burn their plants from having the lights too close.
HTH

These folks are not paying attention to their plants, i've done air cooled, bare bulb and now Gavita which is now my personal choice due to the penetration, i do, however, keep my lights 36" from the canopy.

Does anyone increase/decrease pulse frequency/duration as harvest approaches?

I've read some bad reviews for Friedrich manufactured products. I see fujitsu has a ceiling system, which would be much better fit for my application.

Also, I saw somewhere that you can get some rebate for purchasing a seer product or something?

You said you installed yourself Grow? No way I would do that, I'll likely gut the room and hire someone, I'm assuming it would be much cheaper to hire for the friedrich install?

Is there one mini split that can control heat/cooling/dehumidifying?

Thanks

Tom,
I did not change pulse frequency at all and i'm a week and a half from harvest with zero issues.

Not sure about the reviews, but i did not order directly through Friedrich, instead i purchased through Total Home Supply...

http://www.totalhomesupply.com/Friedrich-Breeze-DIY-Mini-Split-s/19075.htm

Cheaper? hell no! those guys will come out and install it for $250 and in 15 mins and be stoked that the job was so easy yet the labor is still the same.

These guys at Total Home Supply were great, and because of Friedrichs awesome warranty
they sent me a brand new air handler for free in record time, i still have the first one that is still usable too.

I have absolutely NO experience with HVAC or installing a mini split for that matter, this was actually my very first install ever. I chose this one because of the reviews here in this forum when i inquired about my first mini.

i did install this with no help either, just unroll the lines, mount the air handler, connect the lines (quick connect) to the condenser and boom! installed in about 45mins, although the videos showed people doing it in under 30. I have not seen a bad review yet. mine is still running strong too and i'll never have to charge the lines when i move it to a new location.

Your using 600ws right?

Yessir! just through flower, I wanted to get vegetative growth as quick as possible so i used two 600w lights, after seeing what they did i dropped to one. The distance i use above the canopy is for running 1000w, i'm just being cautious.

This run i stopped CaNit at week 5 and started hydroplex with jacks. I like to start an early fade to make sure it smokes clean

Yup looks great Grow4Flow, nice color. I get nothing but compliments on my flush...using a perpetual which gets no flush a la D9.

TT believe me wide pots are not necessary for good yields. I've yet to dial my setup in 3 1/2 gallon top and bottom buckets and of 30 or so plants going thru the room only 3 have been under a pound and one of those was 15 1/2.

It appears I may have nitrogen toxicity... Initially I thought Broad Mites, but these are from seed and I maintain a clean room.

This is at 35 days.... SLow development...

I have not changed the solution for ~ 1 month and it has remained around 750 PPM (even though I am inputting ~550 PPM via Gravity reservoir). I am going to change the reservoir, but what should I mix the jacks @? I wish to achieve 1.2 EC and have a bluelab truncheon meter to measure.

THanks.

TT,
I won't pretend to know what is wrong with your plants, but i would like to think that you would see a drastic color change in the leaves with N toxicity. I would definitely dump the main and feed rez and flush your plants for a few hours with fresh water, no nutes.

So you have nutes in your main rez as well that tops off the feed rez? I wouldn't put nutes in the Main rez if that's the case. in flower i started changing the rez weekly. Sticking to the 1g/gal of Jacks hydro to .67g/gal of CalNit. Eventually dropped the Calnit to finish off.

But definitely flush those girls

How many are producing a myriad of strains in one collective reservoir in a PPK? I know d9 grew about 3-4 differing?

With the continual release of new genetics I don't believe I will ever be capable of monocropping... How feasible is it to run 3-4 different strains off one perpetual PPK reservoir? Would I be better off utilizing Coco or soil at this point?

In my 12 plant ppk I have 6 different strains. I have vertical bulbs and so far its working out great! Luckily the strains all have similar growth tendencies. NYC Diesel, Master Kush, Cherry Pie, Grapefruit, Skywalker (not skywalker OG) and a local strain called The Don. They are just about to get flipped so we'll se what happens during stretch ect. Variety is the spice of life!

TerpTom - I hate to say this but my diagnosis of your photos is broad mites. Its a tough diagnosis from this far, but i see classic signs of bm's...Lord a mercy, I hope it ain't

Wow 9 days since my last post and 9 posts since then, looks like the thread is dying....

TT I agree with your diagnosis on your leaf curl. I have 10 positions in my room and no 2 plants are the same strain running perpetual. I have gotten into the habit of changing my res if I note anything unusual. I'd say I average changing it out once every 2 months.
