Yes Schrews , I am all for people having bountiful gardens with big returns of quality medicine that is constantly in demand.

You again show your limited range saying clubs rename blue dream or even using a club market paradigm to argue weather or not so done should grow BD at all...a garden like mendo420 could supply a club for most of a year..unless you're a mega club like harbor side you're not moving through more than three units per day...so how much of any one thing do you expect these storefronts to work with? And how much are they producing themselves.

A majority of California outdoor ends up elsewhere...and ALL those export markets ask for blue dream by name because it's a relatively consistent product across a range of farms ...

Have a great year mendo420...the spring has been treating you right.

Are you going to do your patch with the 400s?

i dont recall mendo saying he is shipping his crop out of state, but assuming he is then i guess go with whatever the market wants. Cali is a different story.

considering the options available, i think it would be a shame to dedicate half the garden to Blue Dream, but if money is the main goal and Blue Dream is the most profitable then go for it

i dont think Blue Dream is a wonder plant like most think it is... around here a lot of people had issues with that strain last year. climate dictates strain selection and my climate likes broad-leaf strains

Most growers in your part of the state suck though.

Humboldt Trinity Mendo started this industry and we will take it in to the future.

Blue Dream had it's place.. That time has gone, there are many other varieties that are dependable just like the dream.. Guys that are buying large packs don't want anything that resembles BD anymore. This is coming from a guy that used to mono-crop BD. It's a beautiful plant that you can depend on, but people want something that packs more of a punch in the high and flavor department.

BD is a great strain, it has just turned into the song you hear on the radio everytime you get into the car. Give her a break and bust that shit out in a few years and people will most likely have a demand for it. No Everyone in Mendo does not need to grow Blue Dream this year to have a successful crop... Use your gardening skills to produce something even better:)

The question I would be asking myself is....

Do I know and grow good pot?
If the answer is yes, then the next question should be......

What do I prefer to smoke, and what do I prefer to grow?

If the answer is blue dream then the answer is blue dream. Mendo's got this handled either way, no doubt.

Mendo, you should get your hands on some gg#4 maybe. Been lots of talk about how she could produce like BlueDream does. I got a cut, but wont be able to plant for a bit still. I'll let you know after the season is over how she yields when being thrown out from clone size June 1st.

I would go with variety. Blue dream is ubiquitous and most clubs already have it

Thanks everyone for the input!!!

I still get asked for Blue dream in Novenber and Sour Diesel.
I still have not gottn a good sour D.

The Blue dream s1's are nice. I never get a complaint. Their are a few phenos and the thicker leaf plants are nice.
Their is some variety with them, buds stack nicely and they trim up easy!
some trimmers told em to call a pheno blue kush because it was just dank.
All good in my book.

Thanks Bulldog420!
I love this approach and it's what I normally use.

What I like to smoke is what others like.
And if you don't too damn bad, smoke it anyway!
I also get your weed is to strong for me do you have any thing not so strong.

That would be skywalker, that shit is dank indica buds with a sweet fruity smell and taste and a punch!

Oh And og kush and fire OG.
I should cross the fire OG with the sky.
holy mother of crosses I did!!
fire OG x SKY fuckin brilliant cross! :tiphat:

Blue dream just don't get me high. My tolerance is way up I guess but its tastes good and everyone likes it. I grow it for the market.

some day i may get the GG#4.
But I would rather create the next GG#4!
And am on my way to do just that!
Fire x Sky just sayin.
Or Gsc x bubba kush s1?
or blue dream s1?
Just sayin.

I like to grow what people want. That is why I asked and really value the input.
I also don't like the tail wagging the dog. And like to make my own trail.

Woof!

I guess you just don't know the right ones. I see stuff from all over the west coast and Colorado, and there is good growers and shit growers everywhere. Consistently best grower I have ever seen in the last 10 years grows small, and is in SoCal.

Backyard Farmer you just got added to the ignore list, congrats troll..

mendo, thanks for answering my question. Would you mind sharing a bit more detail about your plant support system? mainly What size cages do you use to support the big plants? i remember last year you posted pictures of tall skinny cages in the middle of the pots.
