We now have humidity on demand!

We now have humidity on demand!

I have a leaky quick connect, and will have it replaced tomorrow. I will also be building a tower for the exhaust from the unit. I am thinking, up 3 feet to a tee, each tee would tee off with 45 degree elbows to direct the humidity in 4 opposite directions. Another thought, is to have the humidifier outside the room, and using solenoids, control when and where I need humidity. But if I go that route, I will likely buy one of the larger units. This unit vaporizes 3/4 of a gallon per hour, and I think they have some that do 2-3 gallons per hour for large greenhouses.

I will get some shots of it in action when I update Alpha tomorrow, or later tonight.
Here is the best VPD chart I could find. You can see, the higher the temps, the higher the RH needs to be. If I am running cO2, my temps are close to 90. I want to get them down to 85, but that will have to come in time.

Time to start brewing tea now that I have my RO unit hooked up!

I have two plots to fill this year, each 15 x 40. The one onsite will be built into a GH as I finish up the early round in September. Then it will be 3+ crops a year...

The green eyed robot...

I needed more intake! I have one more window to finish, and I have a third I can convert if needed.

The duct work should be easy enough, except where I need to go through an aging roof. At least I am a retired roofer...
picture.php

The next room to fill will be Bravo in 5 weeks. 24 plants total, so far, 12 will be Glue! I have a few more that may root in the next day or so, and will add them as well. I will have almost a whole room of Glue, and I don't care if my patients get sick of it lol...

Also whats app with your girlfriend- previous grow operation investor?

:tiphat:
I told her no feelings, and she couldn't help herself... I repeatedly told her that a "relationship" as understood by most, is not a possibility. She still comes around when I allow it, but my desire to remain single is reinforced daily. I have absolutely ZERO tolerance for drama, and have no desire to be responsible for someone else's self worth. I am prepared to forgo women in general for the next couple years, I have a booty call when needed...

Looking sweet man! I'm about to order some of the og biowar. I'm just about done wiping out Ra's, and the og biowar is the only thing I feel comfortable using in my perpetual ebb and flow to get rid of them fuckers. I see that your deadhead makes lots of fan leaves as well, if your already removing them. That's what I love about the DHOG I run. I can defoliate on it like a mofo, and it just keeps on jamming'...........carry on with the show sir, carry on!!!!

Glad to see you took care of the RH! Wont 85 still be on the warm side?
Thanks for keeping us posted, great pics.
Shamelessly stolen from another source... It is my understanding that the increased CO2 increases the max allowable temperature.

"Temperature, humidity, and CO2 concentrations form a triangular relationship in a greenhouse or indoor grow. If all 3 factors are not in equilibrium, there is a risk to the plant in terms of stunted growth, toxicity, or death/disease.

Standard growing conditions typically include concentrations of CO2 at 300-500 ppm, temperatures between 65-80°F, and relatively low humidity (20-40% rH). Studies have shown optimal growth and yields at 90-95°F, 1,500 ppm CO2, 45-50% relative humidity, 7,500-10,000 lumens/square foot of light, and vigorous air movement both above and below the canopy. CO2 enrichment under 80°F, under 7500 lumens/sf, or above 50% humidity is not recommended because plants will not be conducting photosynthesis quickly enough to benefit from the enrichment. "

Thats very interesting, I wonder how this still optimal when there are certain enzymes and metabolic reactions that take place at certain temps. how this still optimal for the plants... can you send the source please?

I don't have any scientific evidence to support his claim, but I do know this.......2 runs ago was one of the best I have had in a while. I have a sealed room with co2. Temps where reaching 88F and the humidity was between 70-80% the whole grow, co2 was always around 1500(dips to 1200 or so and then the burner comes back on). The plants grew better than ever, and the buds were larger and more dense than the last few runs before it. when I read arm's post, all the pieces fell together and I realized why I had such great success. I knew the part about higher temps with lots of co2, but the humidity part was new info. So now I'm gonna try and duplicate the conditions again and see if I can get the same results, or better results. Collective brainstorming, and documentation....works every time, thanks Arm!!!!!

I Googled "maximum temperatures for growing cannabis"... It is not something I have only read once, and anecdotal, it is established practice for greenhouses. The only reason the people use lower RH is the fear of mold/mildew. I have plenty of experience fighting mold/mildew, so I am comfortable it won't be an issue.
It is critical to understand that I am primarily using the fogger during stretch. After stretch, there is enough plant matter to maintain 50-60% RH, and I will be using a dehumidifier from week 3 to finish.
The single most determining factor in dialing in this aspect is optimal uptake of nutrients. Basic knowledge of transpiration will make it clear that when plants have to create moisture, they are taking more from the solution, leaving salt imbalances...

Took quite a few leaves from the Deadhead, and I still can't see the floor! I think she is a strain that requires heavy plucking, or she will block everything but the tops.

Time for the Headband to get a Brazilian!!

I spent the day, on and off, cleaning up the undercarriage of the two lights of Headband. I only managed to get the front 4, but will get the other four tomorrow.
Only about one of four piles of larf that I took today...

More Glue please!

More Glue please!

Got three more rooted, bringing my total to 15 for the next run in Bravo. I will likely take the best 12 for 3kw, and the other 3kw will be OGHC, and most likely Tahoe based on its current performance...

After stretch, the humidifier will be moved to the next room that will need elevated RH. After the canopy fills in, there is enough plant matter to create the needed RH, and the dehumidifier goes online.

Bravo Day 35

Full room

SSOG is getting the boot after this run! I like the genetics, but fucking am so over finicky plants. I suspect it is heat, since this room has been running 80-85 degrees. I have been eliminating a few strains lately, and more will get the chop after this summer I suspect...

Nanners, and mutated node production, no thanks!...

WTF do I bother with a cut like that, when my Tahoe is sold before it is chopped?
