Hey all, Trying to start the ultimate outdoor BB comparison test.

Today I started 87 blueberry beans as follows:

15 x Joey Weed Blueberry (thanks Icon)

30 x Green Path Seeds DJ short BB "F2"

30 x Peakseed Blueberry

12 x Jordan of the Island Blueberry

Next on the list:

MOB (mother of berry) S2 x 20

On the go:

God Bud x OG kush

BB99 x PCK

Durban Poison x PCK

Girl Scout Cookies S1

God bud mix

Looking forward to the upcoming season and making some BB X BB hybrids. I very well might just blast em all with the GPS DJ BB males.

Peace out folks, will have some pics once they start up.

after 3 days of germing in paper towels I am pleased to say I have had some great success, every seed germinated except the peakseed BB which resulted in 25/30 but maybe they will sprout. Seems odd for BB as many have reported bad germ rates.

GPS BB all were growing out of the seeds and were the fastest.

Jordan of the Island's Blueberry where the biggest seeds and most healthy looking.

JW and Peak where nice and healthy as well..

Potted em and throwing em in a cabinet until they can withstand the outdoors.

I'm sure I'll find at least one skunky/sweet BB within the group, Hopefully this will kickstart a breeding project to lock down the most BB traits among them. Being euphoric and having great BB smell/taste would be the most desired traits.

Thanks for posting,

BT

wow i must follow this too, i'm gonna put money on the peak seeds for your #1 keeper
you have a unique opportunity to work a very nice seedline of your own with out bottlenecking

I couldn't bottleneck if I tried lol I hate killing males, Always feel like I might miss something down the road. Females is much easier to pick a favorite. A male can be different everyday you look at it I find.

I plan to breed them all and make a BB line that yields stable results. If a good BB can be found outdoors you can be sure it'll live up to the name indoors.

My money is on the underdogs JOTI or JW. I've ran a lot of peaks gear outdoors and is amazing in every aspect be it vigor, resin, structure, yeild. They have no smell or taste when i grow em.

Sounds like some OD winners! Blue dream would great if it finished in my climate. Not sure the BB's will even finish at 45.

Hopefully if I ever feel I have created the perfect blueberry I'll be sharing with my ICmag friends for sure. Would like to see nothing more than a Blueberry 2.0.

Very interesting, love the high plant count threads. Appreciate you getting this started!

I don't know how anyone can call themselves a breeder and not grow numbers, 87 Is no where near where I want to be. One or two tilled fields dedicated to BB would be sufficient. The current state of canna law unfortunately does not allow people like myself and enthusiasts mentioned above to hobby effectively lol.

Thanks for the interest folks,

BT

My location is a bit less tan 43. and peakseeds BB at least does great outdoors.

Great mold resistance. The fact that most phenos are branchy, with an open structure, small size buds all over helps too.

My climate is coastal/humid.

I'm really interested in your take on the DJ Short and Peakseed BB. I've read great things about both but, I fear they are advertisments :tiphat:

I ran Joeys Blue Apollo and buddy ran his Blueberry. The Blue Apollo was better all around. More blueberry flavor and more potent. I also ran Joeys Sugar Berry and it was B- to C+ level. Between me and my buddy who is always looking for a blueberry strain weve ran alot of "blueberrys". We ran DJs blueberry, Sags Blue Berry, Dank Franks Digiberry, couple san-nies Blue Berry sativas and crosses, Joeys Blue and crosses, Reefermans Blueberry blast and cherry berry, SOL blueberrys, Bogs Blue Kush and BMR, and many im sure im forgetting. Overall there have been maybe 3 keepers out of 100's of seeds. At the moment i got 3 Rems by SinCity and they all smell like blueberry but one has a knee buckling awesome blueberry bubblegum smell and is Sativa dominant which i love. Good luck with your Blueberry fields...

You can almost see the ocean in your BB pics harry, proves how hardy peaks beans are.

Look on the Green path seed thread, they definitely look like DJ BB. GPS doesn't bottleneck either so I will have a good amount of variation. Peakseed BB should be interesting, although I have difficulty getting good flavor from his beans in my area.

The most blueberry tasting was Joeys blue apollo and Reefs blueberry blast. The keeper blue apollo was like blueberry grape candy. The keeper blueberry blast was more fruit blueberry. The blue moon rocks by Bog had a lavender blueberry that was decent to. All three coated your mouth with full flavor.
