I think I came up with a hypothesis to the problem with the plants in the bigger tent. They are not getting proper drainage. I had to put a carpet in the tent to keep the pots away from the cold concrete.

I would also put them in 5gln pots. Autos hate to be root bound even alittle bit.
They would triple in size if you didnt start them in solo cups then t/p to those small pots.
Autos cant stand to be t/p'ed at all. Start the seed in the 5gln pots and let them stay there.
Then stand back and watch them grow like monsters. You wouldnt believe the difference.
Try it next time. Its too late now cuz they are in the cups. Next time, check it out......

I don't have feminized seeds so I start them in 16oz cups to determine sex. Wasting 5 gallon of soil on an auto male would be a complete waste. Also, No room for 5 gallon pots and 5 gallons of soil for autos seems like a waste of soil to me. I've had 3 footers in one gallon of soil.

Some of the plants showed their sex yesterday. 11 plants all together. Only 2 of them had roots that hit the bottom and had a couple rings around the bottoms. Not terribly root bound. The rest weren't root bound and I expect them to keep on growing like nothing ever happened. I'm putting these into those tall cups I found. Going to see what kind of yield I can get out of them.

I've decided that I'm going to put most of the big tent plants outside. I have a big apple tote that I will place them in and put them in the barn with the tractor for a week while this bad weather passes. Supposed to be nice and sunny starting next week and I'll bring them outside over the weekend. This will be the last picture I'm going to take of them until they day they're chopped. Should be about 2-3 weeks.

I've never used anything bigger than 1 gallon pots for autos. I have 2 gallon pots that I will be using with these feminized seeds. The sprouts were placed right into the pots. So we will see if what some are saying is true. If I don't get much more yield from the 2 gallon pots as opposed to starting them in cups and transplanting them to one gallon pots, I won't use the 2 gallon pots again.

Youll should have much bigger plants.
As soon as the roots of an auto touch bottom, and start to circle the pot, they stall big time. Seen it happen too much, and a breeder of autos will tell you the same thing.
Subbed.... and looking forward to some big yielding plants.

Ended up with 24 females all together. Looking like Pink Spyder and Loweezy will be two of the strains I will be making an f2 out of. They are growing fast and vigorous. Blue citrus, spyder and ogre spyder aren't anything special. Growth and vigor are below average in my opinion. I think I will cross the spyder with a pink spyder male though.

One of the g13 diesels germed but didn't continue to grow. I threw the sprout away because it was weak. I have 2 cream caramels, 1 nlxBB, 2 diesel ryders, and 1 g13 diesel. I usually average 8-10oz with 15 plants in one gallon pots. I don't think these 6 plants will come close but we'll see. I have 8 pink bud and 3 blue streak sprouts growing. The two best looking ones will get put in 2 gallon pots with these other females. The fruit salad seeds didn't germinate.

The last time I posted pictures I cut all the bottom growth branches from these ladies. In two days most of these plants almost doubled in size. This sea of green should turn out pretty good. The other 6 seedlings are coming along nicely. Can't wait to see if what you guys said it true. I've never had a auto bigger than 3ft indoors.

I wish they would start flowering and stop growing. This box is only 3.5 ft tall and I'm running out of room. I can't move the HPS up any higher. I knew there was a reason I went back to using smaller containers.

8 pink bud and 2 blue streak. If I get enough females I think I will put two plants in a 2 gallon container. Then put them in with the plants in the big tent. Notice how much bigger the plants are in the cups compared to the plants put directly into the 2 gallon pots. The seeds were put in the cups three days after the one in the big pots. and the ones in the cups are 3-4 times the size.

I have four plants here that will be used to make clones for my outdoor grow. Cotton candy, c99, afghan kush, and frisian dew.

Are the ones in the 2g as close to the light. I really cant imagine bigger pots would actually stunt them if the wet and dry cycles are both the same

Both are 18" from the light. The cups have 250watts of feliz red light fluoros and the big pots have a 250hps and 250 watts of feliz blue light fluoros.
