You should be concerned about 'the homies' in your area. Especially if you are anywhere near where I think you are. I've grown and grew up in North Eastern. Not something I would say is smart, if you think those dudes aren't jumping in and out of yards you haven't had the pleasure.

Obviously knows what he was doing, only took the best tops & left all my electronics, etc alone.

Took him over an hour to break in the door... lucky enough neighbors didn't contact LEO.

If you don't bother them they don't bother you they get drunk screw their hoodrats right in front of my duplex I don't care say whats up keep it pushing they don't bother me I don't bother them. im not latino so making myself invisible will be tough to do they know im here like I said they know how I get down never once has there been a lack of respect most cholos work on a respect system. I have people skills and hood skills if you have those you'll be fine. For the record im not stupid there are plenty of areas I wouldn't attempt this in for various reasons.

there are advantages to growing in the hood(hiding in plain sight) besides overhead costs ...like I said without getting into it im good on any soil if you knew me you would understand i'm not worried about anybody breaking into me and mines if they did they probably weren't aware of me living there. You think I couldn't go grow in some burnt out upper class area like say Diamond Bar/area like all the Asians who get busted on the regular (I grew up in this area of the SGV and know it well) There are a lot of "distractions" in the hood my location is perfect why I kept it so long. Your trashman/mailman smelled a couple seedling plants?? Nobody is breaking into duplexs in the hood its not very lucrative then again I don't leave seedlings out front (wtf??) as an advertisement.

The one outdoor people have to worry about most are the kids under 18 coming around between 3am and 5am...

They seem to be the ones who are always skateboarding or riding a bike on the look all day for easy targets to hit early in the morning. They have no plans of going into the house when what they want is outside... Where I'm at they have to show forced entry to your home before you can shoot them... And even then if unarmed and under 18 it will be hard to prove you were "in fear for your life".

And because they're under 18, usually unarmed, and just in your yard, you cant hurt them and the cops have little they can do other than a slap on the hand... A win win for the bad guys

Alot of what I see are parents turning a blind eye, or even helping, to support the families drug habit :/

Sounds vaguely familiar. Had a two very tense years. Not law enforcement related, although every neighbor but one ratted on me in My first growhouse. Bad neighbor with card, hated my Landlord, decided to take it out on Me. Claimed I must be working for Her.. Wasn't. I paid 1650 a month to live there, in 2004-6..!

It was psychological warfare for two summers. I won both times, but it was stressful. Got a ferocious looking foster dog for the second summer. That worked. The lady who took care of the hot tub (de facto inspector) complained about the plants. The Macho Weightlifter gardener told Me I must be crazy to run a 43 foot long greenhouse, it'll never work, He said, and promptly complained to the LL... A CHP officer living a 1/4 mile down a dirt road - at the behest of the #1 sick neighbor-Prop 215 cardholder, called My Well-aware Landlady directly. "Yes, I know what He's doing." was Her reply. She liked getting that High rent monthly.. Other neighbor called the local police, as the smell bothered Her.. Said it was bad for Her Kids. Even though I was out of Eyeshot. They'd have had to part layers and layers of foliage to see My shit.

No visit ever. Then the Landlady's Bully Boy-friend, (keyword - "Boy") a huge grower - visited Me the day before Harvest with two friends, parking down the forested driveway out of view. Casing the joint. No phone call first as He had agreed months before, and was the legal way to do it, of course - but None of that matters in NorCal, north of PA. I aggressively made them all leave- it was supposedly about picking up a key to a shed.. BS. On October 4th.. I called Him on it. Then because I made Him look bad in front of his servitors, and I am a nice Guy most of the time, He tried to terrorize Me for years. Bothered Me at surf spots where We all had to go, to surf the waves.. Cowardly Criminals all around. Only hassle Ya when they have company.

I fuckin' won, every time.

After that travesty - in the second Year, on My own - I returned from a trip to AMS and LL was envious, apparently. LL decided to put the house on the market after trying to extort 1000 usd out of Me for whatever reason. I would not acquiesce. The 1000 was not agreed upon, previously.
She pulled it out of Her ample Ass. Even though Her Live in 20 years younger BF was a Mega grower, and had 7 figures buried under ground, no doubt due to being there for years with the good strains AND good prices. He probably got a good look at the Greenie on that pre-harvest reconnaissance mission that I thwarted, and told Her that I may actually make some money. AND that He wanted THAT greenhouse to grow in. It was super-nice.

Anyways, the house was put on the market for 750K, never gonna sell.. She said I should still live there, and I could continue to grow in the garage as I had been. "The Realtor was cool," She said.

"No way, No one's Cool" was My reply. I moved out - it was a 10K move all told.. It Didn't sell, so they took it off the market.. The Kids moved in and grew in My greenhouse. It is still there. The prissy-ass realtor is now in prison for a long time, after 6 years - for drugging His 14 year old Niece and raping Her. Yeah, Cool Guy. We need More of them around.

Good thing I made some money, because the first Year, I was ripped by my "partners," basically. My partners took the 8 elbows of Prime Mendo C Cup !st place award winning flowers (and 4 lbs of beautiful Purple Ice)to LA the first year - and bragged about the 6-7K they got for the Chemdog Clone-only - then promptly Bitched Me by giving Me not even 25% as opposed to the 50% that we agreed upon. Claimed they wanted to take the money for the greenhouse (only 3K, at the time) and other associated costs the first year, instead of the second summer as we agreed upon. I basically worked for 25oo a month and went through all that crap to do it.

My Take on it is that I learned a Business that I will take part in for the rest of My life, and that is valuable. Also learned that One Must Control the whole scenario, or get screwed 1000 ways til Tuesday. Possibly,with a good Woman things can be smooth. Good luck with that if She's a difficult American type.

In such a heinous scenario with such larceny, One simply HAS to be isolated and solo.. A Lesson that I continue to learn, even here in the Midwest Indoor scene. No, You cannot have My cut.. No, I will not help You Grow for Free.. Fuckin' Pay Me, nuttin's free, Dudesickle. Assholes abound in the biz, Here and elsewhere. Surrounded By 'em. It's the Canna-way. Drives One crazy.

About 20 years ago I noticed a woman smiling at me, big time, real attractive. I think she was a college friend, this was in SF.

But I had a closet full of plant ladies. Didn't invite her up.

Sometimes I wish I had been less of a secret agent about my hobby. On the other hand, knock on wood, I have no arrest record.


If there was only some kind of test you could give a friendly acquaintance, male or female, to find out their trustworthiness, before sharing your grow-related secrets.

Good plan - Give up what You can afford to lose. Only thing is - it sets up a mindset of Manipulation. Not healthy for the soul personally. Of course, many of the Hats we must wear as growers require that we Manipulate. And sometimes act like a DB.. I do it with full awareness. When in Rome, do as the A-Holes Do.. Or get stepped on. My First partners, the ones who later took Me - left a HUGE stack of 100's on a table before agreeing to work with Me (rip Me later).. I saw the test, and ignored it. Now, the tool owns a Hydro store Back east..

The growing is great, and I enjoy opening a jar for people, but the rest sucks. I can easily assess NorCal 420 people to others now that I am away - and it is completely amazing how flaky, narcissistic, and blatantly selfish they can be. I have NO Desire to be around that energy ever again, although I miss the wonderful geography, as I always say.

Gonna use My brain to earn Money going forward.. Will always grow, but no one cares about such quality anymore. It's mostly for Me.

This is what I used to do. I would have said potential friend over for a session an pull out a couple jars an open them up an leave them on the table for him to check out the nugs my "Cousin got me". Leave for 5 minutes to fetch something, an bring back a total different jar to smoke. Close the jars, an continue with the session. Later I check weight. You will find that most will grab a nug, very few will leave it be an some that leave it are just waiting for a bigger opportunity. Its not fun to know that someone will steal from you, but its even worse to not know.

250 oz for My best Trip-D - - finished my first run with the genetic after the BM attacks... Only four plants, but quite profuse. Pound price will suffer due to the greedy Brokers.. I will break it down myself and take my time. It is too good to give up for pennies. These wankers have never seen anything like it, except in a Magazine, And I took it to 64-66 days. Next Run looking good, ready for 12/12, 30+ pcs - each as large as these four.. Should be a good one, right before Summer comes.. Then Costa Rica for a few hundred waves, and a couple of "Business Meetings."... Great Cut, very happy with it. Not easy to please = Me.
