Terpene Report Breakdown

Hi, Arminius.

Interesting chart. It might be beneficial (long-term) to sort the data into a linear flow chart, or outline, or other graph for simpler readability. Plain text might work, as well, without a `graphical` representation.

While we have no position one way or the other relevant to the data itself, what we found to be particularly interesting were the presentation of the data, in particular the `Benefits et al.` sections. The only `slice` that nearly - appeared - to present the data as a `positive`, or `definitive` was perhaps `Menthol, Camphor`.

Perhaps the data could be interpreted as the presumptive results possible potential to widely differ or vary amongst a large enough `test` group or `population`? Perhaps raw scientific progress (i.e., `transparency`), nonetheless; where absolutes (relevant to descriptions of presumptive results) might be (`delicately`) well considered within the given context? In any event, thanks for sharing the `raw data` .

hi life 45:

When I talked to Sound Co2 a few months ago (a co who does co2 xtractions)
they said that the extract from certain oregon outdoor will smell like pine trees just from plants growing near all the doug FIR trees in the area. The trim would smell like the strain, but the terps from the trees must fall onto the plant somehow because they extract would have a piney taste and smell.

Hi, hi life 45.

See, in general terroir. Vintners might be very familiar with this; viticulture is also considered a `branch` of horticulture; where like principles relating to `terroir` might be applicable to virtually all plants or trees.

Kind reagrds,

If you are refering to the terpene chart, I share your points. The better terpene information can be found in the BJP article linked a couple pages back. It deals with the "entourage effect" that certain terpenes have with cannabinoids. SC Lab's terpene chart leaves a lot to be desired to say the least...

Hi, Arminius.

The graphical chart might be somewhat difficult to read in a linear fashion, but the (`SC`) data itself might actually be sufficient as an `advisory` `label`, if that data were to be considered as part of a `persons` label or other `informational` data about a `thing`. Perhaps enough flexibility there so as not to be considered `written in stone` [sic]. Labels can be interpreted literally` by some, and that might not be advantageous if one of the label items` `results` were to be `proven`, or even `asserted` to be contrary to what the label states. That could possibly lead to other realms where some might actually take the data on a label, or even a `flier`, `pamphlet`, or other `informational data` about a `thing`, potentially provided to prospective `persons` as `literal` - and hold the conveyor of that data to their `literal` interpretation. In such an instance (or context, if applicable), the `flexibility` of the (`SC`) chart might actually be `well written`; as it might appear to be more `advisory` than definitively stating `this is - or will be that`; especially within a larger `test group`, `population`, or context, where there might be a chance of some `persons` that may `experience` differing (or even contrary, or `uncharted`) `results` relevant to the specific `thing` that they may encounter. Similarly, at #811, the term `likely` in describing the associations of discreet `things`, might also be beneficial within the above context. Again, we have no position or opinion one way or the other as to the subject matter or topics. Just cursory observations from a neutral poster about general data sets and possible interpretations of those data sets.

Best,

I had a brain storm, and will be working on my own creation that beats what the lab presents...

First Pics of the New Site!

First Pics of the New Site!

But first, I made a pretty significant discovery with my vacuum oven, and the purging process. A couple of pages ago, I shared a two day shatter run. The other day, I ran three batches, which is the most my oven will hold. I had a lot going on that day, and it was the end of the day by the time I got all three shelves full. The only difference between that run, and the previous run (same material), was that I placed the first two sheets in the oven, and did not place them under vacuum. At the end of the day, I put the last sheet in, and proceeded with the purging process.
After the initial purges, the first two sheets turned into crumble, while that last sheet stayed in a clear shatter form. The critical factor is that, under pressure, the ambient temperature behaves differently. The top shelf in the oven (which is the hottest), is set at 83 degrees. Under pressure, I presume the ambient temperature is lower than at no vacuum. And yes, I am sure I could Google it, but I am not a scientist...
During the previous run, the sheets were only in the oven under vacuum. To summarize, the difference between shatter and wax, is less than 10 degrees...

Anyways, on to the new site!
I moved the rest of my nursery to the new site today, and was able to snap some shots.
Here are most of my mothers, currently in the "kitchen", that I ended up moving to the portion of the lab that you will see later. Just to the left of the photo is the door to Bravo, or room #2.

180 degrees from above, shows the entrance to Alpha, and the future home of my "overflow" mothers.

Just around the corner to the right, is the entrance, and the mother/clone section. I will be placing a 2x4 tray on half of the middle shelf for my pre-veg station. And yes, that is one of two trim machines that I will have at my disposal. I am not sure on if I will use them vs my Bonsai Heroes, but I will give them a try I suppose.

Opposite of the above picture is the drying room/bathroom. Note the drying racks in their stored position above the curtain rods. There are 8 racks waiting to be filled...

Room shots in next post...

...New Site Continued...

...New Site Continued...

Here is Alpha, or Room #1. Each row has 33 plant sites, and three adjustable 1 kw, air cooled hoods. This will be filled this weekend, and the plants will veg until February 1st at least.
picture.php

Bravo has the same wattage, and plant count, but not as clean. This will be the first room I convert to Vert! I am envisioning 6-8 trees, with twice as much wattage...
picture.php

All the hoods are air cooled, and controlled with an adjustable thermostat. The previous operator is a retired HVAC contractor... Currently, there is passive intake, but I am unsure on the air exchanges per hour, and will likely be adding some airflow.
picture.php

60 gal tanks, and ballasts.
picture.php

I am bringing my protege with me tomorrow, and we will be filling Alpha, and taking cuts. I will try to snap some shots...

Thanks Bobble!
Bravo will not be loaded and flipped until March 1st, so I have some time to consider this room's fate. Plant access will be much more difficult in the second room. There is a leak that I have to find, as well as relocate 4 sites so that I can have access to the sub panel without having to reach through plants. Alpha will be left as is for sure, but I need something to push the limits, and am never satisfied with the status quo... The most these rooms have pulled has been 8 units per 6 lights, and I know I can smash that!
I will be loading the first room and taking cuts this afternoon. After I drop off a retainer for my attorney :)

Spent half the day at the new site. Nothing worth taking a picture of, since I was just getting familiarized with the set up. I fired up Alpha, and tested the Ebb and Grow system.
I need to switch out a ball valve on the plumping, and add a float valve to the tank (I was very surprised it didn't have one yet).
The owner is becoming a close friend. He is in his 60's, and could be my father, but does not treat me as a kid like my father still does to this day. His story is pretty amazing, and I have not tired of his stories. 10 years ago, he was found on a job site, rushed to the hospital, and was in a coma for 2 months. The doctor said he would be a vegetable if he came out of it. Nothing could be further from the truth! Aside from occasional stalls in conversation, but he welcomes the occasional nudge to keep him going.
It has been made clear during our conversations, that he is taking a huge leap of faith in someone that he has only known for 3 weeks. My move was unexpected, so I did not have the reserves that would have made him feel more comfortable. He may not have much longer to go, and his biggest concern is making sure his wife is taken care of. If it came to that, I would certainly make sure she is taken care of.
I will be taking my helper with me tomorrow to get the first room filled. All the hydroton has been sanitized, and is ready to go. This should be a nice clean setup. Since my starts are all in 3" rockwool blocks, I am going to forego the coco completely.
If I didn't know about the existing training routine, I was going to have to get a double screen set up for a SCROG. I will be sharing, what may be one of the most brilliant ideas I have seen in years. Think of the netting they use to package Xmas trees...
