hard rain

I am using for lower/mid back pain that is bad enough that it has made my leg numb and almost useless i fall down over it. I have replaced Pain killers, Muscle relaxers and Ibufs with MMJ for the most part.. I had stopped smoking pot for 10yrs before a friend talked me in to trying MMJ and i am a believer... There is bad days and i need some pills but 95% of the time its MMJ..

Just started Juicing with it, I am really wanting to do more with it..
That is almost exactly my experience. I gave up for about 7 years. I developed a bad back problem; had a series of prolapsed discs at around age 40. I was prescribed pain killers (codeine, oxycontin, e.t.c.). I felt I was facing addiction to these so after a bit of research I started using cannabis again. Not only was it great for pain but it helped with the depression I was experiencing with chronic pain. Not a miracle cure by any means but it has helped vastly reduce my pain killer use.

^_^ i like these threads.

top of the list for me: Depression
first time i ever tried cannabis, i was suicidal, had decided how, was gonna do it next time opportunity presented, prior to that, an opportunity to try cannabis came up (thankfully it was cannabis, had it been any drug, even heroin, i would have tried it ~ just because i planned on not being around to become addicted). cannabis gave me the space and peace to think about my problems and the world's problems, without falling into impassable despair.
Cannabis saved my life!

then in no particular order:
Migraines
nothing else ever so much as even puts a dent in my migraines, despite the great extremes i'd go to. cannabis though, it's like a light switch. on/off. instantly switches off the migraine as if it's not there at all. words cannot express. i have cried tears of joy at this miracle off-switch. think of all the most extreme symptoms you've heard of from migraines, i probably had them, and lasting for up to a fortnight.

Anxiety
i have crippling social anxiety, among other forms of anxiety. cannabis has, for years let me get out of the house and have a life. ... big gulfs of time without it, when i dont manage to go out, even to go acquire more, keeping me trapped not only in my house, but in my room, in myself. also, full blown panic attacks are seriously unpleasant. harrowing way to ruin a day.

Asthma
I CAN BREATHE! times with cannabis (even months after having any) i simply dont have asthma. it's like it doesnt exist. more than 2-4 months after having sizable regular amounts, and the asthma creeps back, causing me to need to use my inhaler often.

Eczema
i'm sure this isnt just stress related. i'm sure there's some other biochemistry at work here with the cannabinoids. similar to the asthma, tho the eczema usually comes back quicker, and is never entirely gone.

Raynauds Syndrome
this one is a bit of a mixed bag, with sometimes when i've questioned whether the cannabis has caused an acute short term worsening of the condition (i suspect from the non-cannabinoid matter, but am uncertain). however, most of the time, it does absolute wonders. relaxes the blood vessels, reduces stress... i definately consider cannabis part of the arsenal against this condition. the main reason so, relates to the trouble i have at night. i get really bad raynauds all over, especially my legs. and especially when trying to lay down in bed and get to sleep, legs all in spasm in a mix of constriction of the blood vessels, and in the unpleasantness of blood forcing its way back through dried up blood vessels. incredibly frustrating and upsetting and exhausting, cried myself to anguished dehydrated exhaustion many an unpleasant night with an absurd amount of blankets on me, still fully clothed in bed, waiting for the high doses of ginkgo biloba and b vitamins to kick in. cannabis really helps eliminate a lot of the stress and tension which would worsen the situation, as well as making the whole ordeal less traumatic.

Post Traumatic Stress Disorder
i dont need to say much about this one. obvious how cannabis helps. helps de-stress, brings peace, and helps the natural necessary ability to let go and forget the bad shit, as well as allowing the space to peacefully reassesss things, so that they're not always framed in the most tormenting and terrifying way.

Pain
back pain from twisted spine and other muscular/mechanical/nerve related issues (for which, cannabis is good at helping alleviate the frustration of endlessly tormenting yourself thinking there's a more comfortable position, putting yourself through the pain of moving, only to find out there isnt), reoccurring pains from where i had sheared veins, and from a detached muscle (possibly the worst pain i've ever had, and i had it for months, with bouts of it recurring over periods of years, and still get the odd twinge that sends me into terror at the prospect of it returning full blown.). cannabis a much less toxic, much less addictive, much less inebriating and/or more effective method of dealing with it than the pills. not to mention the side effects are beneficial, rather than worsening other conditions (like problems i have with my stomach, or asthma).

Arthiritis
mine's not that bad... nothing compared with what others have to deal with. but still, it's enough to not be able to ignore, when it gets bad.

Dyslexia
only mildly dyslexic, but it's enough to be a significant hurdle i've had to deal with my whole life. always wondered about how effortless reading seemed to other people, where for me, it took all of my concentration, and i was still slower, and made more mistakes getting in a muddle (~this despite iq tests putting me around the top 10%). wasnt until college that it was pointed out to me. cannabis can really help streamline it though, stops me jumping into the middle of the page so much, and stops me from making my common slips so much (d and g are a particularly common mix up for me, as well as just muddling the order of letters in words). ^_^ backspace is my most used button on the keyboard.

mal-nourishment and lack of appetite
i have a really difficult time eating enough. was never a massive eater, but it got drastically worse through my teens and twenties (esp from damage i did to my stomach with an addiction). life's a constant struggle to maintain weight, and to go through the drudgery of eating, and trying to find healthy foods and a balanced diet i can more easily engage with, and that wont upset my delicate digestive system. with cannabis, this is no longer a concern at all.

Alcohol
>3 years since i've had a drink. i also stopped for 2 whole years upon discovering cannabis and what it did for me back when i was 17 (making my 18th birthday in the pubs some quirky fun ~ having water). while i dont directly attribute cannabis to my quitting alcohol, it has certainly been both a massive inspiration, and an aid in both quitting and remaining sober. ... also worth mentioning, i nearly died (at least) once from alcohol, vomiting while laying on my back, head over the armrest of a couch. was lucky a friend found me in time.

Tobacco
I do directly attribute my current status of non-smoker to cannabis. i would not have managed to go cold turkey without that two ounces and a bong. of course it was a lot of mental preparation and other stuff too. nicotine replacement therapy seems like a sick joke to me... dont folks know that's the principle addictant? you dont see people trying to quit any other drug with that same drug but simply changing delivery method. anyhoo... yeah, cannabis helped me get clean from tobacco after many attempts and a long long battle. ... i wish the cannabis community culture around here wouldnt keep mixing tobacco with it though. ... that's caused more than one relapse in the past. i'm remaining vigilant though. tobacco and raynauds is soooo not a good idea.

Being an Asshole
ok, so this one's added for a bit of fun at the end, but it's still true. i can be such an offensive aggressive arrogant pillock without cannabis at times. i like what a better, more considerate, compassionate, empathetic, peaceful, humble, creative and loving being i am with the herb.

I have Willis ekbom disease and I use a sativa dom cannabis to treat the episodic pain. Nothing and I mean nothing else stops the pain. It's really a miracle substance!

Indica dom strains actually aggravate my disease and brings the pain.

PTSD If it were not for cannabis, I would have bought the farm a long time ago. Cannabis saved my life and for that I am extremely grateful.

Sleep: I've been growing, making RSO, and ingesting it for about a year now. I dab myself every night before going to bed and get 8+ hours of restful sleep. Prior to the dabs of Hemp oil, I would get 4 - 6.

THC intolerance: I first smoked cannabis about 45 years ago right after a particularly horrendous battle in the Viet Nam war. I completely freaked out with over-the-top paranoia, hallucinations, etc. Outside of the occasional token puff, I stayed away from Cannabis for 44 of the following years. Then I saw the Rick Simpson video and became convinced of the medicinal value of cannabinoids and started growing and producing oil for possible major medical threats in my later years (which are now). When I first started dabbing the oil, I would overdose sometimes, even on the half grain of rice size recommended by Simpson for the lightweight user. But it helped me sleep so well that I continued to use it on a nightly basis, usually able to fall asleep before any weirdness came on . In the period of a year my tolerance has increased and I am now ingesting a dab about the size of 2 grains of rice and am becoming ever more tolerant of the THC 'high' to the point that it is finally becoming enjoyable. I am hoping to up my tolerance to the point I would be able to cure a major illness, but 60 grams over a 3 month period still seems way over my head. But at least now I know tolerance can be achieved.

Haemorrhoids: About 20 years ago I got a particularly bad chest cold with a horrible hacking cough that went on for days and days. During this time I blew up a little heaemorrhoid/blood blister on the edge of my 'you know what'. This unwanted protuberance went down when the cough finally abated, but stuck around as a vestigial small lump at all times, returning to it's half marble size every time in the future I caught a cold and had a cough. Six months ago I caught another bad hacking cough chest cold, and the damn thing blew up to full marble size, with about the same hard consistency. The cold started going away and I expected the now rather large 'roid/blister to go away, but in one final coughing jag I felt something funny. I went to the john and checked my shorts and, OMG!, I thought I'd either switched gender and was having my first period, or, more likely, was having an 'anal aneurysm'. I emailed my Doctor and he told me not to worry as there were no arteries down there, and that in time it would probably self heal. So I bid my time wearing some of my wife's 'light days' sanitary pads for about a week, and sure enough there were no further complications. However, remembering a small blurb in the Rick Simpson video about him giving a dab of oil to some guy who was complaining of 'roids', and assuming he had been cured due to not hearing from him again, I decided to try this and try to cure my problem once and for all. So, I put a rice size dab in a size 0 capsule, lubed it up with a little preparation H, and did you know what with it for about 10 days in a row. I am now just recovering from a very similar hacking chest cold as the one that produced the little bubble in the first place, and have had no problem whatever in that area for the first time in 20 or so years. Can't be sure, of course, if the hemp oil did the trick, or my body just naturally healed after the initial bursting of this annoyance, but I do know that the very mellow, relaxing 'high' from ingesting (poop-shootgesting?) the oil in this manner is quite enjoyable. It also seems to open the lungs and make breathing easier. I got this last bit from the tail end of the online book that Simpson sells on his website, which is a very good read.

Nice thread!

back spasms were relieved within minutes of smoking a bit of herb. Results were repeatable so I'd say it's conclusive in my opinion that cannabis can relieve muscle spasms/back pain.

From reading this list, it becomes pretty obvious why the American medical industry is an active member of the War on Drugs.

If cannabis were fully re-legalized, their revenues would drop about 50%.

Cannabis is effective at bringing relief from and curing loads of different serious medical conditions.

Postherpetic Neuralgia. PTSD. Depression.

The PHN is miserable without regular introduction of cannabis. Without it, I require multiple Rx medications - all of which become completely unnecessary when using cannabis...

Nothing like being told you will require a daily handful of different pills for the rest of your life. Literally taking pills to counter-act and prevent liver damage that could be caused by the combination of said pills...

Honestly, if my only option was to live with such debilitating pain or live in a constant blank fog as a Rx zombie - I would have excused myself from this existence...

Cannabis truly saved my life.

it helps tremendously with my arthritis pain/ muscle aches. my arthritis showed in my late 40s, Doc says "it aint going away". company I work for does not allow ANY painkilling medications while on the job, nor can you take them for up to 4 hours BEFORE you get there...needless to say, when they call me to pee in a cup, I am fired.

It sounds like we're in the same boat. I have something called "reactive arthritis", the chronic, progressive type. When I wake up in the morning, I never know which part of my body will not be functional. I am typing this from bed right now, although it's almost 4 P.M. where I am. My back is so stiff/painful, I can barely move. I have always been extremely active, running 6 miles every night of my life for decades, doing yoga, martial arts, swimming, etc, but now I can barely walk. Can't take anti-inflammatories because of stomach issues. So it's either vicodin or herb. Herb helps a lot with the pain and inflammation, but I really don't want to be stoned all the time. Although I enjoy it, it does kind of make me stupid. When I don't smoke, my reading comprehension and writing ability go way up. I'm in a non med state, so have no access to Harlequin or other high CBD strains. Can't possibly work, so had to apply for disability. I have already been waiting 2 long years, but still no hearing date because of so many people gaming the system who have nothing wrong with them. So, in another hour or so, I will be popping a couple of "Vs", and I'll be able to move around a bit, take a shower and check my mail. Sounds pathetic, I know, but that's my reality at the present time. Of course, being in this condition causes depression, so you can add that to the list.
Thanks for posting.

Yes, I have bad arthritis too. You should be able to at least take anti-inflammatories if they don't mess your stomach up too much. But I would not let them bully me at work. Get yourself some synthetic urine online and keep it with you at all times. Very easy to beat a piss test. Get it here:

Asshole-ism.

Just Kidding ! :woohoo:

well, half-kidding.

Well, I still have a-holes trolling me, including one that PMs me daily, even though I asked him not to message me, so that pretty much shoots down that theory.
Now if we could dose the police and DEA, we might be getting somewhere. Those are some major league a-holes, and could use a good dosing. Now that I think of it, I have siblings that could use a good dosing. Maybe that would get their heads out of their asses. If we could get it into the water supply, the whole country would be chill.

where I work, you must change into their uniforms, which have no pockets. you may take NOTHING to the buildings that they did not give you. you wear their socks, their underwear, & you are changing clothes with witnesses. if called for piss test, a supervisor shows up(no notice), escorts you to the vehicle, & drives you straight to the testing site. if you do not produce enough urine within an hour or so to test, you are judged as "non-compliant" & escorted to the gate. yes, I work for Nazis... "I WORKED for Nazis. they got me..."

"changing clothes with witnesses"? Sounds like sexual harassment. You mean you have to stand naked in front of someone that is examining your body? Sounds like prison. I would sue them for that. Is it government, or are you working in "clean rooms"? I once worked in a "clean room", but we had to wear booties and coveralls. No nudity in front of perverts.

So far, I haven't use marijuana to any serious diseases. But I'm happy to hear that this plant is widely use for some chronic illnesses. Medical marijuana? Why not? Hope this will be the answer cure to cancer and other untreated diseases.
