Ultimate 5x5 sealed coco tent

Nice set up! I have a very similar set up except I decided to run 2 600wAtters. and also threw in an environmental controller which Im LOVIN! I wonder how much weight you will pull with your 1000W vs. my 2 600's ;].

how do others deal with run-off/flushing their plants while in a tent? where do you setup a drain?
...high man, i grow in straight coco hempy buckets with either hydroton, grorocks or 3/4inch gravel in the bottom reservoir and SOME runoff is a must, ...it's also just a good idea because it sorta flush's the rootmass with each watering.

picture.php

...anyway, in this space, which is very similar to yours in size, i flower 8 girls per run in 6liter coco hempy's around a single barebulb 600, vertical style and i use Marlo's W.o.W tech to help keep the plants from the light.

picture.php

...here's a couple shots of some re-vegging where you can see the 6liter 'pots' and 'runoff trays' i picked up at the dollar store.

...as you can see they are just cheap, 6liter trash cans and the runoff trays were being sold as locker bins.

...anyway, to deal with runoff all you need is a buckethead which btw, i needed someone to explain to me what that was so here is a picture that will be easier than an explanation.

picture.php

...i hand water every day with Jack's Pro Hydro and with watering and then vacuuming the runoff it takes me about 15 minutes a day, shit practically grows itself.

peace, bozo

Nice looking setup MG75. Nothing I'd change, except perhaps the orientation of your Flame Defender (Major props for using one, I consider them a must, and have 3 of them).
I have the smaller units, but I believe they must be mounted with the discharge valve down, to be effective. If mounted sideways, the propellant gas will vent, without carrying the powder with it. Not good, if you need it!
It's really amazing to me, that more people don't use these units. There is no cheaper insurance!
As for your CO2, I run a similar controller, made by Atlas, that is preset at 1500ppm.
I'm a noob with it, having only run a couple grows in a 4x4x8 cab with it. For reference, my cab is sealed far better than a tent, and I just emptied my 20# bottle in 4.5 weeks. No big deal, as I have read many places that the plants don't benefit from the gas past that time anyway. I just opened the door a crack, and run it as a normal room.
I will be curious to see how your CO2 usage goes, over time. One trick I learned, since my regulator has flow only, and no pressure gauge, is to set my CO2 bottle on a cheapo bathroom scale. I mark the full reading on the dial, and when it gets close to 20# lighter, I know I need more. I hate having the solenoid open for too long, trying to fill from an empty bottle. Those things get HOT, and that makes me nervous :)
Outstanding looking setup and grow, I'll be watching this one!
Regards

if you are going to run a no run off program, in the future, I suggest you use drip clean@1ml/gal.. you can't really just start using it in the middle of a grow, but should be used from start to flush. a lot of the coco growers here use this to prevent nute lock out from salt accumulation. drsmoke, if you are using both ph up and ph down in the same res, this may be why your ph isn't stable; you really should only use one or the other. add a little bit o of up or down until you are where you want to be. some use a silica product in place of ph up when they have used to much ph down

I concur about the drip clean with blu mat use!

I water every other day. the pots are sitting in saucers. i have a little run-off and the rest gets wicked up pretty fast. this is a drain to-no-waste grow. it is too late and it is too crowded to have a better drainage system. next round i will have automatic drip and the pots will not be sitting in run-off.

these are from today and the plants do not seem to mind the no-drain-to-waste watering and advanced sensi coco.

i hope you like the sativa dominant pheno of grape stomper og...

If you're concerned with runoff. I run a very similar setup. I just use a 3X3 flood tray and build a simple tray stand with some 2X4's. Then all you have to do is use the drain from a flood table and a valve on the water line and you've got a really easy drain. Just use some shims to tilt your tray so it drains completely. I've got a long hose that I just run out the side garage door. So I just drain to my outdoor garden.

a little update

there seem to be some lockouts due to no drain to waste waterings. plants are not the healthiest but are coming along with fragrant buds. only time will tell and i already know some of the changes that will come about...

last pic is my male of nepalese jam which will get crossed to the grape stomper x joesph og.
