PPK vert 4 plant 5 light grow show and DIY, 3400w, CO2

No PH monitoring? shoot, i'm game for that, i heard it mentioned before but forgot all about it. already sourcing some buckets for the next grow with PPK. Are you chilling your water, or is that not necessary? does the PPK work best with Jacks? which one, hydroponics or classic?

Thanks dude, gonna read through your build again. do you have vert bulbs on the back side of trees still, or are you just crowding around bulbs now?

i check it every week or two but i only adjusted in the very beginning when i was very new to the ppk. D9 and others have always advocated letting the ph and ppm do their own thing. i use jacks hydro and calnit. cheap, cheap, really cheap lol. it works just as good as anything else ive ever used but seems to be more stable than most.

no water chillers needed here. even if your electricity goes out they can wick up water from the tail pieces. mine are packed with roots hanging out like a foot. ive got a good root ball in each bucket. its pretty impressive. extra safety and peace of mind there. we get shitty storms here and people go without power for days sometimes lol.

if youre like me, the build process is half the fun as long as its smooth sailing. i tend to get frustrated since my city is crap and i have a hard time finding a lot of supplies. if you have good stores around you then you are good to go and could be up and running in your new ppk in days.

remember to use 100% silicone if you need it. dont get anything with added fungicides and chemicals as it could kill your plants. i used it on all my underwater connections and have not had any leaks at all.

im about to build another small system that i can veg in and then simply move the top containers over to the flower system. i want it to house 4-8 plants around a vert 1k and then i can move them off to the flowering ppk's and tents.

if put together correctly, the ppk plants charge through in spite of high ppms or wonky ph, and if left to do its thing, it will sort itself out. the ppms got a little high in my big ppk room this run, but the ph has stayed steady at around 5.8. I just lowered the ec to1.0 when I had to refill the bulk res and it brought them back in line

so like i said.....ive had a lot going on lol. i knew these were getting close, but i havent been keeping track. i checked them tonight and they are all cloudy and about 5-10% amber lol. they last couple waterings have been at half strength and tonight i flushed them with water/molasses. they are going into a separate tent so the other plants will get their fair share of the prime real estate under the 1k. they will come down in the next few days.

these are blue dream that i got locally from cutting. im liking how they turned out really well. no stretch. very branchy, and seems to be an acceptable yield per plant. they feel very solid and dense and the resin production seems to be pretty good. i may do a 8-12 plant SOG under a 1k with these as my next bumper crop if these cure out well.

so i checked the dates and the blue dream are 5-10% amber in exactly 7 weeks! thats a new record for me and they look like they are gonna yield decent too. i think i found a new keeper for sure. ive always heard of strains that finsish in 7 and ive had some that said they did but they always went around 60-65 days. this is pretty awesome.

time to dial this strain in and see what she can do. next try will be in ppk's with horizontal lighting and about 12 under 2 1k's i think. she is too short and stocky to see much benefit from vertical lighting i think. correct me if im wrong, i would like to be on this one lol. vert is the shit

idk if a stadium will be optimal for me right now. i only have the option to run 9 plants at the moment but i will see what i can draw up and if its doable. i have a spare tent thats 6x6 and would be perfect for a small stadium with either 2 600's or 1-2 1k's.

flowering like a boss. i stuck a couple random mosca bubblegums in the corners to test them out.

had to turn the lights down to 300w on the perimeter again. had a few warm days lately. gutting my lung room box built so i will be able to clean and dispose of my hot air as of tonight. i cant wait for that thing to be done so i can run the fan only on the ac unit and cut my cooling in half

are there any given measures for how big a lungroom should be compared to the growarea?

Curiously,

haha i have no idea. this is more of a lung box. its 4 foot hight by 3 foot across and 18" deep. just big enough to house a couple big carbon scrubbers and then the outlets will be directed into the attic where an ozone genny will be set to intervals

spent 7 hours today setting up my damn lung room box contraption. i really hope i didnt do all this for nothing lol. i turned my ac off and just left it on fan only. it seemed to be staying cool in there now that all the hot air is being exhausted into the attic. ,y only worry is that all my ductwork is slowing down my fans quite a bit. they still felt like they were sucking pretty hard in front of each one but i noticed when i leave the door cracked the rush of wind into the tent isnt near as strong. i may have to add booster fans on the exhaust side of the box. i have a spare 6" but i may need to get a spare 8" to help boost the flow. idk wtf im saying right now. i worked 8 hours and then another 8 hours at the garden. im fried.

Don't believe there is a rule per say for sizing them, but most people seem to use about 1/4-1/2 their room size.

I learned long ago that overkill is underrated , and I was taught that lung areas should be equal to sq/cu ftg of the grow areas so as not to build up and recirculate stagnant and unconditioned air......

My basement setups were avg 12'x32' with both flip rooms taking up maybe 64 sq ft each , with a clone/pre-veg cabinet taking up another 12 sq ft tops , for a total of about "double" the amount of conditioned environment that each grow area needed at all times 24/7.......

DH.....Plants getting spread out good with the bare bulbs blastin and each plant receiving light from 3 bulbs at all times , but with the proper hybrid by end of stretch , the top colas should be close to ceiling height for optimum usage of the vertical light and available sideways canopy of potential nuggage......anyways....

Hope yours shoot up some more before end of stretch.....Hope the new pup pup`s doin well , and here`s hopin for a hefty Harvey......

Peace.....DHF....:ying:.....

thanks DHF, i think they still have some stretch in them yet. buds are just barely starting to form and this is a very stretchy strain. only time will tell. my other tent with my rockwool plants has suffered a little bit. i think the neem burned them but they seem to be ok at the moment. i flushed them out pretty good and now im back to normal feeding. im picking up a set of bonsai hero trimmers for the next harvey. im sure as hell nto gonna do all this alone and with plain scissors lol. ive got a small spin pro hand crank knock off that works real good on small buds and popcorn and saves a TON of time on the larf. the rest will be done by hand with the bonsai hero and fiskars.

the puppy is getting big. the craps are getting bigger. the puddles are getting bigger. the mess is getting much bigger lol. she has quadrupled in size since we got her.

so my bonsai hero set will be in the mail tomorrow. i will get some pics and a review up ASAP. my next few arent coming down for another 3 weeks or so but ive got a buddy who may be cutting soon and im sure he would love some free backup lol. the next one im not really concerned about as far as trimming goes. its five good sized plants under 1k. its the tree grow im sweating already and theyre only like 3 weeks in lol. my back hurts just imagining how long its gonna take. between the two bonsai heroes, the trimpro hand crank and lots of pairs of fiskars a few buddies and i should be able to pound it out in a couple days. gonna set up a tent just for trimming to keep the smell down.
