So I need to glue too pieces of 4 mil poly. Anyone have any suggestions?

I was thinking using Hot Glue but I am not sure if it will stick to the poly.

Spray adhesive found at walmart lowes or home depot. Comes in a spray paint can. i've used 3m , dap, an another i other i cant remember. they all work. not need to buy expensive one unless u have serious adhesion needs.

Is it PVC? In that case it either needs to be welded with heat (as suggested) or bonded with a vinyl compatible contact cement. HH-66 by R+H will work. There are others as well. Used to mend tarps, pool liners, boat cushions, etc.

The poly is like the kind you would find painting section at lowes or Home Depot.

Does the poly melt onto the iron or did you use some barrier like foil?
the iron will weld them together. I've never had a problem with them melting to the iron. they just soften up and stick together PERMANENTLY. to make a nice professional looking seam i put the two pieces of plastic across a raised edge like a board. I pressed firm and flat with the iron works great.

I'm confident that you're right, at least with a teflon faced iron & little experimentation on scrap to get the temp right.

As of this posting there has been 3 suggestions for welding the plastic together with a regular clothes iron. Bonding with an adhesive of various sorts gets 6 votes.

The clothes iron is free given you have one or have access to one, otherwise you are looking at spending 10 to 100 buck depending on the size of the poly.

I will give the iron a try first. On scrap.

Any spray adhesive sucks balls outdoors since the sun weakens it.

I found hot glue works well when I was patching some minor holes.
