Gluing two pieces of poly together?

As of this posting there has been 3 suggestions for welding the plastic together with a regular clothes iron. Bonding with an adhesive of various sorts gets 6 votes.

The clothes iron is free given you have one or have access to one, otherwise you are looking at spending 10 to 100 buck depending on the size of the poly.

I will give the iron a try first. On scrap.

I went with an iron and it worked really well for bonding.

So I need to glue too pieces of 4 mil poly. Anyone have any suggestions?

I was thinking using Hot Glue but I am not sure if it will stick to the poly.

Spray glue (3M). Let it get tacky before you stick together then run duct tape over seam. Shits nasty to breath but this is how remediation (lead asbestos, etc) containments are built.

Welding with the iron seems to be the best but if youre taping poly you want the red sheathing tape. Its expensive, but its what the professional greenhouses use to fix holes.
