Hey there Krome..awesome garden you have my friend...Just a lil curious about your Triangle...I know you dont want it confused with Triangle Kush and I was curious as to why?..IMO it grows just like triangle Kush and the nug shots are dead on to TK...I know a lil rundown on the TK..it was created in the Mid 80's by an old redneck surfer in the sunshine state, not Cali...It's a cross of 2 old Kushs and a lemon thai...It far exceeds anything I've ever seen in resin production early in flower...it can be picked anywhere from 49 -75 days..75 days will make you retarded by the way...I just have a cut but there were seeds made when the cross was made..I believe they may be related..when smoking your cut does she fill your lungs and make you feel like your going to bust but doesnt make you..a real workout on the lungs..taste is like a lemon musky funk...thanks for a reply in advance..and keep up the love in the garden..I have pics in my gallery if interested..didnt want to hijack your thread..

Krome...Thanks for the warm welcome my friend..Yep I got my cut from BlueDog...He's had it since 91 I believe..and not that long ago he met the guy who crossed and made the TK...Yep TK is a Beast from the east..Not a flavor of the month Kush...Not that common to see it in someones garden either...From looking at your pics and stretchs report I really do believe them to be from the same seed line...your's being more Kush Dom and mine being more lemon thai Dom...Your Triangle crosses sound bad ass...I just crossed mine with Strawberry D..running a test on those beans as we speak...I've tried the TK at 32,49,60 and 75 days...32 days is to racey and will get ya paranoid.55-60 is preferred but 75 will make ya ride the short bus..bring helmet..lol..here's a few pics from today at 57 days..My favorite part of smoking TK is the woo woo factor...as your trying to hold it in all you can do is woo..woo..or Bust

all i gotta say is your triangle kush looks real damn similar to our 94/95 ogs1?

now if the ogs1 i have and the triangle kush taste and smell the same (any comparison testers? ;) ), the story of OG being a hermi chemdawg from tahoe will be forever proven false. LOL.....the saga continues...but for real, based on all my growing, i find it hard to believe the diesels and og are related...IMHO...

that triangle kush is a dead ringer for our ogs1 in calyx structure...and the calyx/bud structure on the og is the most unique i have ever seen, likewise at the TK...when's the first side by side round 1 scheduled? LOL...maybe we can rouse enough attention to put it on comcast PPV... :muahaha:

i have the info on the tks lineage.........and your last comment is dead on......except its never been reffered to as og here, where it was created. ive known the guy who did the cross for ages, surfed, and even had the guy whoop my ass showing me defense technique(kinda nutty) anyways..about a month ago,,,,he decides to start talking about strains(something rare here) most want good, but have no inclination to breed. well he starts talking about the cat piss degenerating(it was big here in late 80s 90s) and how nobody here was really buying bulk of an indica called maple,,,,,something new was needed, and the hindu kush was to be the gal. he crossed this gal to a lemon thai he got from a buddy, and in return this buddy crossed it back with another kush, my guess from taste and structure would be pinetar......
my friends and i have been running tk going on 15 yrs now, and it still packs the best taste and buzz ive ever witnessed,,,,,,,,and after all this time, the degeneration is substantial but its impossible to cull, as she is a weightlifter in a wheelchair.

doc.......you ready?

krome.........^ sound familiar.......pretty dead on to what you were saying....and as far as the triangle not tk goes, i found out there was a triangle dispensary on 50......sraight up....in 95 there was a low pro dispensary with traingle cuts flying out,,,,,,,normal in Cali, surreal here.

caNNA- i lined up some Grunk cuts yesterday while i was at work,,,,,,tell your boy i said MY pleasure=) ill get em this week and throw a few your ways.......

brother lime, i'm ready!

sounds like a cool story. didn't the story have something to do with the emerald triangle originally? hence the name triangle kush? i thought i remember you saying somethin' bout that. maybe not, stoner's memory. :bashhead:

anyways, once a side by side is done we can defintely say whether or not they are related. but based on pics and flavor description, i've never seen or heard of anything that looks so spot on to socal og. plus it would make sense for it to make it to socal considering the surf hotspots in the US are down where y'all are and up the coast a lil ways (obx)....and out in socal...not too much good surf elsewhere unless you like thick ass wetsuits, hoodies, and boots!

on another note, that "white" strain looks real similar to the abusive og....i think i've said this before....

man, i didn't know you guys were into surfing....grew up surfing OBX and new smyrna myself, as a kid. cheers!

s4vvy-went from yielding 2.5 - 3 ozs a plant to down to an ounce a plant.....that what weve agreed on locally, still worth running, but we get a lot more for a zip these days.....she will stretch to the ceiling if not fim'ed , besides that, she is the one to judge by.......always has been

doc//// yeah man, youre spot on, that was the story we all had thought.....but the same guy that created it......went to the triangle to take care of his grandmother......took the tk with him......he just up and out the blue started talking about how much work he put into her......and my other buddy sitting with us is just looking at me with a shit eating griN like " Yeah bitch,,,that deep!"
hes an old surfer dude, old,,,,,and has the mind and body of a child, a real nut case, just the guy to get down with some serious strain crossin,,,,,,i was pleased to get all my eggs in a basket so to speak.......puttin all the tid bits together.....but theres no doubt he is the guy.......i even had krome confirm it in a way without even knowing,,his story and mine match up spot on.........im now wondering if the other mystery kush in the mix is what me and krome know as Triangle, a completely different animal that had a big hay day here......time line was, it would make sense...taste wise, im not sure. its been a while since i had triangle(not tk).
and canna...the ther guy in the room was D, and he wouldve called bullshit,i think he withheld all that info from me all these years at dudes request, and as much as me and him have done together,,,,my level of respect for him went up a notch knowing he kept dude low pro....feel me?

krome....sorry for hijacking so to speak,,,,,,sat or sun?

OG Kush doesn't exist.

So where did all this bud come from? Growers exist in a world of supply and demand, and as idiots demand fake strains from movies and television, we have to come up with equivalents.

Pineapple Express didn't exist, and then it was everywhere.

OG Kush is the same, and this gives explanation to the huge variety of "Regional" OGs (SFV, Tahoe, etc) that popped up, as morons started asking their dealer, "man, you got that OG Kush? someone told me a random asinine story about getting really high at a party on OG Kush" he asked his supplier, and so on, until a frustrated grower wrote that label onto an especially dank plant to shut them up.

This story repeats itself again and again, as long as the market continues to center around ignorance, people will keep demanding things that don't exist.
Fool, my OG Kush and Pineapple Express are 100% legit, UNHELPFUL!

So heres the deal. There are only so many places in the world with wild potent cannabis. Equatorial varieties in Africa and Asia and mountain kushes from the Himalayas.
just made me laugh you just mentioned half of the populated earth and said ''only'' lol Africa and asia are vast even on their own.

i definitely think that afghan genes have contributed a lot to high potency in modern day strains but i don't know how that relates to ogs as im no expert but i like afghan dom strains.

I was surprised to find sour bubble in my bubblegum but it was in there.

It seems that it could be Ocean Grown Bubba which I think was bubblegum crossed to afghani kush.

OG Kush has always been considered a bubbakush but I could be wrong.

there is no bubba kush in OG. it never shows no matter how many times you breed OG or self it.

I grew serious ak47 a few years back and had a pheno smell exactly like diesel. it had the same fuel notes etc. and it was strong but it certainly had none of those genes in it. you get the odd random freak here and there, I dont think it really proves any lineage in its ancestry.

Hasn't Neville said Bubblegum is just NL x Big Bud? And it likely originated from him?

The only people who think Bubba is Bubblegum x OG are the people who buy Greenhouse Seeds.

I don't know what Neville has to do with bbg? the indiana bubblegum I thought was one of the first if not the first around?

Just going by what I've read on the MNS boards from Nev and British Hempire. Both of these little posts seem to contradict each other so who knows as usual :dance013:

Nevil:
It wasn't developed in the US. That's just the standard bullshit these boys put out to avoid admitting that it was pure Seed Bank stock.
The original BG was nice. I believe that it was a Big Bud Skunk X Nl5 SK cross. Later inbreedings, produced an inferior product.
I don't know about Silverback, but I do know my strains. Critical Mass, also comes from the BBSK line. Try crossing it to NL5SK, the result may burst a bubble.

BH:
The old Guerilla Grower is gone. At 62, he apparantly had a heart attack while climbing down a 40' cliff and fell into a dry creek bed. He layed there for a full day before he was found. This is an irreplaceable loss for our local growing community for the entire cannabis world. Reclusive and eccentric, the purchase of a computer brought him to ** ***, as he loved growing he wanted to share what he knew. For 40 years, he has been a legend here. My grandfather, who had known him since grade school introduced me to him last year and it changed my life.

It is widely known among the old timers around here, that in 1971, Silverback, with his brother and brother in law in Evansville Indiana, developed the original bubblegum strain that is now sold by Thseeds.{the Serious strain is very different than the original}. He said the strain was a cross between several afhgani strains he had recieved from relatives serving in the peace corp in 1968, crossed with a hybrid he recieved while dealing with weed producers in Mexico in 1970. He and my grandfather told me that bikers from oakland California had brought in a couple of horticulturist from Berkley and they were working with mexican growers to produce faster better yeilding weed. My grandfather has a picture of himself, silverback and the bikers that were visiting Silverbacks home, standing next to 50 bricks of the mexican hybrid weed they had developed.

He was a little crazy, but knew more than anyone i have ever met about pot. In 1982, he created a local strain that i am growing this year called " The shit that killed Elvis Presley" and just this year, I was able to get 20 seeds of a his new creation called " The Shit that Killed Micheal Jackson". I have no doubt it would be as successful as bubblegum. Thank god i have f2's cooking and 10 of the originals.

Salute to an old grower. He was tougher than the rattlesnakes around he and smarter than a fox. The police knew him well and would have considered him a prize catch. There were dozens of growers at his funeral. They ranged from 70years old, to 20 yrs old.

If there's a heaven, there is no question he's breaking ground for an indica grow. Happy growing old bud.

As the sayin goes dont believe everything you read especially if its posted by British Hempire

Funny you mention Nev , Im Lol caz i was gonna mention Nevil as a joke ( mystery solved )but i know this subject gets touchy .

The man Gave some incredible Detailed info in his time posting but he mentioned a few strains being created/coming from his stock which i found hard to believe .

I agree ,To compare terpenes to trace the lineage is IMO a small factor as Strains from total opposite places of origin are known to share similar terpenes .

Sup brother ,I was curious too see you iif you would stop in

To each there own ,I think Bluebeard said it best

I would gladly walk over 20 lbs of cali kush to grab 4 ounces off a haze plant which took 12 months + of 12/12 to mature

^^^ cannabis is an annual angiospermae... there are no " haze plant which took 12 months + of 12/12 to mature " ... :petting:

tropical sativas when grown in their natural environment will only Veg for 2 months and then start flowering, and flowering will not go for 12 months +

it's when you take those girls out of their normal latitude into a naturally occurring long veg that they grow into trees ... :bump:

I heard that from a buddy of mine. He didnt know shit about any seed company type stuff. He probably thought that cause its sounds similiar, bubba bubbalgum, or maybe he heard it from someone else. i was just wonderin if anyone else heard that. And for the record, id personally burn my money b4 id buy anything from greenhouse.

Ogr- just trimmed and smoked some FireAlien Master. Not only some of the prettiest dry flowers ive ever grown, but also some super delicious lemon, coffee, kush funk. Thank you!:smokeit:

It was more the mindset of the post not the literal time frame

You are correct , From what i was told the Santa Cruz Original haze was in the ground for about 9 months soo probably flowered 6-7 months .

I started a thread about perennials ,I know the consensus .But the rare post an photos of extreme flowering types still intrigues me .

Bluebeard seemed to be a wealth of knowledge. To bad i was just beginning my journey when he was posting . Check some of his post in the info on old cali lines thread

If there is no bubblegum in OG Kush then how did my sour bubble come from bubblegum?

Many have found my sour bubble to be very much an OG Kush type if slightly different it looks a lot like it and is more potent than most. I prefer it.

My clone isn't sold but if it were I think most people would classify it as closest to OG Kush.

Just my opinion.
