Diary Update - Waiting for Dennis.

Diary Update - Waiting for Dennis.

Hi Folks,
Another diary update, another job to do.
In the on-going development of my loftie, I've come to realise that the exhaust fan & can could be in a more efficient place - at the apex, where it should have been put. However, at the time I thought there was only space for the light cooling fan. With a bit of messing about I reckon I can get a more efficient set up, which means cutting a new 6" hole into the chimney.

So, I marked the spot & drew the circle. Now the infuriating part, yes you guessed it - waiting for fuckin' Dennis!

I have to wait until he goes out each time before I can nip upstairs and start chipping away. The neighbour on the other side never leaves his house but I think he's deaf but I still take my time.

Got this far in one go and now I've got to sit on my hands until tomorrow - when Dennis goes out again! AArrgh
I suppose at this rate, It'll take me about a week!
Still when it's all done at least I will know I've done everything I can to make the room as efficient and controllable as possible.
Still got loads of future plans when I get the budget but mostly in the soundproofing dept.
Stay safe & happy growing :tiphat:

Soft Flip

Soft Flip

looking great in there! soft flip will give you a slightly bigger yield because they will veg for a bit longer before the flowering hormones kick in properly. its very useful for landraces and landrace hybrids because they havent been bred to withstand a hard flip. but for those ppxcheese it shouldnt matter too much. thats my 2c anyway.

Hi Oldbootz,
Thanks for that man, love it when I learn something new :tiphat:

Hard work always pays off. Usually pays in pain. ;) Looking good, Iffy! On average about how long do you let your ladies flower?
How about giving Dennis a few quid and send him off to the pub for a pint?
Keep up the good work.

Hi Iffy,
I must apologise for not reading the entire thread, but I would love to ask you a few questions about the PP1, do you know it well? Is here the correct place or should I send you a PM?
Don't want to take focus away from your grow!

500 seems so long ago now! a few things, firstly( dennis the menace) how did we miss that one lol.
secondly the name of your plant. p.c.p hahaaha power cheese plant. are you still thinking of flipping at night after what happened with the fuz? if so the later the better think the choppers dont run by me after midnight.not 100% on that one to be sure.and the higher up the chimney the warmer the air coming out of the top would worry me a bit.am not trying to put you off, just airing my worries on the side of caution! one other thing and this is freaky, my deaf neighbour told other neighbours that he heard screaming at night from my place, how weird is that! i was the only one in at the time and could only think that the tv may of been a bit loud, now when his tv is on ,i dont have to put mine on ,as i just listen to his .lol just a few thoughts .everything else looking good mate. willyweed

Diary Update

Diary Update

Hi Folks,
Just a quick update;
The girls are thriving! I reckon the Humic-Fulvic additive 'Ancient Earth' is having a real effect on the general health. No yellowing, not a single spot on any leaf! They look vibrant, green & super healthy.

As of today they are in full 12/12 flowering schedule but I will keep the Veg nutes going in for one more week before switching to Flora as I reckon they need the added N for the first week - 10 days.
So far, so good.
I will keep you guys posted.
Stay safe & happy growing :tiphat:

Hi MildeStoner,
I didn't realise that it affected the taste too - extra bonus!!
I came to use it because I had been given 2 x 5L of Canna Hydro Vega free of charge and I didn't want it to go to waste. Its designed for run to waste systems & mine is recirculating (Should use Aqua Vega). So the first time I used it, the new clones showed some signs of nute def, yellow tips etc. I was informed by a few of the members here that Humic/Fulvic would probably sort it and wow, were they right! These are the healthiest looking plants I've grown in hydro for a long time.
Stay safe brother & happy growing! :tiphat:

Yeah, realised I had little understanding of how it could work, did some reading, humic acids mimic auxins, and:
In Melissa officinalis grown in culture medium for 60 days with auxin and cytokinin complement (IAA 11.42 µmol L-1; BA 8.87 µmol L-1 and IAA+BA), an increase of 1.4 fold on nerol and 4.1 fold on geraniol was verified.
Which is an impressive increase in terpene production. The same study mentions finding an increase in in terpene quality, not just quantity. Interesting..

Not only do you get healthier, more robust & resistant plants but stronger and better quality! A real no-brainer!
However, the 'Ancient Earth' I'm using is really expensive albeit easy to use, so I'm looking into cheaper, larger quantity options.
Its available in powder form but I'm not sure of its suitability for full hydro - might block up my drippers, which is a real pain in the arse.
Some small investment and some experimenting is in order, I think.
Stay safe & happy growing :tiphat:

Grow Diary.

Grow Diary.

Hi Folks,
Another diary update;
So, 30 days from planting the clones and into 2nd week of flowering after a 'soft' flip over a period of a week. Next grow I'm going to 'hard' flip them, as I'm not seeing any real flowering yet.
However, growth is amazing & they look so healthy.

Res change last night and the switch to bloom nutes. Currently running in a 100L res;
Plant Magic Hydro Bloom A&B - 350ml
H&G Roots Exelurator - 30ml
AN Ancient Earth - 150ml
Liquid Seaweed - 150ml
H2o2 - 100ml

PH - 5.9

Coming along nicely - more to follow
Stay safe & happy growing :tiphat:
