Simpson oil

Hello I'm very new to the world of concentrates,but as a medical user it seems to be the best way to get the best results. Not being a chemist and a bit weary of the BHO process I have been doing a bit of research on the subjest and came across something called Simpson oil...made by Rick Simpson..has anyone used or made it before...it sounded a lot safer then BHO..I can supply a link to the info I found and any and all help on this would be very appreciated. Hopefully I don't sound like an idiot...thank to everyone in advance.

Define RS Oil? I define it as a concentrate extracted using Rick's published methods, because we already have names for all of the concentrates extracted by other means.

Rick simpson has videos out on how he extracts using Naphtha and a rice cooker. Phoenix Tears http://phoenixtears.ca/video-library/ can provide you information on how he does it.

We don't use naphtha because there is no concrete specification other than boiling point range, which includes known carcinogens like benzene, and some manufacturers do have benzene as one of their ingredients.

If you chose to use naphtha, I recommend that you specify Light Naphtha to narrow down the boiling point range from 30C/200C, to 30C/90C so as to exclude the longer chain ingredients that are hard to purge.

The most important part, is to get the MSDS for the actual supplier of the Light Naphtha, because they will list what they have chosen to include. The ingredients within the range ar up to them.

Pentane and Hexane are the two simple alkanes that fall in that range and what we use instead of Naphtha. They will do exactly the same thing, without having to worry about content, and are readily available in reagent grades.

Puging with a rice cooker has the advantage of limiting the temperature, but we do the same thing with a hot oil bath in a fondue pot. The key point is temperature control.

Rick was trying to present an extraction and purge method that most folks could obtain the ingredients for and use without screwing up, not the state of the art solution.

Perhaps stating my goals will help me further narrow down the approach that best suits me and my needs. I'll be making this for myself and another patient,I have moderate to severe Psoriatic arthritis...the pain can be out of the control of narcotics at times and well as the attendant skin problems so something that has that dual purpose is ideal,the other patient is a stroke victim my father in law to be accurate he took a really big hit to brain about 6 years ago and his health has been on the down slope for a while now...that is the reason for my search. I've been watching the threads and at the risk of sounding like a butt smooch i will say you and 1 or 2 others seem to be the guy's I want to learn from...thank you for the detailed information perhaps you will be able to help again as I get deeper into this.The help is always appreciated.

Also important to know is that Simpson and some of his acolytes disparage all other methods and makers of various cannabis "oil preparations". It is a hoot to see some of the misinformation they are spreading on social media.

Thank's Chunky,that is my intent....I learned at a young age that a good mentor makes for great results and have learned how to learn from others....I happen to be in a state that seems on the verge of giving us Medical cannabis and I want to be both prepared for that and for a better future with natural and effective meds. Hell I'm about to turn 47 in a few weeks and I'm facing a life full of pain and possibly a wheelchair and that just isn't working for me..I also have a little boy about to enter this world in july and I don't him him to have his memories of me....tainted by this nasty trick of nature...all help and direction is appraciated....I knew comming back here was the smart thing.Thanks Gray and Chunky for the info and encouragement....I can already see the light at the end of the bong....lol

I have erythrodermic psoriasis ... which is the full suite of psoriasis symptoms including arthritis. I found cannabis tinctures to provide instant relief and in much smaller doses than 1g of oil per day. (altho such a large amount MAY provide a cure ... ?)

I take HS Oil and use Holy Anointing Oil topical for my arthritic pain. We have also had excellent luck with Psorysis itself, with HAO topical. I recommend trying both.

We have also had excellent luck with stroke victims, as cannabis is a neural protector, though all strokes aren't created equal.

Our latest stroke victim was walking and talking normally at this years 4:20 gathering, only about 60 days after her stroke, that left her crippled and speechless.

Good perspective! Rick may be his own worst enemy and does get his foot in his mouth on an ongoing basis, but look at what he has accomplished to set the stage for the rest of us. A salute to the part that he has done right and the lives that have been saved as the result.

As far as his method only, any number of different solvents and methods will extract the active ingredients responsible for the curative properties, and once you have enough, too too much has little added benefit.

Regardless how pure Rick's motives, or those of his most devout followers, some of his acolytes are selling RSO and other processes interfer with their market place. Remember that the traveler prays for good weather, on the same day that the farmer prays for rain.

If they can disparage the quality of the competitions product, so that it exits the market place, they don't have to be as concerned about their own quality.

Some of that oil made the patients sick, because of excess chlorophyll and retained naphtha, because not all of the acolytes do a good job or even use Rick's process. For instance, one local group was supplying "Black RSO Oil" to the market place, which had been reflux boiled in Isopropyl. It was also made with Botrytis infected plant material and some of the good material was first dry sieved to harvest the kif for another product line.

The interesting thing is, that it both made some people sick and cured others. At least one of cancer spread through several organs, just disappeared. It is really hard to make totally bad oil, but I do recommend doing it yourself or get your oil from a reliable source, because there are sharks in the water.

It is good to remember that truth is shorter than fiction and that the poorer the product, the harder the sell. Good things sell them self!

Do try cannabis oil on your FIL. I would recommend HAO or HSO, but just raw cannabis oil in capsules will also work. The will work better if you will include a little coconut oil to keep the liver busy.

Coconut oil? interesting...I am currently Methotrexate user as of my last blood test my liver is fried from it I'm being backed of it and going on an injectable drug based on monoclonal anti-bodies.It's intended to suppress TNF-1.With my liver being impaired would you say I should wait until my enzyme levels get back to normal? I would immediately try cannabis. We furnished oil to a final stage Hep C patient, whom had been sent home to put their affairs in order, and after two years at around a gram a day, their tests show normal liver function.

They were out of bed and getting on with their life in a couple of weeks, so even though it took two years to get a normal function, observable improvement started the first day.

Well Gray that just may happen as My 11 year old is in california and the mrs.and I are trying to make the time and money for a visit....thanks again for the help and encouragement. We aren't to far from harvest right so we will be taking a crack at making some oil and we are also curious about tinctures as well.I'm ready to get as far away from opiates as possible as soon as I can...it's really starting to effect me. Hi Frank,thanks for the words....and it took me all of one interaction with Gray Wolf to realize that he knows what he's talking about....I'm always open to new things in that respect and the deeper I sink into my particular illness the more I want to get off of the opiates and other perscriptions....I have a little boy due in july and I don't want to be another over medicated parent that can't participate in life with my kid......thanks again.
