Yeah, late 70's HT's are a good read...I got just about every issue before 1980.

I prefer a large active forum to a mag. That is just the changing times though. I love the mag though. I have for many years.

Def use ht as a resource along with many other books and online articles. If you use ht a your only growing resource you are def in for problems. As for the curing comment it is a matter a personal preference, but in my opinon curing makes your buds more potent makes them have a longer shelf life and makes them smell and taste much better. on your next grow take some bud and cure some and compare to the fresh and I bet you will cure all your bud after that.

Those old high times are the shit! i have looked into buying some vintage HT's more than once on ebay..It would be a interesting read for sure! It would be sweet to have a little collection of em!

i love the old hightimes the new ones not so much but in some places its really all there is. tymag and skunk are cool i love max yield but thats not really a canna-mag imo but full of lots of good info.
as far as cure goes i think anytime after 3wks is perfect and i can care less bout shelf-life it seems nomatter how much i chop theres ppl waitin for it. i wish i could cure some shit for a year or 2 and see.

As a newbie grower i used to read High Times mag faithfully.. But it seems as I become a more seasoned grower, i find that alot of what they rep to be untrue..

One of the first things high times will tell you is to kill your male plants..And to be afraid of pollen. Where you gonna get your next seeeds then? oh buy em from there ads..lol why not teach peeps how to make their your own seed without ruining your whole crop. i used to be soo afraid of a male plant..lol only to keep buying seed.

the second thing i disagree with is curing... i like almost all my herb pretty fresh.. kushes for sure!! tastes the best then imo. every herb is different but i think the general sensus should be smoking it when its still fresh not after 6 months of sitting in a jar imo....

anyone else got alternative thoughs on this aswell?

As far as the seeds, some, maybe most growers just find keeper plants and clone them. Sure some like variety and keep popping new seeds. Once I have a few strains that are good, I dont mess with seeds

treating your self is my fav weed mag. I still pick up a high times/grow/skunk mag when im at a head shop. but TYS is subscription worthy imho... High Times is like the playboy of nude mags, mediocre pics and alot of bullshit advertising, and yet I cant stop myself from buying them.....

Great read, honestly havn't read High Times much....ICMAG is the l3est,,,,,as someone stated it is a good resource l3ut not used l3y itselph...It's crazy how times change, and this company has to change to "advertise" to the age group and market....very inteeresting...Tom Hills post is great too....peace

HT is geared to newbies, and the info really isnt that bad for a begginer. At least it can spark peoples interest in growing, and gives them a starting point.
