Rootech, AN JuicyRoots, Schultz powder from Walmart; in my experience, none work any better/faster than the other...

I've used the big box Green Light stuff with good results. I just bought a small container of Rootech; gonna give it a try the next go around. As others have said, environment is far more important when compared to what brand hormone you use.

used to swear by root tech till i saw granny using Vitagrow to root her oleander cuttings...roots in 7 or 8 days, and they are VERY woody.soooo i tried it and never looked back ,full beards of roots blasting outta rapid rooter plugs in 4 days-provided your conditions are right of course.

I've only used Olivia's Cloning Gel and never really had a problem with getting clones to root. Quickest I'll see roots is around 5 days. I think environment and how much nitrogen your mothers are getting hit with play the biggest role over anything else.

I like Dyna gro root-gel it has both iba & naa (auxin and cytokin) so dose KLN

Just picked some KLN up... didn't have any IBA or NAA in it... I thought it did because of this post. Shame on me for not looking before buying.

Gel coming soon!

Gel coming soon!

I LOVE Hormex but, it's not a gel. Soaking stems in full strength Hormex for 1 minute was the greatest success jump my cloning process ever saw. Lasts for years.

To get back to the question, any IBA, NAA gel will do.

I know this post is old but I wanted to update you regarding Hormex Gel. We are currently working on it. In fact I have the first prototype sitting on my desk. :thank you:

Just wanted to update everyone that we are currently working on a gel version of Hormex. It is in the final stages of development.

dip-n-grow

dip-n-grow

I remember when you had to look far and wide in Cali to find a out of the way obscure nursery that carried Dip-n-grow. It's the best by a long way. Years ago I advised a couple of grow store's in the so Cali area to try it. I think all the powders and gells are pretty much the same active ingredient it's just dip-n-grow can be more concentrated..? It kicks the Svit out of any other hormone.:woohoo:

Dynagro and KLN

Dynagro and KLN

I use both and have had good results. I would love to get it happening quicker though, it takes 10 to 14 days with these two under a humidity dome and sprayed every couple of hours.

I've been using Clonex for years but I think it's changed as it's a different color these days and my new bottle is runny, hardly a gel. The other reason I think it's changed is that it doesn't work nearly as well as it used to. Buyer beware.

Used a ton of them including root tech, Walmart powder, and clonex. Dip and grow blows them all away. I use it at a 15 fold concentration. I've done clones with other rooting hormone brands and got little activity, but then taken the cutting out after 7 days and redipped in dip and grow and it gave me results very quickly. It's got IBA and NAA while many brands only have IBA. As far as application goes I'm a firm believer in the liquid form. Gels are garbage, powders are a little better IMO. Last thing, you set the concentration. This makes dip and grow the most versatile and it's not that expensive.
