Frank, what you should be doing is establishing a base, based on the individuals breeding worth. I know you know what I am talking about and I know you understand we are not talking about art either.... When you gaze across the boards, what do you see? Do you see plants of high breeding value being utilized by others, or do you see art? If you see art, then I fear you need a 3eye exam.

Now take your 5 favorite clones and plug them into a pedigree selection method. Self 5 clones, grow out their progeny in 5 seperate plots. Evaluate those plots as you guys are use to. Seek out "the best" of those 5 plots, self those individuals again. Repeat this process, you'll not need to go far I assure you (certainly not beyond 3 gens) if you know where to start you'll be in the money so to speak imediately (S1). Clear winning families will emerge 3 times more rapidly than any other breeding method.. So when someone says,,, fuck feminized seed they only have this use or that, please, tell them they are absolutely full of shit. i think i get what you mean with the selfing Tom Hill... you are saying that when you self a chosen female, if there is lots of physical diversity then there is a big and a little (heterozygous), instead of 2 big or small, which means it probably isnt a female that will breed true (homozygous)? okay from this point does it matter if its big(dominant?) or small(recessive?) or as long as its not heterozygous it matters not?? i see how that short cut works, its not at all possible to do this with a male though that sux...

has nothing to do with male female yes if it is AA or aa the offspring will not differ under selfing, it will be the same, for ever more until you outcross. But those pesky Aa's that give rise to diversity, they will be diminished 3 times faster than under any other program. Look guys, the most advanced maths is by guess and by golly (solution shooting, if you prefer) and the guys that get paid the most do so because they guess right sooner. This (these methods) is how you find out if you're right or wrong fastest, it really doesn't amount to anything more than that.
