then you probably get sick on escalators too. cruise ships are the smoothest riding thing on the water.

it's just a matter of training the inner ear to the new motion. most people get over it fast.

i've never had it but i grew up on boats and then spent twenty years on the water everyday.

heights freak me out though and i get a dizzy sensation. but i wouldn't hesitate to skydive because it would be more like flying, which doesn't bother me.

but there's something about looking down the side of a cliff or tall building that makes me shit and go blind.

thanks, supernuck! i hope it's temporary until i clean out the big room maybe a week or so. then i'll be able to move an ac from the other room.

goddam worms again! they're everywhere.

i have begun flattening the plant by breaking the laterals at the main stem forcing them port and starboard. and have taken off a few of the largest fans, maybe 5 altogether, only along the main stem at this point. i think this causes the laterals to slow the elongation response and redirects growth to the small shoots along each lateral. they start reaching towards the front and thickening. these shoots then become branches instead of staying small and larfy. i'll pick one and track it so we can see the growth.

i'll be growing these with the light to one side but if i were to light both sides i think i would still flatten the plant as this would bring more of the plant mass within range of the good light.

in photo 4 take a close look at the texture of the medium. you can see the excellent air porosity. within 2 minutes of a pulse the entire medium is cleared of all standing water and looks just like this.

I like your thought train on the 2 dimensional plants. I've had that image in my head since early in your last run. As you say it should give you the ability to get more lumens spread more evenly over the canopy. I imagine the plant looking like a hand fan with more bud getting direct light. I know your canopy got away with you last run and you ended up with a jungle (a problem many would love to have) so with that knowledge I'm sure you will pull it off this time.

To help myself and maybe others with timing how long does it take you to get the rooted cut ready to transplant to the ppk, a couple of week? I see a couple in the one pic above so I guess once they root you stick them into the veg room until they get to a foot or so tall then transplant into the ppk?

anything we can do to keep more of the plant mass close to the light has to help.

these cuts here have been in slo-gro or stasis mode for quite a while. they were taken just before i went to flower so that's about nine weeks now.

they were rooted in a spare bathtub with a piece of cardboard over it to trap heat and two daylight cfl's and a 60 watt incandescent to keep heat up in the 80f plus range.

i knew i wanted to stall them so once i got roots i removed the 60 watter and let it cool back down. fed 300 ppm flora nova bloom for a long time. the bloom formula with it's reduced nitrogen is great for this, for stalling.

but basically neglected until i started the veg room. since it will run perpetual i will clone in there too. i'll use these up and then i'll be well on my schedule of 2 cuts per week.

i can get a clone to about a foot in 3 weeks so i have to have space for only 6 in this stage and a few more if i'm saving a strain. i don't keep mothers so i let them grow out as long as it is practical then take 2 cuts and start over.

i ran a cut of sweet tooth #4 like that for 7 years.

so for timing it's 3 weeks from cutting to the ppk and then i hope to go 3 weeks in veg and then to flower. i throw away a clone a week.

first we have #1 at 2 weeks and about 20 in. laterals have been flattened and the shoots on them are growing strongly out towards the front. i broke one that is not going to recover. i'll take two cuts off #1 today so i can get to my first un-stalled clone in 3 weeks.

roots popping up out of the medium, arcing over, and then diving back in. it would be cool to get a time lapse of this gazelle like leap. a bunch of them leaping out at random like dolphin or something. have you ever watched earthworms leap out of the soil when a mole approaches? if there are a bunch of worms they will leap out and run at high wormspeed in random directions. what intense drama. it's fun to fuck with the worms and vibrate the ground pretending to be a mole.

enough wormshit! then we have #2 at one week. considering that it looked like #3 to the far right a week ago it's coming along ok. no training or flattening yet. i'l do it in a few days.

Looking good, for 4 days it looks like they are just now grabbing hold of the pot and starting to beef up a little bit, now its time to grow vertically. How often did you say you were going to be rotating out? I noticed with mine it took about 3 to 5 days to get hold of the pot then it started growing vertically but it did bush up noticeably as soon as it was inserted into the pot almost instantly, next night as soon as the lights came on it was 2x as bushy no shit.
