i will be update free for about a week. im leaving for Hawaii in the morning. when i get back i will have some new shots and the AK should be near harvest. they are being flushed with molasses and drip clean from here on out. i will get some GPW numbers up shortly after. stay tuned everyone.

just got back from hawaii. it was great but the weather was SHIT. windy as hell and rainy off and on. our fishing trip got cancelled and that was what i wanted to do most of all.

the plants are all doing good.....except my mother AK. she died lol. i think there was a fert buildup in the medium. thats all it could have been. oh well. i made clones before she bit the big one, thanks god. the AK's will come down in a few more days i think. the rest still have a while.

i came home to find my seeds and cool new coffee mug in the mail lol. perfect timing.

anyone know what happens when i run out of room to upload pics? im getting close to full

for some reason the AK's are goin much longer than normal! its weird but as long as they are putting on extra weight as well then i am ok with it. i am really hoping to break the 1gpw mark for once.

by going longer, do you mean the trichs aren't ambering up to quickly?

this is apparently somewhat common with LEDs from what i have read. i am just growing cannabis with my arrays for the first time so i cannot speak from personal experience.

i think some UV lighting will fix that, iirc. hopefully someone with this experience will comment.

i got some humboldt seed org. blue dream and some trainwreck freebies from them, some rare dankness 501st OG, and some cool freebies i think i got NLx skunk 1, caramel ice and critical hog. gonna pop the 501st OG, blue dream and trainwreck and get them going ASAP!

heres a couple shots from this morning. gonna take them in a couple days or so. they are done enough i just wanna wait to see if they are still swelling any, and also i would like to take these to at least 50% amber. i bet they are gonna destroy anyone who smokes them at 50% + amber

ok so its sitting at .92 lbs WET at the moment. just chopped. there is a ton of small popcorn that is gonna look great in the jar but was a beast to trim. thank god i have a small hand trimmer. it saved my ass big time. took me like 2 hours total in stead of like 4-5 haha.

my initial reaction to LED is this: LED's are great, but they definitely have their own pros and cons. i think to get full benefit your plants structure needs to be tailored for growing with lower wattage units for the small LED's. for example i think single cola SOG would have done great and you could really pack them in or scrog would do great as well. my dense little bushes were hard for the little 180w units to fulfill. with that being said i still think they did awesome for only 180~ W each.

i think small units like these are great for small and micro setups with clearance issues or heat issues. if i had limited room or limiting factors this would be the way for me to grow, but i dont and this was merely a test grow to test the legitimacy of LED tech. i think the higher wattage units would do awesome but they are cost prohibitive for most people.

i have ideas i want to do with this tent like the 2 LED's and a bare bulb 250w hps on a light mover. the only thing holding me back is that i have extra 600's on hand and all i can think of is that if i would have run an air cooled 600w in that tent i would have gotten close to a lb with this strain. this is not a stab at LED at all, i think they are great for small cabs and such but its like would you rather run a 360w light and get "x" amount or run a spare 600w lumatek and pull a lb haha. speaking of pulling a lb off a 600w, my mother scrog plant is looking phenomenal! i think i will break a personal record with her for sure.

there were 2 180w panels in a 2x4 tent. one was centered on the AK's and the other was sitting over the four seed test plants. thos will be coming down any day now. they look like they are getting real close. the chemmy looks great and its super dense for only being under 180w. she is gonna tear it up under HID's

check out the HID side of the room. still getting the hydro dialed in with the new media. i believe the porous growstone media was holding too much water and i was flooding too often. im down to 3 times @ 15min. i may move to 2. if they fill in proper i will kill it in there. the scrog mother is kicking ass. the sweet tooth bushy mother which is barely visible in the corner of the coco scrog pic is a monster! as soon as the LED tent finishes i will plop the LED's on top of the sweet tooth mom bush since she's on the edge and could use some bonus light.

that was only a small amount of wattage considering what your pulling-
i love the hps LED hybrid- thats all i run now days-
2:1 led to hps-
still saves loads of heat and power this way and really rock a large area better this way-

i would like to say that my chemmy jones turned out fantastic! just like described on their page. it yielded well for its size and lighting and the smell is just like they described, nasty rotting meat with a funky sweet undertone. its awesome. i cant wait to run it under HID. it is super easy to trim. very little leaf and solid rock hard nugs even under 180w of LED so i know its gonna kill it under 600w. my AK's are vegging out for their next go around in the ebb and grow as soon as the tsi fly are done. i think for now i am gonna keep the chemmy and AK. the chemmy would be bad ass for a vert bare bulb setup. perfect structure.
