small update.

small update.

ok so I have been scouting for pre-flowers from my seedlings I planted about a month ago and I took a few shots of what I know for sure is female along with a shot or 2 of the PPK lady after I trimmed her back a lil bit and tied her back against the rack.

I should be picking up another ballast socket tomorrow so i can get my quantum 400 into this tent as well and start up my mixed spectrum. Right now my temps around here have been very low and I am fighting to keep my running temps at around 73 my lights out temps have been pretty low the last couple nights at around 47 to 50 I know this will slow growth down so I am trying to get the temps. up for the 6 hours the lights are off.

First shot is of a preflower from my sour d plant, next is a shot of her, then the next 2 are of the 2 jedi kush ladies I have so far there is still 2 more jedis that I need to confirm sex of and the 5 shot is of the Iced grapefruit(f) x chem d (m) in my tester PPK after I trimmed her up a bit and also defoliated a lot of the bigger fans.

Ok well everything is rolling along pretty good I must say. I installed the 400 watt quantum today and up potted all but 1 plant into 3 gallon smarties for my momma hunt. I went all the way out to the hydro store for coco and forgot another damn 3 gallon bag, oh well I am really still waiting for that one to show me sex anyways. When I open the tent up to feed it just reeks like fucking a garbage dump along side a skunk whore house and a hint of greezy fried chicken if that makes any sense. Never had plants stink so bad with out flowers on them. Makes me eager to see whats to come in about 2 1/2 months.

Still have to get my cloner set back up, cleaned out sterilized. I picked up some new neoprene collars today for them also, my cloner is by far the most ghetto part of my set up but runs like a well tuned engine once its rocking. just gotta clean an sterilize every run at least I do just makes me feel better. Though I am not going to have my recycle timer for it now and the pump will be going all the times so I know this is going to heat the shit out of my water. I am going to have to pick up a cheap wally world timer and just do 15 minute on-off intervals. I have done this in the past just gotta keep an eye on the water so id don't heat up an start growing some nasty shit, I guess I could get some EWC tea brewing for some benies since I am going to have to go all the freaking way back out for 1 freaking bag lol I need to stop going to the store medicated I always leave with none of what I went for but still end up spending more than I wanted too.

Also I need to set up a small stadium for the momma hunt around the PPK just so I can get the canopy up to the same level as the tester plant in the PPK. Looks like we will have 6 additions to the PPK tester 4 Jedi kush, 1 Sour D, and hopefully a chem 91 if it will ever give me a positive answer I know the other 1 I have is a boy he already showed me his B***S just gonna keep him around for a lil breeding run in about a month, along with the 2 jedi boys. I always like to make some seed when I have the chance. I was checking out Jbonze man I hope I spelled that right, but I was checking out his thread and I seen about storing cuts in the fridge and was like snapp!! Thats all me especially searching for mommas right now dont't need a bunch of clones that I might not need lying around getting in the way. I need to go hit him with some rep on that little gem of info I am sure he wasn't the originator of it but I seen it there :) . It was really late once I finished up getting the light installed and potting up the ladies I was unable to get any pics for you guys, but think it would be better tomorrow once I get the stadium set up and get my gals up on the stage for their performance in the big show of life. Till then see ya'll around .

Pics from the update

Pics from the update

here are the pictures I promised from last nights update from when I got the 400 installed for the dual spectrum plants are loving it plus I potted everything up to 3 gallons now I will flip in about 5 days. You can hardly tell I trimmed the plant in the PPK just about 5 days ago just keeps on throwing out foliage. I finally got my temps under control just took another 400 watts to set it straight its actually kind of inspiring. Running around 75 to 78 with outside room temps of 65 so far so good.

my ghetto cloner

my ghetto cloner

Here is my ghetto cloner up and running she looks a lil rough around the edges but she gets the roots flowing and thats all the matters right? I just got it all cleaned up and filled with fresh water with some clonex I had lying around should be ready to put clones into by tomorrow night I gotta keep an eye on my water temps since I wont have my recycle timer for this round of clones. I usually like to run it at 5 mins on and 10 off just so I can give my pump time to cool off but it is kinda chilly in my veg tent so it might just work out for the better I guess we'll see.

Had to cut my fingers out of 2 shots. I started the plants on a 9 hours on and 3 off starting today at 1 pm so they will stay on till 10pm then off till 1 am then on till 10 am rinse and repeat with the dual spectrum hopefully I get some explosive growth like some have been noticing with this type of photo-period. enjoy. any comments are welcomed

Good looking setup hotboxes. With your prior experience I expect you to have little trouble running the ppk. The flip tents sounds like a winner with the veg space to keep them both rocking. 2 tents for flower, another setup for veg all in a lung with proper temp/humidity controls will do you well if possible.

DHF Thanks a lot this means a lot coming from you. The flip will be coming in about 4 or 5 days just trying to get some stretch so when I do flip I can drop them back down to the floor and keep the same level as the PPK plant.

I put the 600watt HPS up top to hopefully encourage some vertical growth and the MH under so I could hopefully keep my inter node spacing nice and tight. I'm sure once I flip I will get all the stretch I want, just need to get that last 3 gallon pot.

Thanks for stopping by Forkup and thanks for the kind words and good vibes. Yeah the PPK is pretty self containing as long as you have all the working parts in order and dialed in together she runs pretty smoothly I must say. I will for sure be running a full PPK flip in the future but my second tent needs to come first, so coco will be it for now except for the 1 PPK tester I have going. I need to get a few more little things to complete this first one like a couple more fans and some kind of fence for behind the plants so I have a torture rack to tie them to. Thanks again for stopping by and enjoy the show.

You know.....Sooooo many folks grow dope without the knowledge and experience of stackin nodes and keepin elongated internode spacing to the BARE minimum for cola development with the proper watts per sq ft , but.....

I see folks bitchin bout powdery mildew and bud mold /botyritis in late flower without proper de-huey useage due to growin the nugs properly but not providing the proper environment during LIGHTS OFF to prevent such airborn and lack of airflow bullshit from occurring during late bloomage till end of cycle.....

Environment MUST be dialed and maintained with big plants or you`re doomed from the get.....anyways......Keep dialin Bro and up yer game.....Only gets better from here.....bet on it.....

Plenty of ground support down here in vert-ville......

I am not to much worried about lights off humidity right now, I have plenty of air moving and more than enough CFM's to double my exchange twice per minute. I have a fresh air line from outside that draws fresh air in 24/7 and its nice and brisk out side.

Temps drop about 12 to 16 degrees at night inside the tent I know not exactly perfect but it drops the humidity as well for me so I will take it, without having to use a dehuey or heater this year is going to be nice, but I have them if needed. I am not running Co2 either so no leaching of unused gas to worry about humidity also.

This first run is a tester in more ways than I can explain. It is a new set up, new seeds, PPK, environment, so I am pretty much ready for something to go astray cause its all new to me but as long as I have guide lines, I just need to keep myself with in the perimeters and hope for the best but expect the worst.

Expect the worst and hope for the best is an excellent attitude and why ?.....

Keeps yas on yer toes and ready for action should anything go sideways....anyways...Handle it and good lookin out HB.....and....

Work on them lights on/off ambient temp within 10 degree variables.....Means more than most folks realize.......

Yeah the weather has been so weird lately its hard to gauge how the temps will be from day to day. I am sucking in fresh air and since it has been so cold recently my lights off temps have been a little bit low. My vent for outside air can be closed off if it gets too cold but I have to go all the way into the tent to close the vent, I am going to look around for possibly a duct vent that I can close almost like a back draft baffle something I can close off even if the lights are off so I don't introduce any unneeded light in the off cycle. I am sure there is something out there just got to find it.

Yeah I carry this attitude with me with a lot of different things, it keeps me from getting to laid back for 1 thing and like you said keeps me on my toes, cause in life you never know or can predict when something is going to happen so expecting something to go wrong helps you combat anything if problems shall arise.

I see tons of people that set out thinking they are going to be pulling #'s the first time out of the gate and I was one of those people when I first started years ago, but like any good first experience it started off good then I realized how unforgivable DWC bubble buckets were when the rot set in.
All I could remember was "man So in so never mentioned anything about or even say it was a possibility to get roots like this" finding out later it was root rot from my water getting to hot. After that first failure attempt at DWC I made damn sure I new everything I could possibly know about what I was getting myself into and new more about what could happen if I did slack off on something.
You have to start somewhere we all do, and I know how much someone can tell you not to do something but in your head you think " I am going to do it anyways" till you find out on your own that you should have just listened to DHF is the first Place.......... ;)

Availble from 6" to 12". Hook one to a heating thermostat to close the damper at the desired temp.

A little update, finally made it back to the hydro whore store and got the rest of the stuff I forgot to get the last time I was there. I was able to get the last plant up potted and my temps are closer to the 10 degree difference between on and off cycles. I am going to give the last plant a couple days to grab hold of her new pot before I flip the lights. There is already too many in the tent its going to be a cramped first run, but we will manage to get it done. I picked up some liquid Koolbloom and some flora bloom today also so I can experiment with my tweeked feeding twords the end of flower to get a better flush of the Nitrogen the last few weeks of flower into the flush. should be interesting. I will get some updated pics tomorrow.
