fuck ray lewis. very seriously, fuck that guy right in his neck.
never mind the obnoxious faux religious zeal (as if god—if there is such a thing—cares fuck all about the outcome of a football game).

he killed a guy. lewis and his boys had a dispute outside a bar with another guy.
so they stabbed him to death. poked him up with a knife til he bled out on the pavement and stopped breathing. now i'm no fucking angel and i understand how these things can happen, but that's not even the worst of it.

when the heat came down on lewis and he was arrested for doing some gangster shit, he didn't stay gangster. he showed himself for the punk motherfucker that he is. instead of keeping his mouth shut like a man, he immediately agreed to testify against his friends to save his own ass. he took the stand, under oath, and told the court that his boys did it all and he had nothing to do with any of it. what a snitching piece of shit.

i suppose in whatever neighborhood lewis shares with power brokers and captains of industry that doing slimy shit and then throwing your companions to the lions as soon as it suits your needs is probably the norm rather than the exception, but where I grew up, if you pulled some shit like that, you would not be able to walk down the street without a bodyguard.

Jay's got a terrible line; against elite edge rushers, he's got a human turnstile on his blind side.
I don't really like the fact that the Bears are going all in on Cutler; the Trestman hire was to appease him/bring out his true potential. Seems like a lot of the moves the front office has been making have been to make Cutler happy. Except, of course, getting a decent offensive line.
I'm not sure if I want all my eggs in the Cutler basket. Rockymountain would say that is a definite mistake, im choosing to remain cautiously optimistic.

Those are some nice violet hues, Simplegreen. Stuff must have been very purple during flower...

I used to hate on Ray-ray after the murder case, but if you really read about it you've discover some largely mitigating factors:
1. No one saw him stab anyone. He just pushed someone trying to break up a fight, from the testimony. For that matter, no one saw his cohorts stab anyone either, they just saw punches thrown.
2. The victim's party were the aggressors. Ray Lewis and his friends were getting into a limo, about to leave, when the littlest guy from the victim's party walked up to them and the fight broke out.
3. Someone from the victim's party had a gun and shot at the limo's tires as the limo sped from the scene.
4. Everyone was acquitted of murder. The jury believed they acted in self-defense, as it was implied the shell casings were found near the victim's bodies, suggesting one of the victims had a gun.

Unsavory factors:
1. Lewis did testify for the state in exchange for a plea to obstruction of justice. His testimony only serves to bolster the defense, as his cohorts were quickly acquitted. Perhaps it was a tactic by the defense, although his co-defendants were not happy.
2. Lewis was involved in a fight in which 2 men died. Wrong place, wrong time, wrong crowd.

I think with age though Ray has matured a lot and become someone worthy of admiration. He had become a better parent to his children, has become a mentor to younger players and in his own way tries to keep them from the same mistakes he's made. He's a God fearing man who tries to relate to the not as God fearing; instead of telling players to abstain, he tells them to wear a condom (he has 6 children born out of wedlock). Yes, once he was a full length mink coat wearing douchebag who was too full of himself but he's grown up since then. Is he perfect? No. But i think he's been a positive influence on other people, not just players, and that is admirable in what can be a cynical and bitter world.

He is a punk bitch. Have you seen the way he speaks to his coaches? I realize he has a piss poor line, but you gotta be a man and stop whining. Work together as a team and solve problems, less punk bitch, please.

When it comes to the ravens.. I have a hard time rooting for anyone so passionate about 'God' getting the team to the superbowl. It starts with Ray as a leader, you gotta give credit where credit is due.. Your team worked its ass off, don't give god credit for man made will.
