any kiss users have exp. with veg+bloom

Took the Purple Marty down today. Tried out a tester from a few days ago, just dry enough to burn, 2 good bowl hits and I was fried... This will be 1 week cured Christmas smoke. It should be pretty decent even after 1 week.

The end is very near for these girls.. Already at 90%+ cloudy with some scattered amber. Them big thick pistils just keep poppin so I'm letting them get their final push.

i was thinking about switching back to house and garden but the more i think about all the additives and hassle ive decided to keep the v+b lol. wasnt gonna switch due to a lack in performance, but more because im gonna be running a new system that i have tested the nutes out in yet. i was nervous for a bit but im gonna order my 5lb tub pretty soon! look forward to a nice 12 site ebb and flow bucket packed full of moscas tsi fly.

Go with the V & B .... just start out lower than normal & build up from there . i bet you'll be glad you did :)

Been chopping, here's an AK coming down tomorrow.. Sorry for the crappy pictures, I might get my good camera out tomorrow before I chop and get a few good pics.

silica is a great additive to raise the ph and also get some added benefit out of it. v+b has a little bit of silica in it but even the guys at v+b said a little more may be beneficial.... its definately not needed but like i said, it will raise your ph and give an added benefit

I have been using silica for a long time with my GH FloraSeries. just ttrying V+B to compare.. I like 5.8 to 6.0 with GH

There is no silica listed on the label

I guess one could make the argument silica is not a plant food....but chances are it is derived from KSil and you cannot claim K is not a plant food.

Kinda interesting and still not exactly trust inspiring to me

The addition of silica (ProTekt) caused problems for me. Normally V+B has a very predictable pH drop in my water (I use blumats, so it is basically DTW with no solution returned to the reservoir). Usually, the addition of the V+B puts me damn close to the end pH that I want. Adding the silica created the need to lower the pH substantially. The pH held steady for three days, I went out of town for 10 days, and when I returned the pH had dropped through the floor. It might work better with a recirculating system or different water, but for me it wasn't good.

I emailed Chris at Hydroponic Research about my experience, and he suggested that it might have been the result of a lack of carbonates in the V+B making it susceptible to pH swing when used with other products. He did say that at "normal strengths", V+B has between 30-50ppm of silica already in it.

just got the 1lb tub to give it a try. 3 waterings in and the plants are loving it so far as I can tell. switched in the middle of veg so was a little worried I'd stress them but doesn't seem so. Its too easy not to love and the pics here are hugely encouraging. Eased them in with .25tsp/gal and will up it next week to .5tsp.

my 5lb should get here to tomorrow. i cant wait to set up my new hydro system. just waiting on a few plants to finish up and then i will put it together and start the show. i want my clones to be at about a foot tall when i flower them. they stretch about 2.5-3x and i dont want 12 5 footers to battle with for 8 weeks lol. they have all been topped and supercropped and im hoping for some little monsters out of this system. im using growstones instead if hydroton this round. we'll see how that goes

progress. my shoddy attempt at v scrog lol. not exactly done up proper but still gonna be good i think. the other pic is of my AK's that i keep defoliating. they are day 2 of 12/12. i defoliate and then about 4 days later they are bushier than ever! im probably only gonna do it one more time. this will be the third time. they are looking super healthy and lush. i sprayed the hell out of them with neem/soap last night for the whiteflies. i think im gonna order some parasitic wasps or lady bugs and let mother nature duke it out lol

Around here, if you have white flies, you probably have root aphids..........
And the ones I had here, a lope was required to see them, or is that just me getting old?

Sorry if you do, happy if you don't

I can see why HR says to feed heavy at early flower & start tapering off by the 4th week . theres a little to much N in the mix for late flowering . it causes foxtailing & the buds are a little airy .
I'm doing just that with this round i have in now @ 3weeks . they'll get 1.8 till the 28th day ... then i'll taper down from there .

these are just finishing up & i ran 1.8 up till 45 days & i'm noticing i should have tapered off earlier .

DSCF0133_zps71a9fc5b.jpg

check out the foxtailing in the next 2 pics .... & the buds aren't as tight as they should be .

The Veg & Bloom works great for coco & I recommend it highly .... but use it sparingly & according to their directions . it doesn't react like other 1 part nutrients where you feed heavy or give a PK boost from days 35 to 45 . feed heavy in early flower & taper off at week 4 & you'll be happy you did .
just my 2 cents worth :)
