HL45.PPK.1.0 17lightsx2 Sealed with Co2

Some of them DO have the mag def that MisterD

Mag deficiencies while running Jacks equals (in my experience) buggers (RA/FG) in the RZ.

Hope I'm wrong, but that might be why Epsom salts wont fix it by modding the nute solution.

Mag deficiencies show up first with root damage (in my experience, for whatever reason.)

The thing is I have switched these plants around and the ones in the very middle always end up deficient while the ones that were moved from the middle end up getting nice and green again. Otherwise I would completely agree that it could be ra or fg. Cant quite put my finger on it....

DHF

Sounds like light bleachin/heat stress to me , that`s IF movin em away from the most intense lumen penetration makes em green back up and look normal afterwards.....but......

As all know......X can be anything......

Good luck Bro......Freds....:ying:....

Alright.

Well, foliage displays we call deficiencies show up when there is something missing in the leaf matter required for full metabolic activity.

That can happen when there isn't enough available of the mineral in the feed solution to an other wise healthy root zone.

It can happen when there too much of a mineral (causing an systematic electro-chemical imbalance we call lockout).

Or there can be a damaged root zone that isn't allowing the uptake of the necessary quantity of minerals.

As Freds mentions, light and heat stress can cause discoloration in the leaves. In my experience most of this is accompanied by other amorphous development.

Here's my hybrid idea: Root zone shit-heads have done enough damage to the roots that when the plants are in turbo mode in the center of the room, the nute uptake can't keep up with the metabolic demands of the canopy.

When they are moved into the chill spot, they can pick up enough nutes.

What we do know however, is that if you can fix the problem by moving the plant, it is not inherently in the nute solution. But rather something specific to the center of the room. (This presumes that increased light intensity accelerates all metabolic processes evenly, and makes an even demand on the whole of the mineral spectrum within the nutes.)

Root Zone Shit-Heads are around, and they cause suckage. We already know this. It makes the most sense to me from this side of the garden door.

I think you nailed it there with your "hybrid" idea, which is the domino effect from the first idea.
I have been thinking along the same lines but couldn't quite connect the dots.

hey, there is no way you need to add epsom to jacks as it is 6.32% mag sulfate already.

it is something to do with the plants overall reaction to light relative to feed strength or as ashes said damaged roots.

what is your feed strength?

are you still running co2? if so your input should be around ec 2.

Hey bro! Good to see you around. This is attempt number three to respond to your post. Ill keep it short.

My ec right now is 1.3

I am still running co2.
I just started week 8 and this is when the sour d really starts to pack it on.
Gonna keep co2 going for at least another week.

Hey HL45
How are the plants looking? I had that problem of mine going to shit when they were put under stronger light. Ashes' explanation sounds spot on regarding root damage but mine ended up not being root aphids but fusarium wilt.

Well as of now only one plant is affected.
This plant was in the corner only receiving light from two bulbs with most of the plant being against the wall.
I switched this plant to the middle since it was sooo much bigger than the rest. The other day I squeezed into the middle of the row and got a good look at the plant and noticed that the lower half of the plant looks healthy while the upper part has yellowed fan leaves.
Perhaps it is a combo of rootzone critters and light bleaching.

My ph seems to be higher than normal... Last two runs it stayed right around 5.8-6, now its 6.3-6.5 I still have a decent amount of jacks but I want to order some new bags and mix a concentrate. I know that one of the grobros wasnt mixing them separately on the first run, so the salt bags themselves probably are contaminated with salts from the other bag.
I also noticed that if my water isn't warm enough, the "hydro" mix will not break down completely, even hours later. I dont have any access to warm water, but if my 325 gallon res stays full long enough it gets warmed from the ambient temp in the shop.

Mixing concentrates will save me lots of time, I just need to sit down and figure out how concentrated I want to make them. Each system has two 32 gallon top off res's. So I need roughly 120 gallons at a time.
I am thinking that 1 or 2 grams of hydro per a ounce or 128-256 grams in a gallon is a good start. I need to look up the saturation point I think I remember it being about a pound to a gallon.

The end of their world is coming up......

That means its the start of ours!

one plant, larger than the rest so it will have a greater metabolic rate, moved into an area of more intense light, and fed ec 1.3. starts yellowing.

also fed increased co2 which is a nutrient that must be met by increased nitrogen.

just bump your feed level up to around ec 2 and i bet it goes away in about three days.

your ph will go down too.

the white crystal in the bottom after mixing is magnesium sulfate. that 6.32% is about twice what everybody else uses.

i'm still beating mine to death with a boat paddle in 3 44 gal brutes hooked together for a volume tank but i want one of those 325 gal cone tanks like you have with a pump and some valves installed to recirculate the tank while mixing.

I will increase the feed to ec2.

We did at one point mix nutes in the 325 gallon but decided to go back to water.

I have a 1/2" corded drill and a 2" paint mixing bit.
Two old ppk lids with the 2" hole go on top of the mixing buckets(hydro and calnit each have their own)
The drill is so loud that I also have a pair of ear plugs hanging right next to it.

After this harvest I am planning to plumb lines to each of the top of res' with a shut off Valve and float valve. Since the res is elevated everything will be gravity fed.

I am thinking about making a couple mini vortex brewers for the concentrated jacks. That way it mixes itself, and I only have to use the drill when mixing into the top off res. The drill drives my lady nuts.

Nuts.
I really like raw cashews, I bought over three pounds of them today. The cashier told me they have tryptophan in them. Tryppi

They have to be RAW cashews. Roasting breaks down the tryptophan..... I eat a mainly OG Raw diet. lol Just a few years ago I ate greasy bacon hamburgers at a bar almost everyday, pizza at least 2 times a week and lots of salmon burgers.

I don't even like roasted nuts lol. Something about them just doesn't taste right to me, doesn't matter what nut. Also for health reasons...... I used to be very unhealthy, pretty much lived off of fast/junk food, and alcohol. However when I was diagnosed, the doc told me best case I'd live another five years, no treatment available. Only thing he could offer me is pain killers, and a piece of advice. Live everyday like it's your last, because it really might be. Initially I thought well I'm fucked, may as well go live it up. So I did, partied, drank, fucked, smoked, and snorted everything in sight. Ever tried to tell a dying man to stop, or that he's had too much ? Guaranteed that conversation won't end well. My whole attitude was what's the worst that could happen, I die? This went on for around a year, before I met my girlfriend. Still to this day I don't understand how/why she stuck around for the first year, not sure she even does..... Anyway maybe a month after meeting me, at my worst mind you, this woman made it her life's mission to save me (If that isn't love I don't what is ). Let me tell ya, when my girl's mind is made up about something, NOTHING is going to change it. Took some serious convincing, but eventually she got me to start seeing the effects of the food I was consuming vs. what she was trying to feed me. Kind of snowballed from there, now I'm more of what I used to call a granola. Or health nut if that offends anyone lol. Ultimately I think it's all part of her master plan to turn me into a decent human being. There was a time when I was a real evil motherfucker....... I try not to let that guy drive anymore.

I also eat rabbit food. I havent been diagnosed with anything, but I did go through a phase where I was partying hard 8 days a week. My girl was also key to healing myself from cranial rectumitis.

Now we are healing people with diet.
Its amazing what diet can do for you! Let food be thy medicine!

I am a smoothie junky now. I juice a couple apples, throw the fresh juice into my blender add 4 leaves of kale, banana, blueberrys and some cashews every morning. The trick is you got to have a good blender, belndtec or vitamix. We make soups in the blender, dips, sauces, nut cheeses, all kinds of stuff. I love my blender.

One patient of mine has grand mal seizures and after reading a few books decided to give raw food a chance. This guy was a major fast foody. He has lost 40 pounds just from a diet change in two months. Juicing fan leaves is next on the agenda.

If you havent seen the "gerson miracle", or "dying to have known" check them out. Also "food inc" is a good one.

One of my many aspirations is to have a decent aquaponics system that feeds me, that about as low impact, organic and local as it gets IMHO.

Havn't seen "dying to have known", but i've seen the other two. Actually plan to visit the gerson clinic in mexico next year. The book has been a big source of information/help for me and my girl. I'm hoping that a few months of intense regimented diet may reverse some of the damage my illness has done. Not holding my breath to be cured, but any extended amount of "good" time would be great. A quality blender is definitely a great investment in a persons health. I have a commerical kitchenaid that honestly would eat a vitamix for lunch . A good juicer rates right up there also . Hoping santa brings me one that presses everything instead of pulverizing to pulp. Would allow me to start juice leaves from defoilation sessions. Been studying aquaponics in my spare time for a few years now. Definitely on the "to do" list, but time and energy are limiting factors. All in good time I suppose......

The emulsifers are where it's at.

Im on the raw juice bandwagon. 23kg down so far.

In my case getting healthy came from getting rid of my nutjob pain in the arse woman. Its amazing how much clearly i can think and see without constant nagging and abuse. Altho she used to do the trimming (the 1 job i really hate)

You cant beat a good woman tho

Yeah the norwalk juicer is where its at! The are around 2500 I think. Im at least a few rounds away from that. You can get a green power twin gear for around $400 that will juice fan leaves. I just got one and its great!

I have two jacuzzi tubs and a bunch of 10" pvc that was once used for an nft system that I am gonna use for my aquaponics system. For now they are just sitting outside getting snowed on. Theres an aquaponic farm in Hawaii that is certified OG through Oregon Tilth. I really want to check them out, they have free tours once a month.

You ever see dave the raw food trucker? He lost 240lbs and cured diabetes and cancer with juices. Check him out on youtube.
