Durban Poison

A friend of mine ordered some Durban Poison seeds from Amsterdammarijuanaseeds.com about 3 years ago and gifted the pack to me, just wondering if anyone has experience with this company if so does this companies DP stock come from a reputable source? Also what are the "keeper" phenos of Durban Poison.

You ever had that "sharkey" feeling at the beach before?

Durban Poison is a real favorite in the Med State pharmacies.

The bigger mystery is why no one ever talks about it.

Probably don't want to share where they got the seeds.

Based on my research I would try Dutch Passion or Seedsmans Durban x Skunk 1.

I agree with your assessment. They are not above board in their advertising.

They used false advertising when they used the old website of an on-line coffeeshop that existed a few years ago (yes, illegal) to advertise their seeds, hinting at the idea that they would also send weed.

Their seeds are very expensive, and there are much better places to buy DP from

Trends my friend lol, I am only growing them out because they were free and he asked me to grow them for him. He said he purchased DP seeds because they were easy to grow and grew well outdoors.

They came with 20 free White Widow x Skunk seeds that I wont touch for a couple months.

DP is one of my favorite landrace strains. It has a very complex citrus, anise odor and taste. The buzz is racy and motivating. I would grow them all out and pick the best mix of smell, taste, buzz and yield. Flowering time should be around 10 to 11 weeks with some phenos being a little shorter and some being a little longer. That is if these beans are DP...never ordered from that website and have no idea how reputable they are...

All 10 seeds germed within 28 hours, and sprouted out of the ground within another 24 hr period, and now are on their first node. Some of the sprouts are extremely lanky, the t5 they are under is no more than 5" away from the top of the containers too. Does anyone happen to know what training technique they respond best to? I was going to top twice then LST, and incorporate super cropping to build and keep the canopy even if it became called for.

Grew Durban Poison back in the late 90's. I can't remember the source, and don't know if it's a true representation of what's being called DP these days but I do remember it was, and still is one of my favourite plants to grow. They were straight on sativa, took them to over 100 days if I recall correctly. Best sativa I've ever grown bar nun!!!! Most of the more recent versions I've seen appear to have far more indica influence. I think it is crossed with Skunk or something to that effect? I topped, super cropped, twisted, tied down...the heck out of them to keep them in check as they stretched quite a bit during flowering...they responded very well to this method. Still remember that spicy licorice taste, very racy and psychedelic. Used to love to wake and bake that stuff!

hi calcioerba and respect.. i would correct you a little bit if i can real durban landrace flowers for 100+ days and its hermie thing durbans which flower for 10_11 weeks are durban/skunk1 in most cases... sam the skunkman´s selection...

durban is good.. but if its how high you can get, i would choose congo or malawi, or thai over it...

There are Durban Poisons from Afropips, Dutch Passion (and there used to be from CannabisMarijuana website, but their e-mail bounces nowadays).

There are better and (just going by the THC listed on the website) stronger African landrace sativas around.

Malawi Gold - also from Afropips, or from ACE Seeds.

ACE Seeds are excellent, by the way. I ordered China Yunnan from them directly and they were the fastest germinating seeds I have ever seen. When I put them in a cup of water, they sank to the bottom immediately. Pretty amazing, I've never had that happen before.

I got some Swazi seeds from the server fund last year. I wonder how that one compares to the Durban Poison.

I saw some incredible budshots of Urban Poison; supposed to be really great.

I didnt grow it nor do I even know the grower. A friend deals and knows I like sativas (he always calls me when he has panama, cat piss, durban, ect). I swapped a quarter with him.... I always smoke tye sativas faster cause the potency and buzz are different (sometimes shorter lived as well). But its very heady and not clear (which i sometimes hate), has bold exotic flavors and the best part is I can smoke it at 4am if I wanted to and not be put into a weed coma lol.

Durban Poison is like the "espresso" of cannabis. The raciest sativa I know of, it's a stimulating and clearheaded high with no trace of numbing or "stoning." It wakes you up, cuts through the bleary fog and leaves you clearheaded and bright, gives you energy to go and seize the day. Gives tons of energy and also an intense emotional euphoria... where everything is vibrating and you can't take the smile off your face. Can cause anxiety and paranoia if you are upset, it doesn't make you numb. Recommended for mountain biking, jogging, driving, studying, reading, and partying / socializing with smart people. My sample had purple leaf overtones, a licorice / anise smell and taste. FIRE.
