Canna Boost V Molasses - side by side comparison.

Great thread, I read it back to front and couldn't stop till I finished. I don't think I will spend the bucks for the boost but mollasses has been part of my growing for years. I typically add it in conjunction with either organic teas or with Maxicrop liquid seaweed. If the grow is hydro I would add it mixed 1 tablespoon of liquid seaweed and 1 1/2 teaspoons of mollasses per gallon at 30 ounces per 2.5 gallons of soil weekly. This seems very beneficial! Good smelling /firm tasty buds. I loathe to spray anything on my buds as my high humidity combined with spraying could easily cause mold or budrot. I will spray during vege stage and generally I use a mix of 1 teaspoon of dawn dishwashing liquid, a tablespoon of corn oil in a gallon of water. This is a major greenup spray that makes plants beautiful, I don't know whats in the corn oil but something good is in there. I had a run with seeds where I used a high phosperous fert (BR-61 2 tsp per gallon), epsom salts (2 tsp per gallon) and calcium (powdered vitamin pills at 1/4 teas per gallon) instead of seaweed/mollasses and potency was off the charts. The plant I chose as a mother for the next run was not quite as powerful and I used the seaweed/mollasses during flower using the same medium and base nutes. I can't say really if the plant I chose as the mother plant for my clones was a bit less potent than the other plants or the different additives made the difference. I decided to drop that plant and start some more of the same seeds to try the experiment again. She was not as "frosty" as three of the original seed plants. The problem with these experiments is that they take months to run and excluding variables is tough.

I find Bio Canna Vega and Flores to smell a lot like molasses. Boost less so, it's also more liquid whereas the Vega/Flores are really thick syrupy.
I use boost sparingly, I don't really expect that much from boosters if you've already got a good organic soil going. Besides dosages are probably way exagerated too on such expensive products.

Rafe, you can use molasses all the way through, but if you flush your plants during the last week or more you probably don't want to use it. It tends to make things taste a bit nasty if used right before chop, and I think it is because it contains nutrients.

lol...I know some feel like it sweetens things up, but I will have to respectfully disagree with those folks. :)

I agree, the back of my bottle lists the contents, P and K are near 1000mg/100g, which is near 1% in weight! You don't want to use a PK booster up until harvest ;)

hiya all, izzyw, not to far from you brother/sister,, joining this thread rather late, but feel i had to share my feelings around canna-bio boost, i am just coming up to cut -down with my ice cream, after many years of using top max, green sensation, i recently swapped over to canna products including pro-mix soil, and i am hugely impressed with bio boost, i hit mine in wk7and 8, and when i started my pure water flush, the bio boost kicked in big time with my girls swelling like hell, seemed much stickier even plants [more indica-like phenos] that i thought were done were pushed a bit further, my early impressions are it seems to be in the timing with boost, get the timing near on and you will really notice the diff,i only used it for 2wks, thanks for this thread op, peace and safe growing all, s2

I've seen too much molasses cause lockout issues, at least we're pretty sure it was the mol asses, he was giving them 2 tablespoons per gallon every watering and feeding, he cut it down to molasses every other watering and eventually feeding every watering but molasses every other time with good results.

Can u elaborate a little on molasses causing lockout? I was using it and the whole garden showed what looked like Ca def it affected the tops and centers of growth. I stipped adding molasses to my feedings and they turned around in no time.

I have experienced no link to lockout using molasses but I tend to not overdo the molasses either.

canna has a fancy mini documentary about what canna-boost does

http://www.cannagardening.ca/about_cannaboost#video

it doesn't seem like its anything even remotely similar to molasses, the guy even goes outta his way to mention no sugars/carbs

seems more like floralicious, liquid karma, b-52, thrive alive etc... the generic growth accelerators most companies make with vitamins, kelp, humates etc...

He say the main active ingredient is Oligosaccarides, he does that at 2.27 min.

And that is 2 to 10 monosaccarides bound together so its sugar chopped up, like he say its fermented fore months..

Oligosacs are not digested by animals but end up in oure gut system where it help bacteria to grow, the same will it do when is watered into soil stimulate fermentation

They add oligosacs to dog food to stimulate digestion in soil they would promote bacterial growth

This is how i think they are making it..

Some Soyabean cake or other high protein source are put into fermentation tanks like they show.

After they properly add some enzyme to brake down the product.

U have enzymes that can break down what u want, barley enzymes would do the job fine

After they add molasse and let it ferment fore some time, after they filter and put in fancy bottels...

What kind off strain they use to ferment with idk but soya ferment by nature so that would be a good choice also smell wise in the end product..

How does that Canna boost smell and taste like =))))

boost is awesome
whatever it is.
if you are dialed in and know your strains, itll add that extra "shine" and give you a more polished product. itll push you from putting out A- buds to A/A+.

i think it smells great. for something fermented.
whats its taste like? you fucking drink it hahahaha i just feed it to my plants.

seriously though, I think it is a metabolic stimulant of some kind that helps the plant take in and use all the nutrients and minerals it needs to be the best specimen it can become. kinda like a steriod.

its good stuff

I had the impression they were trespassing on a private farm. I mean, do you really think some farmer is going to let them put some untested product on his plants that they wont even tell you whats in it? Let alone something that costs $100 a liter being used on a commercial agricultural farm?

I meant by how sketchy the guy seemed... Like they had just tied up the farmer and forced him to let them use his property for a youtube vid.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhh

I get it now

Yeah man right on he is a liitlw hurry up lets go talking loud cause hes nervous haha

My bad
Im on the slow bus

fermenting tofu shouldnt be too hard with this barley enzyme.

is there a simple process for extracting the particular enzyme/s?

im not sure boost has molasses in at all, unless it eventually stops fermenting?

im currently using both and the buds are HUGE, but not all the way down.
