Hand watering is the most reliable method of watering
You CAN overwater too. I transplanted 6" square pots with Pro Mix into 5 gallons of coco. Watered until they ran off. That was over a week ago and they are just barely STARTING to dry out. I think I will have better results with my next clones going directly into Coco however. The current problem is due to overwatering, they are not getting nutrients and are showing deficiencies. Still very intrigued by the medium. I think I will do 3 gallon pots (maybe even 2 gallons) and eve and flow them.
One thing I have learned is you can over water if your pot is too big for your root system....What I do when I transplant is pre charge the coco then I squeeze the excess water out and don't water them till they start to dry out , once I see roots poking out the bottom I water them daily .
Yeah for sure you can overwater, it creates a stagnant/low oxygen enviroment for the rootzones.
1 transplanting small rootzones into large pots of coco, you want to let those roots fill out and occupy the coco before you really start watering more frequently. Also let the rootzones fill in the pot before you flower12/12, I notice small buds and streching problems when I've flowered the plant and it has not filled out the pot.
2. You can have great results with coco with no runoff but the problems is it is very easy to overwater this way, you don't want to leave your plants in standing water for more than like 30 mins, you kill your roots that way. When you have a place for the run-off to go wether it be a few dribbles or a gallon you don't have to worry about overwatering unless(see 1.). You don't need a whole lot of run-off.

I'm new here, and have some questions before my first coco coir grow.
I'm going to use this set :
2x Bubblegummer FS seeds
1x Black Sugar FS seed
3x Air-pots 15L
50L Plagron Coco coir
Cocos A + Cocos B Plagron
Plagron Roots
Plagron Enzymes
Plagron PK
Plagron Green Sensation.
And now my questions :
1. I'm gonna sprout seeds in coco coir, but should I do it in Airpots or in regular small pots, as did it when using soil ?
2. Should I use root+coco a+coco b from beginning ? Or should wait like when using soil ?
3. I'm gonna use plagron grow schedule (http://www.plagron.com/nl-nl/kweekstijl/1/1/4/100-coco.aspx) is it ok or maybe change something ?
Will be glad for any other advices !

little update just for you..
this my the result of my plant growing indoor, with hot summer..
1 plant under 600w = 345 gr (12oz) of dry buds.
BIG big red spider colonization , but the result speak for himself.

1. I never use airpot, for me its just a commercial pot, I suggest to use regular pot. for germination, you can do like a soil.
2. yes you can, and you give plagron coco A+B after 10 days.
3.I can't help you. I using CANNA COCO, and recommend it..

NIce harvest Maxhouse looks like u got about 50% of the suge on your fingers,...ever heard of these things they got out called , laytex/neoprene gloves ,... try em out , lol

I'm a new grower and I'm about to transplant some seedlings into coco... I have smart pots.
My question is since I will be watering by hand, can I leave the water that drains into the pan or should it be removed? I don't want to attract insect or have mold or fungus because of that...

You should drain off any runoff daily.. you dont want the roots sitting in stagnant runoff.. and it will keep the humidity down in your room..

I'm not to worried about humidity right now... I have to use a humidifier to get to 45-50 RH as it is... The roots are a different story though...

I'm using PH perfect with coco in smart pots... The ph of my water is 7.7 and after adding the nutes I still use ph down to get to 5.8-5.9...
I feed full strength nutes last week every feeding and I think it's too much for my plants, so I'm going to reduce it to 3/4 strength...I've been told to alternate nutes and water on a daily basis which I may try as well...

Smart pots are fabric pots that air prune the roots...

I wouldn't say it's a problem with the nutes because my plants look great! I'm just going to feed less nutes and tailor feeding to each plant instead of giving them all the same strength...
The ph that it adjusts to should be in the correct range... I just want it lower because its really meant to be used with RO water, which has a PH of 7
