What's so great about OG?

OG is such a legend that it spawns hype and trolls everywhere, I'm sure this thread will have its fair share of disagreements if it catches any traction.

What about it makes it so great?
Its just a great flavor/aroma with a powerful high that, when compared to something else, usually is better in the "I want another bowl of that one" category.

That is dank; when you can't resist and you just gotta have that 'expanding lung blasting greasy lemon fuel, bomb sizzle snap :)biglaugh: for the half baked reference) OG'

its not piney, its more of a lemon diesel/fuely with that 'kush' earthyness in there. Well grown OG smell is akin to the Pineapple Express scene where you just wanna shove it up your nose and have that smell alllll day long haha. I'm pretty sure growers huff jars of OG like glueheads, I know I do. Different cuts have different nuances but when something "tastes like OG" its 'lemon fuel' basically. Some are more pronounced than others.

any grower who has a 'top 10' has 'OG' on that list (if not top 3)

Excellent information. What do people think about Tahoe OG compared to the others? Who made this cut and is that Tahoe NV or some other place it originated from? Thanks for the replies...:smoker:

One cut is thru Swerve from Tahoe. Sure there are others. Just like the garbage you hear "this og is from norcal" or etc. It never ends. For the.most part, if you have a legitimate og cut (not from seed, and regardless of exact cut) you will have dank that peeps will be high fivin after blazing.

LOL 'swirl' did NOT bring any OG's to the scene. Just pollen chucked the clone onlys he picked up in CA and did a poor job of it at that.

Tahoe OG is not related to swerve at all except for his poor CC version shares the same name so he can sell packs.

I'd stay away from Cali Conn for true representations of OG, all of his have at one point been crossed to an Afghani. And from what I have seen the ghani shines thru quite frequently.

Everyone seems to talk about it(this is the gazillionth thread like this in the last year)...
Not Ocean Grown, Not Original Gangsta...nothing to do with Tahoe...citrus/diesel funk that stays on the tongue for a long time. It hits hard to the head but I think it is more popular for the smell and taste. If weed was candy, OG would be taking a handful of skittles and shoving them in your mouth. I find the buzz kinda boring and non productive. Popular music and movies have helped out a lot too. If the "cool" Hollywood and music industry people smoke it then it has to be the best right? :joint:

Many great crosses being made with OGs as the basis. If there is only one true OG then there are alot of great S1s floating around!

Great smoke and a challenge to grow. Cloning is a batch to say the least. Find a good representaive and you will understand what the hype is about.

Taste and smells do range from the piney to lemony in varying degrees and intensitys on the 10 or so ones I have grown. Taste and smell is very unique to the individual so what smells like pine to one person could be lemony to another.

Alot of beans floating around so you dont have to have a clone only to be in the game. At this point 99% of growers dont know if they have a clone or S1 anyways.

Short lived high that can leave you unproductive if you smoke all day, like most do. Not sure why everyone has trouble growing OGs they are a breeze in living soil and they yield heavy with proper training. I enjoy growing them and the money they made me more than smoking them now. But I still open the OG when the day is winding down. I have better strains in my garden, most of those take at least 90 days to reach their potential though.

Worst Thread..I was going to say ever...but maybe since the last one exactly like this...

Search for the answer dude...don't ask every stupid question that pops in your head.

I have learned so much about kush/diesel/chem before I ever had an account...now, many years after hearing about it, I like to smoke different samples...try it.

I know because I am here and I have grown them. And I have been to other places and know what people outside of Cali call OG, it ain't OG 95% of the time! I know people that don't post online or care to share on the internet. These are the real people on the ground. I'm not going to sit here and argue with you. Yes I know that OG didn't come from California but the cuts did...you guys think whatever you want or believe everything you read on an internet forum. I know what I know to be true because I have sit and discussed with big scale growers who have grown OGs from reliable sources...AKA The San Fernando Valley...and I don't mean from a dispensary...
