if your canopy is full of large enough plants, the gsc is just as good for yield imo compared to many other popular things. Its no cash croppers stuff though thats for sure

the dense nugget seems to make up for its internode spacing imho

also one thing i noticed about the gsc is that the larf buds r almost non existent, with the lowest nugs getting fairly dense compared to other stuff i.e. blue dream where the larf is super airy and schwibby...

pretty much sums it up..been having lots of convos about this with folks. the shit yield is probably gonna keep her out of most growrooms as cash cropping is simply not the best with GSC...maybe when it was 4k a LB but prices have come down...i had one of my thickest canopies to date and still only hit 1lb per light...whereas my OG tray next to it has nugs 3x as big and the yield is shittin on GSC


2lbs of Blue Dream per light @ 2300 each vs 1 lb of GSC a light at 36...you are losing a thousand bucks per light...run 10 lights and thats 10k you are missing out on. and ALLL the movers and shakers would rather take cheap blue dreams right now because expensive GSC is only for special markets....i guess if you go super SOG and do high plant counts you can hit 1.5 with GSC but i havent tried that yet..


so yeah sad to say but most of us are going back to cash crop strains to help fight against the impending massive outdoor flood...even if outs are 15 a pop you can still get low 22-23 for good quality indoor...

^^^That's the truth right there. 10K less in your pocket is a big hit. Beautiful for head stash...terrible for cash cropping. The exception is if you do like Lump and run high numbers with very little veg. time. The stretch will more than make up for the reduced veg, and the yield should be decent with the SOG approach.

If I DIDN'T run GSC the last 3-4 harvests, I would of been up 5-6+ lb's...

Have to do 1 more run with it, because i already took the clones, after that its HEAD STASH ONLY....

Anyone ever try using bud igniter or bud blood with the cookies..?? I use that on my ogs and they never double in height.. ever... plus they seem to stack way more that way.. my boy also told me about using fire from heavy 16 the last two weeks of veg along with the foliar and he says side branching exploded and it kept the height in check really good. Dude swears by it..

Just wondering if anyone has used any of those three to try and control height..??

but how do you fight outdoor Blue Dream with indoor BD. In CO a 2 lb indoor plant is not as good as an outdoor 2 lber...maybe better than an 8 lber...but lb for lb the UV here makes outdoor better.

long as you keep em under say 4 lbs outdoor here flat rules over indoor...I don't care how good you are.

maybe tables vs 10 lbers there is a diff. but a shitload of 2 lbers ain't that hard to hide.

Oh lord those buds look soo good. I've had 1 bowl of it, and let me tell you this strain is worth the hype, the taste is phenomenal.

Has anyone noticed that rappers picked up hyping the trend on this strain much quicker than others(i.e. OG's, BD other 'elites')? Maybe because it really hit the scene so much quicker at a rapid rate(because its so good)?

Yeah well I always thought that. A few years back I helped a breeder friend get his gear into a seed bank and I talked to the owner. His suggestion was name nothing like Cotton Candy, etc. so as not to attract attention. When I first saw the name GS Cookies it kind of rubbed me the wrong way for various reasons. It is what it is though.

This year for me has been the worst yielding year in my growing carreer. There are soooo many new small grows popping up everywhere that I have to do the specialized market genetics that are lower yielding, longer flowering, like the Sweetn'Sour Blueberry I made, just to get any sales at all.

Ive been testing out strains for 5 years to find my niche. Only keeper Ive found for life so far is the BCBD PURPS. Gets nanners though sometimes. I got massive amounts of seed for later. Havent grown it in a year or so. I wanted to test the other best of the best like BlueBerry - SSSDH - SSH - ECSD -JLB and on and on.

Flying Dutchmans G-Force was my cash cropper for yield but I lost it. So Im trying out the C+. A lb of my headies goes for 4800 over here at the lowest end. But I never sell a lb. I usually only get around 20 oz per harvest on average w/ 2- 600w HPS lamps.
So its 50/100/150/300. So sometimes I can get 5800 if I slice it out in smaller wieghts.

Testing strains and running multiple strains has cost me LB's and LB's - Thousands and thousands with big plants, uneven canopies, running from seed and not clone, low yielding plants that I didnt like, Very High yielding plants, that I should have kept a mom of, but didnt find the herb "good enough", low plant count in the rooms, and everything else that cauzes low yields in order to find the best of the best to bring my fellow countrymen who I feel deserve the best smelling, best tasting, highest potency medicine on Earth.

Ive sacraficed so much yield and money to find THE 4 BEST STRAINS IN THE WORLD.
I want the best:
PURPLE - BCBD PURPS
HAZE - maybe sssdh?????????(IN TESTING RIGHT NOW)
INDICA -?????????
LANDRACE SATIVA -Maybe JLB w/20 week flower time???????? (IN TESTING NOW)

I need money and I need it badly. But I love the plant so much that I just cant take a so-so fast yielding indica and SOG the hell out of it to get a lb per lamp and expect my people to be happy. They can get that all day long and usually do. For 3600.

But here I come with some unique, never before tried SSSDH or something stellar like that and Im in like flint. But it took a whole month and a half longer to flower, I invested more rent and bills to get to the harvest, and I get the same 300 an oz I would have gotton of say an OG Kush with a much quicker flowering time. Thats not good business sense at all.

But I love the hobby and plant so much that I deal with the financial burdens for years so I can bring the best medicine in the world to those who need it. Thats all that matters in the end.
I sacrafice my own financial gains and do things right so my friends dont have to smoke hydroponically grown "beasters" that sparks when they smoke it, or smoke mexi brick weed thats been sprayed with whatever bad stuff and seed oil leaks into all the weed when its compressed for shipping. YUKK!

The plant has always come before myself. Thats for sure.

talk about terrible years.. i had to shut down my op.... and move back home... and now i have to sling buds that i pick up from a friend.. and try to save for a place so i can grow my own again.. i have tons of fucking genetics... and a friend of mine is holding 15 strains of mine in a 4x4 tent i had to buy just to get him to watch my genetics until i get my head above water...


before i shut down.. we had a inline fan shit the bed turning lites on.. getting the room up to 100 and fucking up half the harvest.. not to mention the grow before that.. had a strain hermi and seed the grow.... then before that... got robbed for a qp of hash ! from my so called partner!

talk about BAD YEARS.. im fucking pissed.. i have some good genetics.. and another 1000 seeds to try once i get my place !!

I was in a homeless shelter trying to figure out what Im gonna do. I get a job and work like 60 hours a week for 2 months while in the shelter and buy all the equipment and get an apt. I got a partner to get me through cauze I lost my job the week I got the apt.

I do all the growing and pay half the bills. He almost matches my equipment and pays half the electric. We split the harvest 50/50 for 2 years. I got screwed more than I made on that 1. Plus took all the risk. It sucked. I buy him out and tell him to walk. I finally get a harvest to myself with all the equipment and all the harvest to myself and Im finally, after 2 years, FINALLY gonna get enough to move someplace better and I would have had about 30 grand to skip town and start fresh when half way through flowering....about 5 weeks in....this guy I know breaks into my house while Im with my kid and ruins everything.

I still had all my equipment minus a ballast,bulb,and shield but I had to chop everything and pack everything up and move without any harvest at all and wasted investments getting them to that point. I was sooo close to FINALLY do something with my life and its all gone in 1 hour. Ive been trying to recover ever since. But this is expected and Im smarter, wiser, and more disciplined than ever before.

Anything purple will move in the south for top dollar nothing new there. on the east sours still reign supreme, my peeps in nyc wont even touch ogs, cookies or not. its all a local market thing and clearly the cookies fall into that category, but as someone who has grown most of the clones floating around out there, i dont see how a watered down og is gonna be a bigger star than the og its self. actually most of the people in the 707 havent even heard of it and when i ask if they have come arcoss any cookies they just laugh and say , no what the hell is that, i need 50 ogs on tuesday....

This post is old, but why does everyone assume that crossing something waters it down?

Mendo Purps x OG Kush melted my fucking face off.

OG is way better with mendo in the mix. So why not with some other strains?

Watered down happens when something gets overly inbred or stabilized, imo. In that case, watering down is supposed to be a good thing.

it could be a lot worse.... my mom WILL NOT let me live at home, i cant grow in my own place because for the reduced rent rate i have monthly inspections AND i dont have ANY weed and havnt for over a week ...... im getting fuckin depressed without my smoke. iv had my place bobbed like 3 times, the biggest loss being a 3 quarter lb bag id just bought plus some other stuff ( my "best friend" tipped a kid off to robb my house ), iv had 5 MONTHS of growing and sobriety down the drain when the cops took all me plants and gear and iv been left without a home 3 times in the past 6 years...... it could be a lot worse...
