Good for Keller if he can book his place like that... just not going to find me vying for a place at the table. Sometimes fine food is just so over the top... that's not me at all.
For the record, I like a fatty cut. Ribeye man all the way. But I like my fat to be at the edges, all sizzled up on the grill, not completely permeating every bite. Not to say a bit of marbling isn't a good thing.
Zazu has been on my list for a while but they never have room when its convenient for me. There isa great tapas place in downtown Napa called Zuzu. I love eating in SF as much as Napa, but its much further away and therefor not my area of expertise. I have some favorite sushi and pizza joints in SF and find myself frequenting those spots rather than digging into the Zagat guide when I am going to be in the city. Last week I met a friend at a bar/restaurant in Soma that i don;t even know the name of and had a Papardelle with duck ragut, greens and toasted breadcrumbs that blew me away. Could have had it for twice the price in some overdecorated douche lair and been super happy.
Napa's a hop skip and jump from me and, because its a food tourism scene, its a little more egalitarian in terms of getting a table.
Oh... back on topic... i just killed my last GSC mom... not sure what was going on with her, but she was simply not happy. Having already brought broadmites and PM into my garden, and not knowing what is wrong with her I decided just to get rid of her before I get root aphids or some other crazy shit. I am two weeks into a run and I will be on vacation for the first time in 18 months during week 4 and part of 5. The room and rez change protocols are pretty dialed and my assistant is pretty on top of his shit. But I would hate for him to run into some new pest or fungus problem in my absence.
I know I could have taken a cut from her, but I am in teardown mode in the cloning department.... and I just don;t need the hassle. I have this upturn in the sides of my leaves... i have looked under a USB scope and I see no discernable eggs... but it still has me on my toes. Maybe I did not knock out the broadmites??? This is some shit i wish i did not have to deal with right now.
