What's new

Mister D's Vertical Redemption

Lol... I'm still waiting for somebody to beat me to the punch... Bring it. ;). I already have my genetics sorted... Which is a key a lot of you are missing.

Edit: as far as the flushing... Idk b/c i haven't been doing it long enough... But RO to runoff seems to work well... And don't forget to feed right away with cal/mag.

What's the bet? ;)

And what genetics are you planning to run to get there?

Sorting through 40 seedlings right now looking for "The One".........

All things are possible with dialed vertical setups yield wise.......Glad ta see yas up and runnin again Bro....

Been wonderin where yas went.....and yeah....it`s the little things that help across the board Mr D and you know this.....but....

I`ve never once made a post on any forum that wasn`t fact from personal experience learned from the best in the business over the yrs , so I`m glad the SM-90 worked out for yas....

Krusty said get it to prevent rootrot and I did ....Back then....it was a given....Trust your mentors....they`ve been there , done that....and as an added bonus....

Nutrilife couldn`t market SM-90 as an organic insecticide in Cali`s "med market" and only got labeled as a wetting agent , and prolly why it never caught on in the wild wild west hydro market , but...

Rest assured that SM-90/Coriander based oil in suspension "encapsulates ALL media "critter larvae" regardless of what species and refuses to let the eggs hatch THUS eliminating the life cycle without possible return while smothering any that have hatched per feedback over the yrs.....Regardless....Awesome shit....Keep it in the regimen....bet on it.......

I preach the little things cuz critter control is somethin I`ve never dealt with in my life due to innoculating my mediums in advance........except once.....

Somehow I allowed fungus gnat larvae to proliferate , hatch , and fuck with me early on when I went full coco for production.....

Went to Lowe`s and bought "Skeeter Dunks" laced with Bacillus Thurengensis Israeleinsis/sp and crumbled em up and top dressed each container and watered em in....

Never had problems again....Mr D...Love the Clean room/open door then go through the next for negative pressure and smell prevention.....but 1 things fer sure....

Bobble`s is waaay ahead of me fer critter prevention with the proper chems it takes to do the job....

I just never had problems due to me makin sure my shit was close to perfect before plants went in any medium , be it lava rock I ran for almost 15 yrs before coco , or the almost 5 yrs before shutdown I spent dialin the chunks , fibers and perlite mixes.......

Hereta help and lookin fer good things Bro , so .....Handle it and.....

Peace....Freds....:ying:.....

Yea bob ya got a lil edge on me in the genetics department. I know my girls needs pretty damn well at this point, but i've always grown them as trees which isn't necessarily ideal structurally speaking for the racks. Though the bogglegum and cenex show alot of potential in my mind, have to see how they play once in the system. Romulan and jack have enough stretch for short veg times, and both yield pretty well when things are dialed. The clones I have rooted right now are a mix of mostly jack, romulan, and cenex, with some bogglegums and a single dead man's kush. Going to be a test run to see what works best in the system, then on to monocropping

Tommy you want in on this too? Who can pull 10lbs dry from 3 600's first :plant grow: Sounds like a bet to me

God damn it, I'm gonna run into the garage and take a picture right now and I'm not gonna give up tonight until I figure out how to post this fucker.

Tommy vs. ICMAG Photo Posting, Round II.

For the record, although you'll see 4 stacked 600s in the pic, I give you my word that only three are on at any one time.........

I have 3 large chem D moms, and 5 large strawberry d x chem d moms.... Those are the monster yielding plants. I'm also going to run ECSD, USD, and Headband... In different rooms. Mostly I'll be growing chemdog genetics.

no offense dewd... But you might wanna pop another 60 seeds... Lol...:moon:

Well damn fred didn't know you were lurking to, honored to have ya here. I never slowed down, just had to take a break from the mag to handle real life. Paying for a family members cancer treatments (10K+ a month ouch). Had to ramp up production to account for this. Threw up another 6 lights at my other spot and all the goodies to keep my room sealed. 20 600's total at both spots. Not the easiest task for someone in my condition, but i'll handle it cuz that's what needs to be done. Anyway ya I know you and krusty have always advised sm-90 really not sure why I never tried it before now. It is killing the baby through adult stage aphids. So it's mode of action works on all stages of life, not just the eggs. Did RDWC for years without rot because krusty, heath, and you pounded the importance of high DO in my head (and how to get it ). Guess i've just never needed it before now, so I didn't buy it. I trust my mentors, but i'm very skeptical by nature. Though that has had me in the "should have listened sooner" situation more than once. Looking forward to seeing what I can pull out of this system, and feel blessed to have so many top notch growers to learn from and bounce ideas off. Sky truely is the limit with vertical bulbs.

Respect...Family`s everything....Anything I can do ta help just Holler....but....

You know what time it is...Up the game and yield accordingly....Just like family....Environment`s everything as well with the girls.....so...

We can make yer Bitches hoon Bro....I`ll be over here on my bucket....

DHF - Truer words have never been spoken. I do whatever it takes to make sure my family is good. Glad ta have ya in my corner freds. I owe most of my grow knowledge to you and small handful of others that have been good enough to share. I know the rules and will exploit them to make these bitches give up every gram. I'm sure i'll have some questions for you and bobble on the road to nirvania.

now tommy... To be fair, you've been running that system a while now... Not that I'm scurred... :smokey:

Now if we could only talk him into lossing those fool tubes :chin:.

Tommy - Glad ta help bro. No worries about clogging the thread. This is just a spot to hang out and share what we've all got going on. I welcome anybodys input . We are all chasing the same golden goose, no reason not to help and encourage eachother. Oh and now that you can post pics, how about starting a journal? Me and bobs want to see how it's done

On the contrary Mr. D, I think you and Bobbles might be asking me for a link to where I got mine from sooner rather than later :p

Actually thinking about doing a journal but can't figure out what I want to test this round (each side of that structure is fed by its own 44 gallon reservoir).

A) base nutes (Jacky's hydro) vs base nutes plus drip clean
B) base nutes vs base and big bud and overdrive
C) big bud and overdrive vs bloombastic (base nutes with both, obviously)
D) any combination of nutes and bloom boosters (I have them all, just about)

Since you taught me how to post pics, you get to decide.

Well if you're giving me dealers choice. I'd like to see you run base nutes + bloom boosters on one side, and just base nutes adjusted to a similar NPK profile as base nute + boosters on the other side. This would show if there is any reason to pay extra for the amino's etc in the boosters or if it's just PK spikes producing an effect. Ideally you'd have a third set of plants that recieved just base nutes as a control. Either jacks or GH three part for base nutes (Nothing but straight nutrient salts). All plants should recieve the same strength (ec/ppm) nutes at all stages of growth regardless of nute mix. I'll leave choosing the booster(s) up to you. I'm old school, if I feel a need to boost pk I just bump up my bloom ;). Curious to see if any of these new age boosters really do anything special, or if they are just selling really expensive PK with a pretty label.

Silver - Glad to have you here. Plenty of smoke and popcorn for everyone . I've been lurking in your thread, very sexy ;).

DHF - I've been wondering about the boosters for awhile. I rarely have the opportunity to test things, when something an't broke I don't try to fix it. Still i'm always looking for a effective way to boost harvest weight. Whatcha say tommy, you up for it?

Aww, :thank you: I'm not sure how I just now stumbled upon your grow, but hot DAMN Mister_D, you are doin' it RIGHTEOUS!

This is my first vertical grow, and while I'm pleased with how things seem to be shaping up, I'm really impressed by the trees you're growing! Looks to be a few solid feet of spears in every direction!

What you've got is what I was imagining, .. Just have yet to conceive. ;)

Bonz - Am I going to use all these ? Yes bro all of these, and oh 28 more I still need to get cuz I was stoned when I ordered these. Once my bobblepods (might have to come up with my own catchy name as my pods will be a lil different from bobbles) are up and running i'll have 64 in flower and 64 in veg, all in 3 gal pots. Was going to get square root bags, but the distributor for the aerobags offered me a killer deal cuz I actually bought 200 (100 5 gal for the big room and 100 3 gal for this room). No bulk discount on the square root bags or smart pots :moon: (I asked). A buddy of mine ordered 50 of the square root bags from a distributor (oddly cheaper than buying direct) so when I get over to see him I can compare. I know smart pots and I assume square root bags have neater sewing, but for my purposes will function the same. Plus I bought another light with the 200 bucks I saved buying these instead . For the price i'm very happy with the build quality of these bags. Little thicker than a smart pot, has handles, sewn with heavy thread. We'll see how they hold up long term.

Silver - My thread kind of hides in plain sight. Not alot of views :tumbleweed:, but I don't mind. This is just a place for me to share and converse with friends and other growers. If i'm able to help or inspire even one person it's all worth it to me. Glad you are enjoying the show, things are going to get very interesting in the next few months. If you have any questions feel free to ask. Tree grows are my speciality

I'm down, but I'm gonna need one of you chemistry majors to step up and give me specific directions on how much of what to add...........today is day 18 of flowering.

Run my rez's at 1000ppms (currently), which is 1/2 tsp/gallon of the calcinit and 5-12-26.

Somebody tell me what ratio to change that to and what additive you'd like to see on the other side (along with any tweaks to the base on the other side) and I'll make it happen.

I can post my water analysis, if needed, but it's ~130ppms and pretty decent water, all in all (RO filter sits unused in the other part of my garage).
