I couldn't agree more with your first paragraph.
Why do PEOPLE need more cannabis freedom? The answer is because any limitation is unacceptable.
Your question should be why do Californians need a Drs note for an herb AND why are Californians still subject to having their cannabis stolen by the government and then fined for having a plant that everyone has a natural right to posses.
As to why this year (2012) is fucked for CA, seems to be the fact that their are 5 competing proposals. It seems ASA and others have decided to divide and conquer. When the like wine was the only one out there support was really strong. The had to fuck that shit up ASAP, so step in ASA and 4 worse initiatives virtually ensuring that NONE of the 5 could gather enough support to get onto the ballot.
Fuck the ASA and all the other evil doers who side with the government and pigs.

addressing first part. KB is against doing the right thing. does not matter if it is greed or any other reason. They are all equally stupid. There is no argument that can be made to justify voting no on a legalization bill.
addressing the second part. Fuck KB. He is fucking dumber than a bag of shit. There is a lot of benefit for him to vote yes. He could literally make a California corporation himself with a little paperwork and then he is protected from federal law a little more than if he was operating in an illegal mmj market. Having your own incorporated business has it's benefits. He could also file the corporation for bankruptcy if he fails do to unexpected circumstances vs his own personal credit. He can also legally invest profits. The possibility of a money laundering charge goes away. If you ever want to make real money in this world than you have to invest. You have to see the big picture. Your money has to work for you. Poor people stay poor because they don't invest.
If you want to keep big pharma out then you have to take it out of their realm. Take it to the recreational realm to protect the medical realm. Then if it is anything like alcohol, then all is very well. Even my friends very small wine store did 4 million last year. The benefit to a legal market is huge.
Bottom line is if the most powerful government in the world can not control it even when it is 100 percent federally illegal what the hell makes anyone think one corporation is going to be able to control what you do on your land?
