Yeah well very common to see something like that happening especially with something that's sooo hot like Cookies. I posted awhile back about how, I think, someone(s) from DNA were traveling to pick up a cut of GSC and I was like are they getting THE cut of Cookies or an S1 cause it seems there will be a lot of S1's floating around confusing the issue even more. In an instance like this, which has developed VERY quickly mainly due to the S1 beans out there, I'd only accept a cut from solid people that I know personally and I can count them on 1 hand with a finger or two left over . Not asking for anything just saying.

Right on brother. So true. Might also be interesting to watch, if you can, epigenetic type mutations over time or in general as a clone degrades over time and can lose some things like potency, fragrances, etc.

I know I might get flamed from some of ya, but honestly if a cut will herm just from light stress, I wouldn't self it. Not female enough of a plant. Popping the progeny could very well be a pandoras box.
Selfing should be kept for stable true females imo.

Last year we had a power outage and a room of cookies sat there without light for a few days. They got stressed, hermied, and produced seeds. We should've culled the batch, but we just took a big loss so we just sold it. Now there are a lot of hermie cookies floating around and seeds everywhere. We sprouted some of them, and most come out with OG Kush dominant smell and hermie like crazy. In the middle of a female flower a male flower will come out, it's kinda weird because it's in the calyx of a single female flower, not a male flower on it's own. All you breeders should know that it's not that easy to find a keeper in a batch of seeds, we went through thousands of seeds to find the original GSC. We've got a peach smelling, sweet tasting strain that is stronger than the cookies coming out. We're testing it now to make sure it won't hermie, even when stressed.

sad really, as these hermie seeds will spread hermie CSG everywhere, people will then sell THOSE clones as the REAL GSC....

theres 3 types of hermies
Stress induced Environmental, chemical ect
Self induced ie late flower , banana's do to non pollination of female flowers
Genetic..... Bad Genes
Genetic hermies are Bad News thow...

If its clone only, STS it lightly! untill you can get just enough pollen.. search for the pheno should find it with 14-18 ish seedlings or so

I've got a plant going right now in which case the seeds were plucked out from an elbow of GSC. until my current harvest finishes, i wont be able to sex it. If its a male (obviously wasn't an s1) i'll keep it. But if they are all females, i may be more skeptic in flowering her. Especially with the clone mother on the way. Right now, rubbing her stem i get both the smell of OG and a hint of mintyness, which makes me worried i have some of your hermi seeds possibly. Either way, if she has the hermi traits, then its out of my garden. Some how my SFV managed to hide a few seeds in her lushes FAT calyxes and i have absolutely ZERO males in the vicinity, nor have i seen a single male pollen sac or banana anywhere in the flowering room. Zero light leaks, shit doesn't make sense.

I wouldn't necessarily go that far Krunch, but there goes folks' plans to race to market with GSC S1's maybe,,, or not. But yeah, the same result will happen with seeds produced in the S1 whether they are reached via STS etc, or via light stress etc.

As stated before, there WILL be plants in the S1 generation that do not fall under the category of "most". These plants may be dead ringers for the GSC. Further, selfing THEM may produce the desired results, that is, a population resembling the original clone without any apparent intersex tendencies in the absence of extreme stress. So it may just take one or two more steps than some may have been hoping for is all. -T

got to try a sample of this so called gsc and was not impressed... she was in the culture magazine so I figure I'd try it since its becoming so popular.
hmmm maybe a better sample? so far nothing special.
she seems to be just hype from my point of view..
