You Learn....I'd recomend biting off more than you can chew anytime.

Back on topic

Unfortunatly Edna didn't make it...I got them to crack, but no root was forthcomming. Her seatmate is doing better. Cracked half, have eight little ones clearing the dirt. It's early, more may follow.

The Rodney girls are showing me a new twist. Three of the four are what I've come to expect. Three are short with wide leaves. The fourth unseeded plant is taller, with more narrow leaves. Never seen a Rodney do this. Perhaps this is a taller Phenotype? The bigger plant looks to be hit with pollen from every strain I have. Looks like the universal mom to me....so far. Plant on left is normal Rodney. Plant on right is the curve ball.

picture.php

The next generation Jack Herer kids are moving right along. Another couple of weeks and we should see them declare.

picture.php

I want to mess with the three trifoliates...see what happens.

picture.php

A few days ago my partner came over with the Headband plants grown at his house. They were pictured in the above post. Smoked two joints, first of the morning, should have gotten blotto. Instead both of us had an unimpressive high. Even grown here...under optimal conditions. The Headband doesn't have what it takes. Personal stash? It doesn't make the grade. I thought growing them outside would make them kick ass...

Wrong.

There is a Violator Kush clone drying now. I hope that one is better.

As I trim my way thru the harvest I start to see what worked. Of Rodneys' kids....the only one worth saving is the Jack X Rodney cross. I've been trimming on her for awhile. Still have half a line to trim, but I should be done today. My three lb estimate was low. Closer to five lbs there.

The HB x Rod quality was second best. That plant, planted between (and too close to) two others yielded two lbs eleven ozs. That mistake cost me a lb.

More bad news. The EE is in the process of winding down. It is pollinated with Rodney pollen, and seeds have set. It looks to be too mature to clone, and I don't think it'll make it to the point where the Jack males are ready, let alone carry those seeds to maturity.

Today I will take the unseed parts. Of course, the stress test on this plant has gone well. Had too. I'm going to lose the line. With the removal of that last plant....the gulch is open, long season is done.

The process of switching the gulch from long to short season is easy. The sun is tracking more to the south. The cover plants on that side all have to be topped, otherwise they shade the holes.

I still have a pile of untested everything X Jack seeds. They were made last year and are the same moms as the Rodneys I grew last year. Except instead of Rodney, Jack was the dad. I'm running the Kush x Jack now. But the Kush x Rod Cross of this was the least best of the four. Looks like it's time to crack the HB x Jack and the Diesel x Jack.

Now the gulch is done it's time to get moving. I have the permits for 21. If the powers that be follow pattern we have one more Green Harvest to go through...then three or four months of chopper free skies.

Been offline for a few months. It's good to see you're still at it. Sucks about the Headband.... I've only heard good things about it....

Excellent story about the plovers! You write professionally? You should. ;)

Stay safe, and good luck keeping the Elephant Ear going! :)

Unfortunatly Edna didn't make it

Thanks for trying bro:thank you:3 beans i knew would be tough. I would bet they got too warm, but the others i think you will have fun with. I am working on getting more, just not sure the Edna is still available, sucks. But i do know you are the man to get em up. It was hot here, but coming the south i thought they would handle the heat i should have kept them in the frig. I really should have got pollen from the one male Edna i did have, learn and live they say. But first indoor grow and i was constraining on only getting a good grow, which did happen.

The others are killer IMO and grown there, i think your going to like and also cross em maybe with the Rodney, EE or what you think is going to be best. I guess its all in the health of the seed, but would like to see that NL #5 go off for ya man. I sure enjoyed it or would not have spent all the cash to get the clone i took from getting it off the re vegged plant before it got sick. And the NL#5 X Skunk #1 will kick your ass and with it going off there, shhhhiit. Now that Edna is history i think this will be the yielder it was for me at least and im not the Master!:tiphat:

Everything looks great man and BTW the camera ya got rocks as far as i see man, why waste the cash when ya gotta import the FF soil?

I gotta story when things get slow for ya, off topic. I sorta am known for my true ones over the years i have came across. Let me know when or if i can put one up? My friends would want me to tell em at least so i gotta believe theres something to them.

The One Arm Man

The Book

Only x more days

These 3 are the best in everyone of my friends opinion, but they are just true shit thats happen, which are funny or very odd. Damn keyboard.....

Thanks for the show bro:thank you:

I Want it All....And I want it now.

I Want it All....And I want it now.

Rasputin....I may appear busy....it's an illusion....the hard part's over. Trimming is just mindless shit that's gotta get done. Check this out. As close to the corner office as I will EVER get. My "trimming room"....not a bad place to put on the tunes and drift.

Notice the extreme lack of cold....sorry...had to.

picture.php

Time off? Maybe after Christmas....unless....

I've been making noises about getting my partners excavator in here. Getting it in would be a bitch. I'd have to cut the fence, flatten some cover, leave an ugly trail...and knock down a tree.

There's a lot more gulch there. Real deep soil. Easily double what room I have now. And it's a bowl. Can't see in except from the bottom....and that's well covered.

So why isn't it done? All the above reasons...and wifey.

One day she'll come home and the tree will be gone....don't laugh....I cut the big tree in front a couple of months ago....flattened it....she hasn't caught on yet. "Honey look, I didn't know we could see that"....yea....we can now that the fuckin' tree's gone.

I'm drifting.... again.

Inquest...welcome back. How did the vietnameese thai(?) you had going do? Maybe that Headband is stonier grown in the middle of summer, then close to winter. I thought the first two runs were better. This one just lost the bang.

Three people have told me to keep the EE going. One of them not near as diplomaticly as you. And your right. Busted out the EZ cloner and took a bunch of cuts. I don't think this'll work but I'd be flat out stupid not to give it a shot. All I need is one.

picture.php

And no....obviously...don't write professionally. TYVM though.

LSY....you know my rules. Gangi may feel differently. He's let me slide on a couple....give it a shot. See if it flies.

One last thing, The Jack x Rodney is in the bag. I was wrong....I said it would have five lbs there....ninty eight ozs....Puka Six lbs.
Since it was a double I can't count it as a record.

OH well

OH, You'll get better results on the EE if you cut away all the flower parts. It'll look like shit and may even have to take a second clone off of one of those that root to get a good cut. but if you leave them like that they'll just try and finish out their flower then die.

who's less diplomatic, me?

Thanks for the advice.....The're all flower parts though. Never tried for a clone this late. I really have nothing to lose so I'll give it a shot.

Less diplomatic?....naaa...your very diplomatic. Words like idiot, stupid, and moron were not used....

Seriously, I'm on it now. Consider it done.

OH - is your entire cloner pic of the EE, or are the ones on the left something else? Cause if they're all EE then you'll be fine. But those ones on the right are deep in flower. If the plant is STILL in the ground and with your ambient weather you could put an adequate CFL bulb on a Shop light Clip/ Small aluminum hood on whats left in the ground and get her to reveg long enough for you to get a couple good cuts.

wow i love that elephant ear! i wish it wasnt winter here 8 months a year!...

<chuckle>
Jus' be grateful for the 4 months of road repair.:)

(Yeah, I used to live round there.)

@OH;
Might be worth yanking EE up, trimming roots to a container and de-budding for a re-grow, no?

Just a random under-edumacated thought. :tiphat:

Aloha,
Weeze

OH, my VB/Thai's cloned great, revegged great, popped off with some nice colors, had good consistency (potency and type of high), and was more than potent enough for me. Although, I'm not a heavy smoker. A few of my heavy smoker friends could have used some more potency but everyone has loved the high!

Some shots, for those who are interested.

Btw, Nice looking Brug. I love their aroma! Mine is suffering through indoor life for the winter, currently.

Good luck on the clones!

Well Canni you said you wanted a snow covered bud, poor thing never gotta chance to serve out its purpose though:shucks:. But have to say i am not complaining about the cold here now after looking at what ya got there, lol. I used to luv the stuff and would be out killin bunnies in it:nanana:with my friends. But got real dumb and thought i couldn't hunt after my crash and sold all my guns, but with the power chair i coulda. Plus luved to jog in it:thinking:, but il tell ya pushing in it really sucked. Had to push once, got two feet, then put my hands on the friction rims and wait till the heat from my hands melted the snow stuck to the wheels and push again:freezing:two more feet, lol. By the time i got to my car my hands were numb, not to mention having to fold the chair up to put it behind the seat. Only to get to where i was going and do it all again. But sometimes people would have it shoveled:wallbash: not often though.

Cool pic tho bro, i think, lol. Depends how ya look at it, iv not smoked in a long time so looks yummy to me, lol. Now its freezer burnt :confused:so i guess it got close, maybe?

Wheels Keep on Turning....my,my,my,for tomorrow.

Wheels Keep on Turning....my,my,my,for tomorrow.

Thin gruel tonite boys and girls... This could be a long one....warning you now.

The EE for now is lost to the strains gone past. The only way to keep it alive is thru the clones. Termites have left piles of debris at the base of her stem.

picture.php

I can't dig it up and bring it under the lights. And I can't light up the gulch....The only way I'm able to pull this off is nobody....except Green Harvest....knows what is in that gulch.

Light it up and the houses above me will at least be curious where the new light came from. Besides its a fool's errand to expect it to throw a shoot. Many months ago I cleaned her up by removing all the inside growth that doesn't see the sun. That's where my shoot would happen.

All is not lost though. My partner still has more of those seeds. Only finding that specific Phenotype will require kissing many frogs before I find that queen. At least this time I know what to look for.

So unless those clones root...the EE is lost....for now. I have her seeded with Rodney, and the new Jack starts are showing sex. Outside chance I can get a Jack male to pollinate her before she gives up the ghost. Can I keep her alive for six more weeks? I doubt it.

Pure Rodney's seeds set perfectly.

picture.php

Jack has already shown me a couple of girls....they went straight onto the gulch. Here's a pure Rodney waiting for a Jack male to mature.

picture.php

LSY....you gotta come up with a new name for the Skunk#1 x NL#5. I ain't gonna type that 50 more times so it's up to you. HRM named Rodney....take some time and make it good.

Headband....I sooo wish those clones on the left were EE. There not.
Those are Headband (you remember? the strain I was badmouthing a couple of posts back) and Violator Kush. Their moms have been repotted and I have a spot on the deck where they will go to bud.

I got booted from my partners garden. Can't put my overflow there. Looks like to me he wants to start his own seed crop. That's not a bad thing. His Japaneese Hash is losing the quality battle to my Jack X Rodney. He wants to chuck pollen too....he can't let this fuckin' haole out quality him. It's eating him that his 6 holes yielded a quarter of what one of mine did.

I'm getting tired of loading the garden up and busting my ass for ingrate patients that grab their take, then bail to the mainland to profit the meds I grew them. Dropped one last year, gonna drop the other this year. At least this year i expected nothin'...and wasn't disappointed. Four days from "here you go" until Aloha.

I think I'm at the point where I don't need the margin of error another permit brings. It's always nice when others eat your mistakes though.

I explained earlier. Short season sets up long season. I use this log to bounce ideas and stratigies off. If we do this right, next year we could do as well as this year, and beat Green Harvest at their own game. With 7 less holes....

Sounds like a worthy goal....

Things are moving along.

Pulled my first Rodney seeds off of the planted girls. Both short and tall Rodney donated seeds....and they have been dried and replanted....told you...it doesn't take long to turn these around.

While I have been trimming the EE, and so far I've found three seeds. Nice black ones. Don't know who the dad is. My own thoughts are that Green Harvest, or I brought some pollen in on their clothes. They are planted too.

The Jack starts have all shown sex. Planted four in the gulch, will scatter the rest around later this week.

picture.php

Also lightly pollinated the clones in the gulch. Rodney pollen was used. Headband and VK are now hapai.

At this point everything I want to play with is now in the dirt. The Diesel x Jack and the HB x Jack are already clearing the dirt. My entire next season is in two bread trays.

picture.php

There is a plan here....Throw it all at the wall and see what sticks.

Trimming wise I can now see some of the windows. It looks less like a cave everyday. Wifey is back. Still have a lot to do but I'm on the downhill side.

Weather wise we're still in summer. The first storms have yet to reach us.

Another Crappy day.
