hey bro what are your thoughts on when to replace bulbs...?

i will be honest with you.

everything in life is equal. example
digital ballasts vs core n coil =

digis- light and compact, less heat, have radio frequency, bulbs burn hotter and out faster, can run mh or hps, lumens and light are unbeatable, need more bulbs more often, can be expensive, can only run certain bulbs

core n coil - heavy as hell, so much heat when running, no rf, bulbs burn as they were made too, need 2 ballasts or conversion bulbs to operate mh and hps, bulbs live longer but arent as bright w standard ballasts, dirt cheap. can run all types of bulbs and brands

what do we have? a perfect balance. ( i may have missed some)

so . i run digis and standard subject to facility, the best thing to do is get a light meter and moniter every bulb. they are mass produced, and i have found can and will very greatly based on ballast, brand and facility, peace, mm

Balance is everything, I buy cheap used coil/core at auction/ failed growers... cause they never die, and good quality inexpensive bulbs and spend my money I save on my kids, my horses and skiing...As far as bulbs go listen to yer plants. They will tell you when they need new bulbs , more spindly stretchy in veg and more wispy skinny buds tell you to buy em bulbs..HM

day 21 bloom bc bubba ( day 31)

day 21 bloom bc bubba ( day 31)

so after you put the trellis screen on, all you do daily is make sure any branches that can be trained are.....

kushes stretch alot until they ripen, so for the next week or 2 i will still be bending and training all the plants away from the main stalk to increase yield, quality, air flow and lifht penetration as well as maximize square footage,

its the best when lower nugs are exposed to the same intensity as the tops. the bag appeal is second to none in mfts when nets or screens are utilized......mm

day 21 bloom medical master kush (day 31)

day 21 bloom medical master kush (day 31)

just like any other mks ive ever grown we have a big stretch here. and full buds at 21 days. this week they are going to explode. the whole room has grown at least 12 inches in the last 7 days.

aside from bidaily bending and training, there isnt anything else to do now aside from resovoir monitoring.

the mks rooted about 5-7 days ahead of the bc bubba, and you can see now how impotatnt it is to take 4x more clones then needed, so the cream de la cream are left to fill a uniform and vigorous canopy. mm

flipped em on the 25th so this is day 7 of bloom looking a bit pissed off from the switch to bloom mix but still growing fast. Too bad hps photos suck they are vibrant green and looking very good. Also a bit of root porn for you growers who love the big bottoms...I like the ionic series of nutes always at ph 5.8-6.2 and no deficiencies period. This is the second run with these nutes and they are not disappointing me so far. My ghetto grow room/storage closet is still piled with old grow gear but I added a box fan and cracked open the door for maximum ventilation...lol

great pictures both of you,ill try and get some batteries for camera tomorrow and take a few pics, things are going great.funny experiene happened today, res changed and set up with straight water for my flush, took me about 15 minutes to get all the water in and ph'ed to the correct spot, res hold 55 gallons, turned pump on and went away for 30 or so minutes,i came back into room and res was freaking dry,not a drop of water on the floor im like wtf just happened ,what happened is when the pumps were off i guess the roots mass going thru the plastic and down into the res swelled, all the freaking water was in the tables, lmao fuck i had to reach in and pull the roots up and out of the way,cut a bit more off the plastic and watched it all drain back down again until i plugged the pump in again, thought i was freakin high real high for a minute lmfao....!

Those root systems remind me of when I used to run NFT, loved that system for growth and yield but the particular one I used sucked ass because the tray was sat on the rez which made it a pig of a job to fully drain rez.

Your plants are coming along really nicely mm.

T

the med man

ya, you gotta make the drain big enough. up to 3 or 4 plants can and will make it into the res under optimal conditions.

funny thing is a had a student this summer who instead of making the hole bigger just tore all the roots off. said it wasnt a big deal. then got 1 pound light, which is awesome for the strain he grew, but the product really suffered in the end. note to self, always consult the product creator, not grow shop owners, lol, mm

in this run so far i havent ever fully drianed the res. i usually do but im dealing with very cold water from rain outside and ro inside. i flushed with 750 ppm last week ans they loved it more then the usual 30 ppm out of the tap, mm
