I have not seen so much information about this gathered in one place!

I for myself have problems Outdoors at 48.5N:

I grow Jamaican Pearl and they show symptoms, which i cannot identify clearly:



How long has this problem been going on? First syptoms showed in the middle of july.
What STRAIN are you growing? Jamaican Pearl (Sensi seeds)
What was the establishing technique? (seed or clone?) Grown from seed
What is the age of your plants? ~4 months
How long have they been in the soil mixture they are in now? ~3months
How Tall are the plants? 1.6m
What PHASE (seedling, vegetative or flower) are the plants in? starting to flower (no flowers yet but asymmetrical branching and intense odor started)
What substrate/medium are you using? What brand of soil mixture are you using?(percentage of perlite, vermiculite...etc?) Outdoor soil amended with perlite and soilless mix, ph corrected with lime containing 85% CaCO3, 3.5% MgCO3 and 0.8% FeCO3.
What brand Nutrient's are you using? organic Outdoor nutrients added to the soil
What method of pH test was administered? Using Strips? pH pen? Distilled water + color indicator and distilled water and pills for outdoor ph tests.
How often are you watering? only rain, often since the beginning of july
Is the grow substrate constantly wet or moist? wet because of much rain
Has plant been recently pruned, cloned or pinched? No
Have any pest chemicals been used? If so what and when? No
Are plant's infected with pest's? No

What substrate/medium are you using? What brand of soil mixture are you using?(percentage of perlite, vermiculite...etc?) miracle grow organic w/ dolomite lime
What brand Nutrient's are you using? none yet
How much of each nutrient are you using with how much water? *Knowing the brand is very helpful*
How often are you feeding? haven't yet
If flowering, when did you switch over to using Bloom nutrients?
What order are you mixing your nutrients? (example: veg nutes 1st, bloom 2nd ect)
What is the TDS/EC/PPM of your nutrients used?
What is the pH of the "RUN-OFF"? havent measured it
How often are you testing pH/ppm/EC/TDS? pH every time, EC/TDS never since i haven't started using nutes
What method of pH test was administered? Using Strips? pH pen? pH pen
How often are you watering? when they are light/soil is dry with the toothpick test
When was your last feeding and how often are you feeding?
What size bulb are you using? 4x 36w PL-L
How old is your bulbs? like 7 months, have maybe 2 months of use on them
What is the distance to the canopy? approx 3"
What is your RH Factor? (Relative Humidity) around 30%
What is the canopy temperature? fluctuates between low and mid 80s.
What is the Day/Night Temp? (Include fluctuation range)77-85
What is the current Air Flow? (cfm etc.) 40cfm for the lights, 40 for the plants.
Tell us about your ventilation, intake exhaust and when its running and not running ? always running. cooltubed PL-Ls separated from the cab on bottom.
Is the fan blowing directly at plants? i'm putting a fan to blow on the plants in there today
Is the grow substrate constantly wet or moist? no, i let the soil dry out
Is your water HARD or SOFT? not sure
What water are you using? Reverse Osmosis (RO)? Tap? Bottled? Well water? Distilled? Mineral Water? tap. i let it sit out for 24 hours before i use it.
If using tap water, what is the ppm/EC/TDS of the water right out of the tap?(Only if you have a tds pen)141ppm.
If using RO,Distilled,mineral water, what is the ppm/EC/TDS without any additives?(Only if you have a tds pen) N/A
Are you using water from a water softener?don't know
Has plant been recently pruned, cloned or pinched? no

plant 1

it's big, but it didn't perk up when i watered it, and the leaves (starting from the bottom) are starting to yellow.

plant 2:

same age as the big one (all of them are the same age, that one just grew to be big, the rest are all the same size ish)
strange light green color, browning on the leaves, they seem stunted to me.
plant 3:

this one is on it's 3rd/4th leafsets and is still very small. what gives?

I love this thread and want to maintain it....

Mynamestitch it seems has returned after a long absence....

I will try and figure out the best thing to do...

Aaaaaavalanche that does look like a viral or bacterial infection to me if I had to guess.....I have seen it before once in a hydroponic setup and for some reason the stems were completely hollowed out when they should have been thick and dense with transport tissues.....I will try and find someone who has seen this exact pattern of yellowing and maybe we can get a firm diagnosis....

The one a few posts earlier looks like classic Nitrogen deficiency during vegetative phase
to me.....the green goes away like that (if I am wrong someone let me know)....

I'm doing the best I can but you must realize that I have a brain the size of a walnut....

Are plant's infected with pest's? That is what I am trying to figure out

I am trying to figure out if I have spider mites or some other bug. I have spent several hours with a 30x loupe looking over the plants and I can't find a single bug anywhere. I found some webbing on the plants so I started looking for mites but all I can find are black dots that are mostly on the top of the leaves. The leaves have had the issue with light spots on them for many weeks, I thought it was just from age and never paid it any attention. So this has been going on for several weeks of flower but the buds do not seem to be affected. Here is a link to a recent video, these are some of the best looking buds I have ever grown.

Thrips were my problem. I am getting some Spinosad to deal with their treachery.

I had a major thrips infestation in june, got the spinosad with a garden hose hook-up
doused em down one good time and they were DOA!!
I was going to do a follow up treatment but never needed it.

High county you got spider mites like a MOFO dude... you see little bigs crawling all around? Your poor plant looks like a gooey ball.... you got a serious infestation.... as for the clones.... what are your temps like when lights are off/on? What you feeding them? What soil are you using? how old are they?

I transplant the day I switch to 12/12 and I usually feed one time with grow and one time with flower fert (organic) until the strecht is over and then flower fert until the end.......I give only water at ph 6.5 between a fertilized and the other.

I water/fert them when the soil is dry and it takes 2 or 3 days, sometimes longer, ....soil is irish and baltic peats with pumice........pot size: from 6.5 lt to 11 lt.......

I think my soil, when full colonized by the roots, is getting acidic and so Mg and Ca could be lock out.........my water is really hard with a lot of calcium in it......so I was also thinking about the amount of Ca that could lock out Mg......

Let me know if you need more info........
