Here's a update from yesterday... There's been more fatalities since last week the DRxDR Auto's have been hit hard ... only 1 left now and i planted 5 last week but the deer ate them too, but these deer aren't any old deer they only like eating females, the bastards. They left one male and a bit of a female but the females are done for sadly.

I went down with more wire mesh yesterday and covered all the remaining plants so no more fatalities i hope. oh and we've had a heatwave (2 days sun) LOL so the plants are loving it right now.

Here's some pic's

Plants are looking good, bugger with the deer though. Interesting they didn't like the smell of the male , fine to breed plants the deer won't taste!

Amazed at the growth a bit more sun can produce, a good july will make all the difference.

Here's another update from yesterday.

The auto's are real small .... one drxlsxlr is as good as dead so some early smoke coming my way it seems. The DRxDR male is looking real good he hasn't got a cage as i know the deer don't like it at all .....LOL

The normal strains are a bit behind as well .... well apart from a couple of GGxDanish Passion's they are at a good height now and look to be a winner for height and liking the acidic soil, it would be good to get a male for further breeding ... but still no sex showing so i'll not get too far ahead of myself.

The deer eaten Scottish x HP2 are making a valiant recovery to my surprise so they might make a couple of joints worth when finished... ;)

Rocket,

The deer protection looks good. I have been lucky it seems and just suffered my first depredations. Yes, your yellow plant
does look just like my swamp plants.

Great grow and in such tough conditions!

Hey buddy! Hope your grows go real well this year. Second time lucky, eh? My second outdoor season is well under way, though the thread got deleted. I'm loving water crystals this year. Seems to make a major difference in a dry climate. Obviously not so applicable to you though. I'm also going 100% organic, which may be a mistake given the harshness of my conditions.

I haven't had time to skim this whole thread, and I'm about to go on vacation. But I hope things go well for you, and I'll hit you up in a few weeks!

Sorry to hear your thread got binned 007...that's capitalism for you i guess.

I wish i had a dry climate.. we had a monsoon yesterday with hale stones and lightning in the middle of July -not good for the plants i can imagine they are water logged as well so im not holding much hope of a decent harvest right now.

have a good vacation

There should be a update on sunday peeps...that's if it's not pissing down like last week.
Its meant to be crap weather till the middle of august so that's the season ruined for me i guess ... summers in the 80's were hot and dry, now they are dismal and i hate it .

MJbadger ..yep the wildlife is abundant at plot 1 and plot 2 has rabbits with myxomatosis which is sad ... Man can be cruel sometimes.

c'mon Gaius get your lazy ass out there and get some pics ... only kidding ;)

Rocket,

That is sad news about the weather. The plants just aren't growing much because of cool and cloudy conditions? I wouldn't give up yet, there is still time

Shame last season was very promising.

Perhaps establishing them in a small greenhouse and putting them out as larger plants would help next spring...?

Or you could move to Spain :smoke:

Here's a update from today :)

We've had a beautiful day today which surprised me somewhat given what crap weather we've had the last few weeks .
Things havent moved on much from 2 weeks ago due to the dull light conditions .
The only one to show sex is a Danish gold x GG which turned out to be male... he will be the daddy to the earliest female Danish x GG to show sex. That should give me a nice early flowering F3 generation to work with next year. My autos haven't recovered so i chopped 3 of the DRxLSxLR'S they were uber yellow and would probably rot by next week so i have 1 DRxLSxLR female left and 1 DRXDR female and thats it ....
The DRXDR has been pollenated by the male i threw away today .. so they will be double backcrossed. Im going to try and do some more auto's before the seasons out.

The rest are ok but not brilliant, 2 have leaf spot which is spreading across the plant but they should be ok .

here's the pics
