I'm staying tuned VG...

good luck with the media. so far I am far ito veg with a pine bark mix that is doing well.

I think so anyway... whenever I make a mix i am so sure I will remember what I put in, but I never do.

New name for you Verdant, 'Major Buddage'. You always have your cab packed with buds, no empty spaces at all. Sir or Lord Nuggage are other options suited for the UK.

Lovely pictures VG, i really like how massive and crystaly your trainwreck is. Very soothing to the eye. Do you have any particular strains that you favor so far, anything that stands out in terms of potency? How many mothers/clones do you have going?

Keep up the great work!

i have used it in the past but found coco (at 20%) tended to lock out K and P from the mix, and i have read stuff to this effect too...

Yep, you're no longer Cuckoo for Coco(a) Puffs!

New name for you Verdant, 'Major Buddage'.

I hear he's been promoted a few times since then, from Colonel Buddage to Major General Buddage. :)

Those pesky kids out of the house yet, VG? Maybe you can get 'em a 'Chelsea Girl' for a birthday or something, so you can get to work, too!

(Don't tell the Missus, of course...) :bashhead:

mad - yes finally i have the new soil assembled :dance013:
killerweed - thanks mate!
yesum - major buddage - i like that
D9 - i have about 10 mums atm, i'll do a list soon ive got to repot and root prune them urgently
sx - yep kids still here :) should be ou of my hair in 12 years or so :ying:
hazy - cool stuff, the ECSD is a great scrog strain - very willing to produce sideshoots and buds, i found they needed plenty of food to keep up - mine went a li'l hungry at times i think.

---

right, i got some pics today of the other two plants
C4D no5 pheno - this has shaped up pretty well - the leaf streak trait perhaps slows down the water uptake but its finishing OK - 69 days

and the Cherry Bomb cut - i chopped this today - i wanted to try it at around 9 weeks for a more 'up' high. trics were all milky and a few going amber. this strain ripens from the bottom
picture.php

fantastic vigor for an IBL - got some height off the screen :dance013:

this wuld have been a good shot if it was in focus!

and the purple pistils are as easy on the eye as ever

and the new soil mix, not sure why im changing my existing one that works so well - but i need something that holds more water and also managed to get some ingredients that i had been looking for a while - namely aged pine bark fines and danish molar clay as a perlite substitute, also biochar.
40% aged pine bark fines 2-7mm
20% danish molar clay (sophisticat pink kitty litter - exactly the same as seramis)
10% peat
10% Biochar
10% EWC
10% Mushroom compost

the ferts/amendments are the same as i already use, just a bit more guano to allow for some absorption from the biochar etc.
5g/litre each of N Guano, seaweed meal, dolomite lime, rock phosphate, rock potash
10g/ litre P Guano
also watered it with some organic grow, again to charge the biochar etc.

her are the plants just gone in - here is a C4D 4 pheno a week or so from rooting and a MMG - same
picture.php

and a very hungry looking bubba kush that got repotted into my unferted soil when it should have been richer. i didnt mind it getting hungry as i thought it would be a good test for the soil. if it perks up then i know its the new soil it likes :)

wish me luck....

if they look good in veg then i'll use this soil for flower too

good luck on the new soil mix!

Can you post your old soil mix? The search feature is not pulling it up and my wife threw away the paper it was written on. Did you give up on the Air Pots?

yourcorpse - thanks, and fingers crossed on the soil mix, big up to spurr, mad l. and all the OFC for help and inspiration for that. i also want to try my old mix but replacing the 3 parts perlite with 2 parts molar clay and 1 part biochar. i'll have to re-use this mix to get the most out of it too i think.

RudeDog - thanks for stopping by - i need to check out your greenhouse thread :tiphat:

herb - thanks mate i'm looking forward to running the C4D 4 this run so it's Rez's Sour d crossed with Chem 4? . this weekend looking busy, but what about next w/end? the CB might be ready for a little test by then ;) how you going with the Blueberry?

Habel - thanks, yeah the CB is nice smoke, not as strong as some of the modern elite cuts but still plenty strong enough, and its pretty 'kind' in its sativa buzz.

which reminds me i donated 10 packs of cherryjuana seeds (which is Herijuana x Cherry Bomb) to the server fund. Blimey has been doing a sog style test grow in the Uk section for me in his 'ghetto perpetual' thread. they are just starting to finish and looking promising to say the least...

ThaLonelyStoner - my old mix that has remained pretty unchanged is 30% perlite, 30% peat, 20: topsoil, 10 EWC and 10 mushroom compost with the same ferts/amendments except that ive been running it with 2-4 g/l of N guano and about 8g/litre of P guano. im thinking perhaps ive been running it slightly 'lean' though as times gone on in this thread.

the molar clay/sophisticat should really be an imrovement on perlite and its increased water holding, CEC and pore space should help with the airpots, which im sticking with for the moment. if you decide to use kittylitter as perlite then you need to get the right stuff, the wrong stuff will turn to mush. in the USA i think turface is the same stuff as well. also calcined DE is just as good or better. go to madliberated's grow diary for more on that. i couldnt source it in the UK.
i also plan to set up a wick going into the lower soil in the aipots and i have a saucer under each one so the water that annoyingly p1sses out the sides when you water then gets collected and soaked back up. also airpots dont work on capillary matting so this wick will give me more options for watering if i go away.

That Cherry Bomb looks beautiful.
So, I've got a couple mod scrogs going, inspired by yours. One with a Sour Diesel that has a lot of buds going, I just hope I didn't let them get too crowded. So far so good though.

cheers herb, so i guess the no4 pheno is the chem 4 dominant one??

hazy you should find that, within reason, you will get similar yields irrespective of the amount of buds on the canopy - as long as there are enough to fill it. the plants tend to sort themselves out because they react and the buds grow to the amount of light they have available

hey g0v thanks, the plants i put in the new soil last week are looking happy and i can already see roots out the bottom of the pots.

---

the trainwreck came down today,65 days, true to form all the buds stems had collapsed under the weight of the buds. here is a pic taken upside down and then rotated.

and a nug
picture.php

so thats two down, two to come down in the next week or so.

looks like the next line-up will be.....
C4D 4, MMG, Bubba Kush and haze 6.
