water cure is just nasty...

Exsqeeze me? I know you're just voicing your opinion, but water cured herb has it's place right along with any other kind of cure. True, water cured smoke has very little taste or aroma, but consider this... You can smoke it anywhere! I've smoked water curred blunts and stayed blazed all through a double header @ a major league ball park. Security came by 2 or 3 times and never batted an eye @ me, & the box seats around me were over crowded. I grow organic but still water cure a small portion of every harvest, and guard it like it's the family jewels :rasta:

make some hash or something.

MM - water cure is when you actually put the buds in a bucket of water instead of drying them. Nasty!

Correct Microbeman: Flushing is done before harvest, curing after. Here's a good thread to initiate you into water cured bud.

Find the smallest jar you can (pickles, olives, salsa...) & give it a try some time. You wont be disappointed :good:
mad librettist: I suggest you haven't had properly water cured bud, or anticipated something other than what you got. Water cured bud has little flavor or aroma which makes it favorable for smoking in public :joint: which is about it's only application :rasta:

Hi All

I've been wondering why other people choose to grow organic, as it seems there are many reasons.

The main justification seems to be "for a cleaner smoke," but then there are other short answers like: it's cheaper, more sustainable, feels more natural, why not?, or just for plain experimentation.

Please share YOUR personal reasons why you grow organic.

If I don't CC and MM make fun of me. ;)

as many times as you say water cure is not nasty, is how many times I will say it is.

too many unsuspecting potheads read about water curing and nobody tells them IT'S NASTY. Or as you put it "not sexy".

Kinda like someone originally was playing a joke on someone who was really dense, and it just caught on.

here we go... just use extracts for cooking. cooking with trim or buds is so old school.

My herb smokes just fine, I don't know about yours. I can see how water cured bud would be good for smoking in public though.

Ive smoked water cured bud. It was very very smooth on the lungs. I dont understand why some people think putting bud into water is "nasty"? All the chlorophyll passes into the water which you can change daily if you want. Then you hang it up for a day or two and bam. Really really smooth smoke. Although it does reduce your yield, water cured bud weighs less BUT it still has the same amount of thc in it ie you can smoke less.

Please explain why water cure is nasty i dont get the reasoning.

I've water cured two times out of necessity, and the results were okey. However,I suspect that you lose part of the individual plant/strain's qualities. Aromatics have profound effects on the human nervous system. And when coupled to a psychoactive the effect would/could be even greater. I'm gonna do a side by side next harvest with the three strains I've been running the longest to see if my hunch is correct.

yes, I was burned by water cure when I needed a solution! The solution to bad tasting herb is making extracts, not trying to rescue the plant material.

processing with water before processing with another solvent is a waste of time. just use fresh or fresh frozen material and you quick wash will be great.

as stated above, there are better ways to cook with herb than using raw material steeped in fats. no reason those brownies should taste like hay. Make an extract and use that to cook without screwing up recipes. quick wash ethanol will be ready to go by the time your buds would be water cured.

I think you can read into the pro water cure posts to see the truth. For instance, buds so mangled beyond recognition they can be smoked at a baseball game without issue.

go to the hash forum and look in the QWISO threads.

basically, you wash the trim in very cold alcohol of your choosing, filter finely, and set the wash out to dry in a dish (no heat! lazyman keeps blowing up his kitchen trying to speed up the dry). You scrape up what's left, and you can melt it together. It shatters like glass if you smash it.

you can even heat it as you whip it to make it into different products. I made some earwax that is like silly putty sort of: it will shatter if you strike it, but it turns to putty if you squeeze it. When heated it melts into a liquid, so you need to vape it or put it on something like ash or bud.

so far I get nicer results from trim compared to buds. This "hash" is by far the strongest cannabis product I have consumed. I have not compared yield with strong or mild buds, but both yield mind-fuckingly good extracts.
