The PRINCESS DIESEL GROW: a long time comin'. . .

hey guys im coming back form a long hiatus with a new grow, new strain and even an X or bagseed strain that was grown and deemed rather worthy of repeating

well first up, ive got 9xPRINCESS DIESEL going in the flower cab and 11 in cups in the veg cab. strain X is in the cloner right now and they are doing ok. that slime crap started again on one of em so im gonna clean it out with the H2O2 and get at it proper.

and some other things, gotta point out the lil SSH plant just chilln and doing its thing (u do know its coming up next right! lol). . .

and last but surely not least is the X strain. right now im gonna be "pushing" this one and am caught between the name CITIZEN X or as my brother mentioned just CITIZEN

finally got my old cam working again, so im basically back in buisness. gonna be taking pics every monday to show progress of growth , so at least folks will know when to check for updates

the tallest one is a foot, the smallest is 6" so far. the main cab is under 18/6 right now, light is about a foot away from the tallest top, 400MH btw. . .

well folks, i guess some may have saw this coming , but all of those cuts that you see in the bubble cloner are pretty much mushy at the bottom stems.

so yeah right now, im pretty much done with hydro all together, just have to find out away to get that speed of rooting as this cloner though. if i can get my cuts to root in a bout 2 weeks tops, i'd be a happy camper.

anything in between soil and hydro that i can do to get the speed of hydro without the wait of soil? . . . anyone?

From my personal experience coco is the way to go as far as growing in a hydro/soil environment. I primarily grow in soil but coco is my favorite for many reasons -- growth speed, ease, and final product. With that said, I still find that cloning in rapid rooters, ie peat pellets is the easiest, not fastest, way to clone. Here is the only method I use with clones. I have used this method almost verbatim for 6 or so years with about 90% success rate.

JJ's thread is what got my started as far as taking out the guess work. to be honest i know that method works and will go back to it again if i dot hve any success with what im gonna be trying out this time around.

gonna be using . . . . damn, just had a lil epiphany while typing. . . . a perilite method. will be getting some trays with spots that are conical in shape, some perilite, a tray and letting the wicking begin!

well its not monday , but as promised here are some update pics of whats goin on! awight straight to it. . .

the cloner as some of you know im not a fan of, i wanted to do away with it, as things happen i wont have the loot to get its replacement which means it has to be kept. in this photo it has the first set of cuts whose stems started to turn to mush (in the back row). . .

and the front row has some cuts of a plant that i thought was a female but has shown some pretty strong balls so out they go and get replaced by some cuts that i know are female for sure. acutally an attempt to save one of the moms i had. . .

the previous cuts are doing fine though, not too much new growth as the space is slave to the elements right now,( but the finishing of the garage and the MANCAVE-section is in the works, ill be making a diary of that aswell on here) . . .

as strange as it is, im still getting used to the cloner , but i was informed of temps and heat and the effects that are had. i have since turned the heater off and have noticed decent results. as i have said before i really do want to keep these bag seed cuts as they are worthy. hopefully i will be able to cut the mushy part of the stems off and put them back in the cloner with the proper results

same ol goin on in here, plants are just gettin bigger and bigger as the days go by. maybe i posted on here how tall they were last time but the tallest one is 17" and the shortest is 9", heres the full fam portrait first. . . (first, second, third row)

as i was snappin photos i was noticing that the nodes on one were tighter than the other, so im thinking that maybe ive got two phenos going? they both have that crooked main stem though, here they are side/side then separate. . .

heres the one that has the most spacing, and the side and bottom branches are shooting up, out and strong!!

and heres the one that has the tightest nodes so far, they are a couple in the cab that look like this one, but then they are a couple that look like the one with the most spacing

while in there i decided to rearrange the family and see how that goes. im really leaning towards taking a good 2-3 cuts from each plant and then flowering them out. i figure 'eh, ive got 11 more to go, whats the harm? and i havent smoked some sticky in a while, besides i have a feeling a certain grower is gonna be quite stingy when his crop comes in so i think i best be prepared {^_^}. . .

so far so good!! out side of the cold the PRINCESS DIESEL seems to ber holding her own!! love the structure and even texture. its doing pretty well in the cold, although i know those roots may be hurtin' a lil, its doing ok. so far i love it!! easy to clone, easy to transplant, can handle the cold. . . its got most of my main concerns squelled, nuff said

Call me old school, but I use Oasis cubes for rooting cuttings. I probably would have built a DIY Aerocloner as I see you have, but I have no issues with the Oasis cubes and was afraid of running into issues like you are having.

I typically am taking 70 - 90 cuttings each cycle so I can choose the 50 best plants for my tray. I use humidity domes, heat mats and oasis cubes. I keep the box that comes with heat mat and place that between the tray and the heat mat as I have found that even with a thermostat the mats a very unstable when it comes to holding temperature at a good level. The buffer makes sure you dont' overheat and dry out your cubes. I root at 100% this way in 7 - 10 days, it's easy...lol. I have had a couple of strains (blueberry for one) take longer @ 15 - 17 days.

no odor on mine as of yet, but i had another grower, recently tell me that his had a a nice odor and he chopped em down pretty much after that. the trichs were in the right ratios for him so it made sense.

i wanted to help him trim and manicure but it gives hi something to do so he gets stingy with the duty, has "his system" he calls it. .. lol

i know what you mean as far as doing what works. this whole thing blows my mind, but as i post things i, of course think about things and realize that i would run into probs anyway no matter what method i use, and in retrospect how bad could those probs be really?

i have to use the cloner for now, cant use it in conjunction with the peat pucks that i love so, but honestly the cloner works, just gotta watch the temps is all. if i gotta freeze some packs of "treated" water than thats cool too, ive got the room and time.

although i like my GREENLIGHT DISTRICT time, nothing shows through better than with the lights on!! just a few though, just a few starting with the full fam pic which i love so much. . .

and two pics of the side by side pheno comparisons . . .

theyre still lookin good, leaves are still lookin green a lush. still no real odor to speak of, buti do remember my hydro growing friend tellin me that it was bred as a low odor strain, so maybe thats the reason why she is not pullin up her skirt just yet.

im watchin this grow very carefully for a few reasons. first one is, its my first time with this strain and i always study the new strains that i get, of course, for the future and also in case i have to give a clone or two to someone i can readily tell them what to expect from it. im strictly organic with my nutes and soilless with my medium but this time i may just feed a few plants with the GH SERIES nutes i have and the others with the THE GUANO COMPANY nutes i have to get a final smoke comparison as well.

other thing is since ive started using the bubble cloner, thats going from hydro to soil and there does seem to be a lil gestation period while the rooted clone goes from its hydro environment to the soil. here is really where im watchin for any sudden changes or switch ups. keeping the current temps in mind, i havent noticed anything out of the ordinary so things are lookin good in that arena as well.

ive got no choice with the cloner right now, as i wanted to swap it out for something less invasive but it is what it is so i have to work with it and get on the ball and just figure shit out; stop being lazy so to speak.

light is about a foot away from the plants so im hoping i get a good growth spurt during this week. talking to my hydro grower friend he and i tried to calculate what amount of growth her achieved from the time of the 12/12 switch until he chopped. it averaged around a 1/4" a day if im not mistaken (was high at the time of trying to calculate, he was good, i was not! lol) i didnt think to log the height from my first measuring last monday but this measuring is on the thread, it is a diary and i plan to keep my lo entries that way.

oh yeah, just to clarify things, FRANKENBLUNT420 is still FRIENDinDEED !!!!! for those who dont know. with security being a concern i didnt feel comfortable using my actual sig from the job and ive got alot of ppl looking over the shoulder, so safest thing was too create one from the job which is the FRANKENBLUNT420, that way theres no real ties to me and what ive got goin on at the spot. so remember FRIENDinDEED = FRANKENBLUNT420 (while im away from the lair)
