theres reports of prisoners in maine complaining cause they had to eat lobster. ya i remember when lobster was real cheap for me . i bartered at the docks
When my dad and I would fish we'd collect the 'junk' they were pulling on the boat called Conger eel. Mostly head then a decent tail that was pinkish and tasted like lobster. People never knew what they were giving us.

I do eat raw oysters, KILLER shellfish out of Willapa Bay Washington, and probably the only 'raw' fish I eat these days is seared tuna but that's rare.

Asian cultures are pretty blatant in their disrespect for life, not very civilized imo but hey it makes for a good youtube video...

Too big a generalization there Vado. Buddhism is huge in many asian countries, and Buddhists are frequently vegetarians.

That video was definitely gross, though, saw something similar either on Bizzare Foods or No Reservations.

I bring wasabi and soy sauce on the boat with me. Pull in a tuna and slice a chunk off while it's still thrashing. MMMMMMmmmmMmmmm Good. Heading to Baja in a week!

I LOVE sushi. Bobby, that yellowtail collar made my mouth water! How about some halibut cheeks.
So far, my favorite spots have been Tojo's in Vancouver; bluefin toro, tojo's tuna, halibut cheeks....lord have mercy, and Sushi Ota in San Diego. Can't wait to visit SD this fall.

LOL...savage :). Got a company I work with and the owner went to Mexico a few weeks back for tuna and asked her to save me some but she got skunked.

I've only eaten Japanese once. That was this winter on my ski trip to Calgary. My friends took me to a different ethnic restaurant every night. We hit an awesome Japanese restaurant and ordered mostly grilled seafood from the Chef that does all the fancy knifework and juggling.

I'm not too partial to the raw sushi but I do like the California rolls.

Yep.

Living in Florida sucks balls, but I do miss being able to go out the pier, catch some spanish mackerel, and have basically unlimited, free, line caught sushi every day.

Lot's of good sushi in Portland bro. I've been to baja dozens of times and never been skunked. Can't always catch tuna though. Depends on when you're there. It's tuna season right now! 2 more work days and i'm gone!!!!! Yeehaw!!

Rainbow roll - It's a California Roll with Sashimi on top.. and a great variety.

Besides that, I prefer sushi (the raw fish on rice) whatever the chef recommends.

or I'm down with krunchbubble... get the rice bowl with sashimi.. so tasty.

And for Sake... DO NOT GET HOT SAKE... it's the crappiest stuff, It's okay, kinda like a 2 buck chuck.

Get a nice bottle of Cold Sake, it's SO much better and really goes with the cold sushi.

haha, I Love sushi.

When it's available, flying fish roe topped with a quail egg is absolutely the bomb. A good spicy tuna or eel & cucumber hand roll is always a good treat. You just gotta love the kelp "ice cream cone" presentation. White tuna is like butter and just melts in your mouth. MMMMM, I loves me some sushi lol. Guess I know what's for lunch tomorrow... :yummy:

I don't even want to try to add up the amount of money i spent on sushi in college.

Smoke some fire, wait 40 mins, then go to the bomb sushi place was a very common occurrence. The waiters there must of thought we were nuts.

Would eat it every day if I could .. but alas its hard to get here :`(

So healthy and you always feel great afterwards no matter how much you eat. :)

i think its expensive because the fish has to be super fresh in order to be eaten raw. back in the peasant days that wasnt really an issue, but nowayas where everything is packed, preserved and shipped round the world, it takes a little extra to get that fresh fish.

love sushi...been my favorite food since I can remember. Ive turned every girl I've dated onto sushi too...gotta start em small with the american stuff, then gradually feed em the unagi and sea urchin ;)
