do you worry when going to the grow shop?

I was just wondering how many of you worry about going to the grow shop. I went once to get my tent.

Would you say ordering online is a bit safer?

I am worried the higher up is somehow watching. I really do not want to go back.

What are your opinions?

:thank you:

Against the law to profile a man for being a gardener. People who are afraid tend to be scared of credit cards and refuse to buy online. Personally I say go to your local grow store, support local businesses, and build a rapport with the store owners because they will hook you up! Pay cash if you don't want your name anywhere. Good luck!

that being said, outside tampa FL they follow you home and check your power bill. just because its not lawful, doesn't mean they wont arrest you and let the lawyers figure it out

high power bills dont equal search warrants there other things like traffic, smell, running your mouth i find it hard to believe that the tampa pd has the time to follow everyone leaving a hydro store and if they do you must be on there radar and there must be be other reasons why they are busting your door down other then high power bills

I see nothing wrong going to a grow store.. I mean.. it's a legal business offering gardening supplies. I guess i'd be a tid-bit more worried if I was running like 10kw or something.

I used to think the same think bro. I'm In east coast. Bro truthfully those shops are for gardening. Just becuz u have a green thumb doesn't mean everyone who comes in grows pot. That's profiling. What about the people who work there the owner of the shop. How come the police don't follow his ass home every night. Yeh don't get me wrong buddies thAt I know. Always used to talk about it. Like don't the cops watch those places to see who's doing what. Maybe they are maybe they aren't. But it takes a lot of work to get warrants for survelliance wires warrants n stuff like that. They can't go to a judge and say hey that's a hydro shop let's watch it and follow people home. That's against the law unless they have (PC) probable cause. And then evidence of illegal activity. Wow. I watch to much " HBO " The Wire". N shyt

Edit - I mean point is. Best thing to do is go in to the shop already knowing exactly what you need don't be going in just browsing around. Get what u néed. Try not to make so many trips. Pay cash b simple. Big growers aren't gonna back a Uhaul in there " bak it up Charlie ". We got tons of stuff. That's gonna suspect. Even the owner doesn't want trouble so there careful as well as this is there buisness for there livelyhood

LARGO - On four different days earlier this year, an undercover narcotics detective with the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office saw a white Volvo parked at XXXXXXX Hydroponics, a specialty gardening store in Largo.
The car was registered to a 37-year-old woman living in a Redington Beach waterfront home. The month after her Volvo was last seen at XXXXXXX Hydroponics, narcotics detectives raided her home.

They found 141 marijuana plants.

That same undercover detective also saw a silver and gray Honda Element at XXXXXXX Hydroponics, that led to a raid at a Clearwater home; a Ford pickup parked outside the store, that led to a raid on a Largo home; a green Dodge van at the store, that led to a raid on a St. Petersburg home; and two BMWs that were spotted at the store, that led to a raid at a different St. Petersburg address.

This is the picture that emerges from affidavits that were written this year by investigators to convince a judge to authorize the raids. Typically, after the plate number is jotted down, narcotics detectives go to property linked to the owner, and see if an inordinate amount of power is consumed there, or whether it smells of cannabis – two tell-tale signs there's a marijuana grow-house inside. Then a search warrant is requested.

All told, according to the affidavits, the undercover detective launched more than a half dozen grow-house investigations simply by running license plate numbers outside the store – a tactic that raises concerns that gardening aficionados might be unfairly targeted by narcotics investigators.

What other kind of plants might require a carbon filter ?

I do kind of worry, about buying that, because I don't even know what one would use it for other than... But then again, I don't know awhole lot. So, I am sure they are for other purpose's aswell.

Anyone know of anything specific ?

Either way, your a customer, and I am sure they don't care to ask, but still; just in case.

Problem is, police don't necessarily follow the law. Having said that , buying on line is not 100% safe. The DEA checks UPS/FedEx shipping records from online grow shops also. There are documented busts from both online sales, and watching grow shops. The cops just need a lead, then they will use another excuse to bust you.

I'm legal so I don't worry much about going to the grow store. I've had problems with mail order though. If your order is small and shipped in a plain brown box you wont have much to worry about. But if your order is large (Trays/4 or more ballasts/tents etc.) it will have to ship on a palette and go freight. It will NOT arrive discretely if it has to ship via freight. I once came home to find 4 ballasts, 4 reflectors, 4 bulbs, 4 trays and 2 tents sitting on a palette next to my front door. NOT cool. Yes I'm legal, but I don't think anybody wants their neighbors knowing they grow, right? Wont do that again...

Damn that's F'd up. I mean. That's true police do whAt they want no
matter what. They can take down ur plate and from there stalk out ur house n figure it out. The mail order thing idk bout. That goes into ordering beans as well though. I mean the equipment thing is crazy. But yeah it's true. Carbon can filters idk anything else used either right. I'm sure these owners get crap all the time. I'm sure
they get pissed people are targeting the customers not cool

You're legal by the STATE, not federally. And you can believe if you're not paying the taxes that the state requires, or if they believe you have more going than what you should. They'll send people in, and if you're a problem for them doing that, they'll send in the feds. Legal growing is just telling the DEA exactly where to go to raid you.

i feel like this is true sometimes. anybody have any word to the yay or nay?

pay cash and don't smoke before you go, you seem a bit paranoid.

If cops wanted to tail you then odds are you are already doing something to put you on their radar.

Yeah I Ageee man. Don't give anyone a reason to even think "hey, that dude was shady". Act as if. Just be cool man they not looking to bust small timers either they want the big ones. For there own stats

no reason to go to a store ever, sorry its just not a good idea, one of the first things i read on the ic was a story of a grower being follwed home from the shop, u think the law matters on something thats federally illegeal. hey feel better if u got a piece of paper from the state but still avoid the grow shops and find what u need at a place that sells to the public like a nursery center
