bobblehead v5.0 1800w flip pods. Time to get serious.

D

DHF

As said above Chris.....volts x amps = watts...ain`t rocket science , but very fukin important.....20 amps x 120 volts = 2400 watts so 2-600`s are 50% of the amperage draw on that 1-20 amp circuit so it`s cool......

I didn`t live at my setups and needed extra safety precautions for obvious reasons...

Never exceed 80% of a circuit`s capacity regardless of the amperage ....

Now carry on Bobble.....and yeah......subpanels work well in basements for all yas needta do grow wise.....

Peace....DHF....:ying:

How about 2 600's on a flip flop (so four 600's) plus a few fans, etc.. on a 20amp, so say 1800w, 24/7.

20a x 120v=2400w
1800w/2400w=.75 or 75% of circuit load.

Is running 75-80% load still safe if you do it 24/7?? getting ready to blow shit up, don't want to burn the house down though hahah

yeah it should be ok, just as long as you don't exceed 80% at any time...

I just put together a "load center" today... A 30A circuit from the main box is split into 2 15A circuits, 1 wired to each end of the basement. No more extension cords and trying to figure out how I'm going to balance the load... Electric stuff isn't that hard if you read the instructions and follow the rules. It's all plug and play. I'm no electrician though, so I won't be sharing this one... Best to read up yourself if you're interested.

Christ my memory sucks (as you well know) I gotta cut back on the cheebha....

Lookin' great Bobble!

You should post some photos from farther back to see the whole setup you got going on. As I noticed earlier in your grow you had quite a bit of space between plants (vertically, in the same column) and I am curious to see how they are filling out. Regardless, I bet you are gonna have some good quality buds!

It happens when you've just had a nice harvest and you're inebriated 24/7... lol Life is better when you're high.

Very nice man, love the professional setup. Girls look great.

Thanks.

I skipped the room shots b/c I'm so disappointed with how the room looks right now... so much empty space. The space the plants are occupying hasn't changed, just the size of the buds.

Earlier in the thread I mentioned how the plant fills up it's roots with starch during the stretch to use for food in late flowering... and the effects of the root aphids are really showing now. I would say 1/3-1/2 the plants in the room have yellowing leaves and other signs of deficiency.

It won't be a terrible harvest... running the numbers in my head, I would say that the worst plants will still produce .5oz per plant... So given that nothing else goes wrong, I think I'm looking at 3-4lbs... or at least .75gpw... Which isn't anything to scoff at... but like my friend LL reminded me earlier (of my own advice), don't count your eggs before the chickens hatch.

Until it's cut/dry/bagged... well, it's nothing.

Next week I'll give you a room shot again.

Please tell me the aphids were a pre-existing condition...???

I would truly hate to think...

Too bad about the RA. Just one more thing to chalk up to the learning experience. I'm sure your next run will be solid, now that you've got everything dialed in and running smooth. Nugs still seem to be looking good despite though. I can't wait to see one of the pods filled to the brim! Keep the pests and bay, you know your shit. Luckily, I've never had to deal with the little buggers :moon:

Now let's get some casey rocking in the garden, and you'll be all set

Nope, they were pre-existing... My grow before this was messed up, but I chalked it off as pH and cal/mag issues... I didn't know what kind of problems the RA cause, so I didn't know what to look for. And then I just thought the purple skunks were slow... but the SD and the Grape Kush never took off either... so they got reinfected... It was awful. Everything in the veg tent gets treated now before it can become an issue again. We can't have these things bouncing back and forth, now can we? I haven't seen any dead flyers appearing anywhere for a few weeks now, so I think I'm clean...

oh boy... yeah, more bad news there... My House of Love test pack never made it. It's okay though, cause the kush lineup will be coming out soon enough... :D

The next crop is going to be Strawberry Diesel x Chem bx1, and I'm prolly going to have 2 racks of Ultimate Strawberry Diesel to see how they compare growth/yield wise... I came up short on the StrawDD clones, and USD grows similar, but faster I think...

there's something like 54 StrawDD clones, and more than 10 USD... And they have a 4 week veg ahead of them. Ready, set, GO!

shoot bobble, sorry to hear bout the probs.

I know Freds always advocated sm-90 with his grows as a systemic to prevent root related probs.

jw im thinking about adding hygrozyme or Sm90 to my lineup to increase nutrient absorption and prevent pathogens/bugs from taking over my coco..

keep killin' it dude, its all learning, next run will be even better :)

I'm familiar with the dangers involved with electric work, Never have i attempted anything with out a firm knowledge and or instructions to follow.

Thanks for all the words of caution everyone.

DHF said don't let it bite you in the ass, I Would rather be safe than sorry, I have plenty of time to build bigger. Ill start with 2 600's, If i don't rewire.

Excellent point, and very true...unless you get careless moving plants around and a few stems "accidentally" get bent over. Then you have "no choice" but to quick dry a bud or two for a smoke and let the remaining dry naturally. No cure, but a good, slightly premature, sample of what is soon to come.

I'm upset that you fell disappointed in the way your room looks. I would be ecstatic to have what you've got. You have by far one of the best, most unique setups that I personally have ever seen. I wish there was something I could do to help you fill out your room a little more! But sadly there little, or nothing that I can do. About the only thing I can do is tell you to look on the bright side...you will still have a successful harvest (note above quote) of some primo buds. Also you will have gained knowledge from your experience and use it on v6.0, or v5.1, whichever you choose. And not to mention you have inspired me (and I'm sure others as well) to give your design a try in the future. You've gotta feel good about that! lol

And just remember that what you have going for you in terms of skill, knowledge, and dedication is above most others. I have learned a lot from you and hope to continue to do so.

By the way I'm on day 59 of flower! Yippie! I will throw up some more photos on your thread (b/c I never started one of my own) as soon as I get the chance to snap some. And just so you know I am disappointed in my grow as well, so don't feel bad. This ridiculous heat is not helping one bit. I have A/C pumping into my room and I was unable to get the temps below 90 degrees F. Yeah, a bummer. this was due to my supplemental 400w (ballast and hood combined) It was basically a heater that was impossible to cool. So I unplugged it and that took care of the problems. So I just recently dropped from 1400w down to 1000w. It sucks but I needed the temps to be WAY lower since I'm nearing the end. The temps are down to about 82 at the hottest part and get down to about 70 when the gals are sleeping. I figured it would be more beneficial to have lower temps/less light than higher temps/more light. I don't have the energy or motivation (something you have a lot of) to convert my 400w hood/ballast into a remote ballast. I will do that later. Well, I've said too much about my grow, this thread is about you! Onward with the video games! I'm a nerd. lol

Peace

Yeah man, when electricity bites, it bites hard... Anyway, good luck to you!

Thanks for all the encouragement. That why I have that quote in my signature... I'm always dissatisfied, when really life is good, and I wouldn't trade places with anyone. Sometimes I just need a little reminder of it. I have high expectations of myself.

Good decision decreasing the light, it isn't of any benefit to the plants if it's causing them to be stressed out... Feel free to share your pictures anytime. Everybody loves to see pictures.
