315w CFL Cab Harvest Pics

Hi there one and all.

So after 3 years of growing in my greenhouse I've just harvested my first three plants from my first indoor grow. There are still 2 to harvest but they need a wee while longer yet.

I built the cab out of thick ply wood and bought 3 105w cfl lamps...one 6700k and 2 2700k. I use 6 pc fans...4 to exhaust from the side and two to blow across the bulbs at the top. There are holes drilled in the base for air intake. Building it like this means the top of the cab can still be used to put stuff on (in my case a scanner) and be at the same height as my computer desk. The exhausts push air out under my desk. There is considerable air movement across the plants and I have not encountered any mold issues yet. Infact I'm seriously impressed with the plants thus far!

Today I harvested 2 Apollo 11 F3's that were gifted to me in seed form and also a Grape Krush F2 that was also gifted to me. Still in the cab are 2 Calizahr girls foxtailing and gaining weight nicely.

Anyway...on with the pics!

Apollo 11 Plant 1

She actually was started a couple of weeks later than the others and flowered out in a very small pot...probably a litre at most...but I'm hoping for about 15-20 grams off her and she finished up really quick...smells of grapefruit and lemon...super frosty and a dream to grow. If I could be bothered (I can't) she would have worked great as a mother plant running this cab full of her clones in a sog style. Probably could grow 15 or so of them this size in square pots...that's 300 grams of bud...nearly a gram a watt...kind of!

She ended up being about 12 inches tall (including the pot)...so far I love this strain! Also a breeze to trim with minimal leaf matter. Flowered for 50 days.

Apollo 11 Plant 2

She was flowered longer about 60 days of 12/12. She was in a larger pot...about 2 litres and doubled in height...so much so she burnt slightly so I did a sneaky right angled supercrop on her and buy she really fattened up!

Again the smells a grapefruit and lemon...not quite as sparkly as her sister but the buds are really dense and pack some weight...she came in at 70grams wet.

Grape Krush F2

She started off brilliantly...packed on the weight super fast and exploded with trichomes after only 10 days 12/12! Trouble is she's heavily seeded...a sneaky hermie! :( BUT I don't mind because she did no damage to the other plants and stinks of rotten skunk with tropical fruityness too! Ultra sticky resin and seriously thick and strong leaves/stems! I will save some beans as It's possible I was wayward with my Chemdog 4D pollen...huh hmm...but if she's a pain to smoke...i'll bubble it all!

Flowered for 60 days. Stopped packing on any weight after about 25-30.

Here's a couple of shots of the cab...top right and middle are Calizahr...top left Grape Krush...front left and right A11's.

Any questions please fire away.

Temps were a constant 80 lights on. Painted with matt white inside. Total cost probably £150/$250.

:thank you: For your time

Nice! Tight buds for a cfl grow.

BTW I can't tell from your pic how your cfl's are hanging, but when messing around with my light meter I noticed the bottom of the cfl's are brighter than the sides.

Rock on!

Great job brother monk, keep on keeping !!

Nice CFL grow, really really nice.. The first Apollo looks great.

These PC fans are very noisy, maybe you could find a lil' RVK ? .. :ying:

Wow man, inspirational buds! The second pic from the top is mind blowing! You ever think of getting a HID light in there? A 250w HID bulb with a fan blowing on it wouldn't run any hotter than those CFLs

Seismic - Cheers for the support! I'm loving the cfl's!

Eol - Never thought of HID...with these I can control the spectrum and interchange easily...HID sounds a little scary...

LED however could be a goer...

Also...gonna look into breaking stems more often!

Some very nice results here, good job! :good:

CFL's and your 1st time, not too shabby! :D
You know I'm an Apollo man, look forward to your reaction to her.
That grapefruit will disappear, mark my words...'dis a sad thing.

You going to keep it going thru the summer, or back to the greenhouse?
What's to follow?

Keep up the good work! :tiphat:

Hehe, HIDs are not scary! Especially at the wattages we use - if you want to go for some epic yields but in a small cab like yours, HID is the way to go. I always recommend going vert, but that cab is the perfect size for a bare bulb vertical 250w scrog (scrogging would solve your "breaking stem" needs too). Done well you'd easily smash 1 g/w!

With regards to spectrum, MH for veg and HPS for flower is tried and trusted - or get a CMH which emits the whole spectrum =)

Something to think about anyway, here's a couple of micro HID vert threads that may give you some useful further info

and this thread about the benefits of vertical growing: https://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=127881 might be helpful too =)

Cheers

Highlighter - Gonna step back from the greenhouse...the Goldfingers last year really got out of hand! Plus the density i'm getting in my cab is, well, kinda addictive!
