Gimmie some of that Interesting weed donut man, how did she yield for ya if you don't mind me asking?
Great looking food. Aerohead has the definitive weed doughnut https://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=197502
And as an Aero gardener he might be able to help with some of the issues your walls are facing. That guy just knows his stuff check it out when you have a chance.

i can smell those dead roots from here!
o man what a bummer friend, just know there are thousands of us that share your pain.
(have you tried shaking your fists at the sky and screaming NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!)
if you have already done that, i can personally attest that a drench with IMID (in your vegging plants) bayer tree/shrub, greenlight, orthomax like bobbleheadsaid...will kill em dead.
after a fight with the rootaphids a few years ago, (i recycle my medium) i do a single weak imid treatment during the final 3-4 weeks of VEG. never had an issue since.
best of luck! and btw, your setup is still awesome.
Ganja man.. hydrosun and bobblehead....you da mans!! Im headed down to get me something now. Do you add ortho it to the reservoir with nutes ? or do you use plain water? Also how long do you leave it in the res?
heres a pic of a weed donut that i modified out of my flat aero systems and ran about a year ago.
I didnt know what i was doing and only yielded about 8 ounces from 10 plants. I figured it wasnt a good setup and scraped the idea. But after finding this site i think it just needed some dialing in (stretch, pruning) and the right strain.
I feed my plants DTW... But I added it to pH-ed water w/ nutes. I didn't see any signs of toxicity, just dead root aphids. Probably couldn't hurt to treat them 2-3x over the next couple weeks to make sure you really got them. The good news is Ortho MAX is only $20.
with this type of setup, a 100% chemical (no-organic) nute regimen is a must. a "dead res" is also a must. systemic use of h202 and/or bleach should be used at all times. treating the clones (not in flower) with IMID is also recommended. IMID stays in the plant for 45-60 days (depending on transpiration, environment, etc). it is much better to hit them with it when they are in a vegetative state or very early flower. it is systemic and the bugs die from eating the roots.
u see... when one plant gets sick or infested, the nature of the hydro system is to spread it all over other plants. bugs and disease are not as "dumb" as we think. they are very efficient in doing what they do. everything happens faster in hydo.
Thanks for sharing your past setup! Clearly you know what you're doing with aeroponics... You just hit a rough patch with these root aphids. Same happened to me. I thought I was having Cal/Mag deficiencies... That a perfect pH and cal/mag couldn't fix! lol
Waiting for the rebound... I know you're gonna blow us all away this time.
If you read back i started these in Canna (inorganic) and supplemented with h202. When problems started to show i first thought it was the canna (first time using it) so i switched back to my trusty organic botanicare. Only to find out that it was root aphids.
Ive always ran botanicare in my flat aero grows and never had any problems (except salt buildup and flushing more often)
But i did want to give the canna a try. Now that i found the cause being root aphids i think i will go back to experimenting with the canna if i can ever get to a harvest.
