If it's a 'hoarded' strain or cut, how can it be compared to others? Here in SoCal, we've been having a sort of 'clone wars' going on these last 15 years or so, crappy cuts get discarded and elite ones rise to the top. During that time, many less experienced growers tried to 'hoard' various things they thought were real special, with the predicted results; All were lost. Any grower with more than ten years or so experience should know that if any strain or cut is really worth it, it needs to go out in the world and compete with the other elites. If it hasn't been to the 'clone wars' it's probably not really that good. So, in my opinion, 'hoarded' = below standard (at least here in SoCal).

@ greengenes this is true in a sense, but many strains are hoarded because they are money makers for the growers. I give the example of the Black Grape Kush pheno i have seen in south oc only a tightnigt group of medical growers have it, they sell the flowers at clubs in LA and OC but the dispensaries always change the flower name to some popular/hyped strain. But it is always top shelf..........

what kinda effects did the misha have anyways? I checked out the thread and didn't she take upwards of 16 weeks (could have gone longer perhaps even?) with a low yield? it'd have to be the holy grail of potency, trippin' balls on acid status, for me to keep it.

the 20+week one was a sativa which appears to be a lowland oaxacan variety. that one was really speedy like you drank a whole pot of coffee... you wont be sleeping for a while.

misha smells like and tastes like cinnamon toast crunch, the effects are very narcotic yet speedy. like being in a trance, you're stuck but you have amazing closed eye visuals and you just zone out.

This is a crazy belief of fools as Mr. Greengeens already said. If you hoard the genetics are much more likely to disappear.

As far as I know top shelf in CA, CO, and elsewhere gets top shelf price. Don't really think one new latest or greats, or some 20 year old latest and greatest gets any more than top shelf price.

Hoard if you will but all I know is the community of growers who share knowledge and genetics will always be on the top shelf.

Of course its already been mentioned, but seriously OG is far and away the most hoarded strain out there. Even with the market flooded with ogs, people are still reluctant to give you a real cut of og so Ive been giving out as many cuts as I can spare to every grower I know personally in cali and texas to spite all you greedy fucks!

This is the Honeydew Headband cut

This is the Honeydew Headband cut

Its pretty close to OG, but has a bit more incense of a backbone. Still very lemon sugar cookie. I think this cut is a bit rare. It came from a Humboldt grower that sometimes calls it Sour Diesel. Its not tho. Its rock hard, super super strong headrush weed. Wonderful flavor. I share this with people that promise to not give it out.

This Plant is an OG Kush cross

This Plant is an OG Kush cross

OG Kush/ LA Afghani. I grew it from seed in 2009. It is one of my strongest plants. I share this only with friends that hold it to their chest like a good hand of cards.

One grower stashed a whole 2 pound plant of this for personal stash. He and his wife were fighting over who was smoking more, so they weighed it out and each got a pound to themselves.
Now when he wants sex, he rolls her a fat bomber out of his stash, and cooks her dinner to butter her up. She always falls for that one

Does anyone see cuts of the goo? Heard tales but never seen the real deal. What's up with that Humboldt Snow also? Can anyone vouch for how elite either of these strains are? Just curious.

Also want to point out there is a difference between rare and hoarded clones. The rockstar kush i think it's abusive og x lemon thai and the red stem piney romulan cut are hoarded pretty good here in BC, definitely a web of people with them but I don't think your gonna get those unless you are friends. Rene, polecat, and legit timewarp seem to be pretty rare.. not tightly guarded but hard to come by.

I have experiences and see people put stipulations on plants they give out like they asked that the product not be taken to market for various reasons I shouldn't get in to on here. It's not fun to have stuff like that it's it feels like a liability .. It would be nice to freely trade everything but people put in work to find or aquire certain plants so you gotta respect their wishes.

How do you have GSC seeds? and so many?

To find that many bagseeds of a run-of-the-mill sensitive cut you'd have to scour several pounds worth...

Just curious, as that's one I'd love to see more of.

Cheers

one of the guys who grows GSC seeded his whole crop with OG kush and had like 4 lbs of seeded buds. i dont think he did it on purpose, something about a male getting lost in there...but i suspect its all hermie pollen.

he gave my buddy the 4lbs for like 1600 each, my buddy then had a bunch of friends "deseed" the pounds in exchange for some free nugs. one of my friends brought over an LB one day and started working on de-seeding it.....i went through the seedbag and picked out a ton of the most viable looking ones. the rest of the seeds/weed went back to the buddy, and i have no idea what he diid with them...

the seeds produced some nice phenos, most were very OG dominant, but half of them hermied and pollinated what i grew, even with DM reverse....so i cant really work with her right now, i might pop a few in my special 150w flowering cab that can contain a pollen out break..

if anyone has ideas for stabilizing hermie seeds im all ears...just talking about this is tempting me to pop another dozen and try to find a non hermie cut....

Which available-for-sale seed strains do you think have the best potential to produce an "elite" clone if you run enough of them?

How to create an elite...

step 1: Live in a medical state.

step 2: Buy seeds and do some serious pheno hunting.

step 3: Get your best pheno and pass it around to a few friends and rename it.

step 4: Wait for it to catch like a wildfire..

OR

If you dont live in a medical state.. Pass it around to your locals and maybe get it into the hands of somebody in Cali /Co..

The End

lol
