Not knowing or caring about the issues is what keeps us polarized. Only in America do we have the most access to information...

and the dumbest electorate.

:yeahthats.......:wallbash: if only all the problems could only be rolled up in a neat little pile. the political pundits give you enough information to throw all the blame at the other sides feet and then leave you to stew in your own juices. it would be nice to be able to point the finger at them, but they are just spewing the sewage that 85% of the people have chosen to believe.

run a fact check on almost anything ANY of the major news networks run and you find out quickly that they are ALL full of shit. on a good day you get half the story and that is so twisted around you may as well ignore it.

the problem is we don't ignore it, most of us have embraced the stories they tell us and will actually parrot the disinformation without missing a beat. FYI folks 2+2 does not equal five no matter how many times you hear it (even if the reporter is pretty) and your willingness to keep listening and repeating what you hear IMHO 99.5% of what has gotten us where we are.

The Tea Party movement supported one candidate: Ron Paul. He was the only Presidential candidate who had the guts to say the Federal Reserve was corrupt and needed to be eliminated; he was the only candidate (with the exception of Dennis Kucinich) who said the war in Iraq was unnecessary and unconstitutional; he was the only candidate who sponsored the Sanctity of Life Act, which would recognize the right of the states to nullify Roe vs. Wade; he was the only Republican candidate to speak out against the USA Patriot Act, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), and other draconian police-state-type legislation and departments; and he was the only man from either party who had the guts to say the US should stop sending foreign aid to all countries–even Israel.

Ron Paul would be killed fast. He'd be another JFK! I wish him the best but I don't see it actually happening. I still believe the US will not change by way of the ballot. When everyone figures out that their vote means nothing then the people will revolt and change would eventually come.

Also if anyone could answer this question you could see how far down we are? How much money has the US given Israel? Why are we giving them billions of dollars every year? WHY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ANSWER THAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ron Paul has my vote. But I doubt that he will be allowed to win.

he was barely allowed in the presidential debates last round !!!!!!

does anyone remember what he had to say about the gold standard being bought back and that the federal reserve was a joke. obama AND mccain were both sitting there grinning at him like he was a fool. then the next day all the news was about ron paul wanting us to throw away our good american dollars and carry gold coins. another reasonable idea slaughtered by the media. if the man gets into office the machine will shatter him!

i think if he could do what he wants it could work but it won't be over night and they won't let him do it anyway. to make things work he will need the backing of everyone ( politicians, banks, unions and several other governments) and oh yeah, the people who are scratching their asses waiting for it to rain twenty dollar bills.

i respect the man for the most part but at this point i have to question the sanity of anyone who would actually want the job.

Read a news article last week that 20% of American income this past year came from, get this, THE GOVERNMENT. So if we took away those entitlements, household income would decline 20%. We've gone so far into becoming a nanny state, it's hard to say how we could ever get out of this mess. More and more, I think we're the modern Roman Empire and that it's soon going to be over. :(

No, I'm not....I don't want this thread to get binned. We should keep this in-line with Cannabis law reform. And to be totally honest here I am sick and tired of being treated as a second class citizen because I smoke pot. I am willing to vote for anybody that supports Cannabis legalization and regulation. Gary Johnson and Ron Paul are the only two guys out there that speak of this personal right. They both acknowledge that the war on drugs, especially the war on Cannabis is a waste of money and an invasion of constitutionally protected rights as citizens of the good ol USA. You post Paul's 'record' and what I see is a guy voting along the lines of the constitution. He was against the Patriot Act for starters.

Do I care about the economy? Health Care? Yeah but the war on cannabis hits me harder. I survive by my own means. And I am a survivor....I educated myself and secured a career...I don't need the governments health care and I don't need their welfare. What I need is not to be considered a criminal for growing a plant. Then I can worry about all the other crap.

For Real dude... Support Pot, You got my Vote... And if you read what Paul stands for, He doesn't sound crazy to me..At all.. Taking a stance on a thousand issues, of course you will not agree with everything, but 90% is Great!

I would love to see the GOP back him, But that would scare too many Big Corporations, Because he would have a real shot at Winning, and make no mistake about it, I AM, By Winning!

all of the above is true ....... but really, the job of the u.s. president has been corporate best friend / bitch for a very long time. no one is going to get out of it if they want to sit in that office. i would not say i lean to the right but like it or not whoever is going to fix this shit is going to have to make some very unpopular choices with the people and find a way to kick instead of kiss corporate ass.

or better said "hey rocky, watch me pull a rabbit out of a hat" .......

the collective of fuckheads who run this show have been running around with dads credit card like a 14 year old girl at the mall for 50+ years ....... what the hell is dad ( you and me) gonna do when he gets that call from the bank? answer ........ dad is gonna have to do what the fuck he is told ! and the 14 year old just can't understand why dad is being SOOO negative ..... and she will find a way to pull some more shit on dad because she does not even see that she did anything wrong, or better said she will continue to act like a 14 year old.

the system needs a change. sometimes the guy who is answering for all the fuck ups is not to blame.

Well Said RetroGrow!

Well Said RetroGrow!

It's scary how perverse our political system has become.
A poor man, like Abe Lincoln couldn't even run, let alone win.
An honest man couldn't win, because if he were truly honest, he would offend the sensibilities of the corporations who support him and keep him in power, while they are raping our lands.
Only the super rich are eligible, and only if they are sellouts!
The people don't seem outraged by it.
It's as if they've been anesthetized.

This post is dead on amigo. When people study history they will see that our country/empire is 100 percent like the end of the Roman Empire. Our entire government is full of wealthy pawns controlled by the richest 400 people in America.

At least Ron Paul might end wealth redistribution. It cracks me up how republicans bitch about redistributing wealth to the poor, and say it is wrong when for the last decade they have been massively redistributing it to the already billionaires through huge subsidies, tax brakes, and defense contracts. large corporations on average actually paid less percentage in taxes of their income than the quickly shrinking middle class.

There are only 3 ways this country can go now, which I give all about the same chance of happening.
1. civil war then many more years of depression afterwords
2. fade away and merge with other countries like rome.
3. actually get it's shit together.

I think it was on Howard Stern but I recently heard Jesse Ventura say the only way he would make a bid for the WH would be as Paul's VP. Ventura is a strong supporter of legalization.
Ron Paul ABSOLUTELY YES!

Jesse Ventura ABSOLUTELY NOT!

Jesse Ventura is one of the few people that could run on a ticket with Ron Paul and they'd both lose my vote as a result.

Yes, Ventura supports legalization, but he also thinks that 9/11 is a government conspiracy.

this is a bit misleading, yes Ron Paul believes in a proper free market, but that's not what we have now at all. now we have the fortune 500 lobbying to get money and stifle any potential competition. this is corruption not free market capitalism. RP believes in an even playing field for all business. no one is too big to fail, no one is allowed to have a monopoly on state contracts, no tax breaks for exporting production industry. yes on import dues and tariffs. if you study his idea of a healthy economic system you will see that it's totally logical.

he is a libertarian not a democrap or repulicrap. he's only running as a rep because the system is so biased against third party candidates they can't even get on all the ballots in all states. he knows that both parties are actually furthering the same agendas over all. specially the aggressive foreign policy agendas just keep on going no matter which puppet is in office. one has a more boorish style then the other, but both end up killing people on the other side of the planet for no real good reason.

Thank God, we have one person we can get behind besides the other assclowns who are running.

"Rep. Ron Paul, R-Texas, whose outspoken libertarian views and folksy style made him a cult hero during two previous presidential campaigns, will announce on Tuesday that he's going to try a third time.

Sources close to Paul, who is in his 12th term in the House, said he will unveil an exploratory presidential committee, a key step in gearing up for a White House race. He will also unveil the campaign’s leadership team in Iowa, where the first votes of the presidential election will be cast in caucuses next year.

Meet the GOP's Potential Candidates

Paul, 75, ran as the Libertarian Party candidate in 1988, finishing with less than one half a percent of the vote. After more than a decade as a Republican congressman, Paul gave it another shot in the 2008 presidential election, gaining attention for being the only Republican candidate calling for the end to the war in Iraq and for his “money bomb” fundraising strategy, which brought in millions of dollars from online donors in single-day pushes.

Paul took 10 percent of the vote in the Iowa caucuses and 8 percent in New Hampshire’s primary. He finished second, with 14 percent of the vote, in the Nevada caucuses, and eventually finished fourth in the Republican nominating process with 5.6 percent of the total vote. Paul’s campaign book, The Revolution: A Manifesto also reached No. 1 on The New York Times best-seller list in 2008.

This would seem to be an ideal year for Paul: Since the last election, the Republican Party has moved much closer to his view on deficit reduction, which made him an early tea party favorite. All of the party's top-tier presidential hopefuls are focusing on lowering debt, government spending, and tax rates, issues Paul has long advocated."

reluctant to say the cannabis issue is NOT the priority today.
wish it were as simple as that...but...this is what our once great country is facing...

enslavement to the money masters...no way in hell that our progeny will ever settle this debt other than outright refusal.

smoking or growing cannabis is rather trite when compared to this travesty.

IMO, it's straight and to the point. Ron Paul is an Ayn Rand disciple and believes markets regulate themselves.

Only problem, states can't inter-arbitrate. That's why they asked for federal arbitration in the 18th century.

IMO, Ron doesn't want a level playing field as much as he wants every man for himself.

this is a bit misleading, yes Ron Paul believes in a proper free market, but that's not what we have now at all. now we have the fortune 500 lobbying to get money and stifle any potential competition. this is corruption not free market capitalism. RP believes in an even playing field for all business. no one is too big to fail, no one is allowed to have a monopoly on state contracts, no tax breaks for exporting production industry. yes on import dues and tariffs. if you study his idea of a healthy economic system you will see that it's totally logical.

I concur.
This is not a free market economy. America hasn't had a free market in 100+ years. Let's get real. We are a centrally planned state. A corporatocracy. We have a central bank and a centrally planned economy. There is nothing capitalist about this system. To called the American economy capitalist or free market is just not true. Hasn't been for a long time.

Anyone who is against the Federal Reserve system has my vote. Only when the FED is destroyed will the kleptocracy be put out of business.

I'm not so sure that we are too little too late though. The DXY (US Dollar Index) is about to break it's all time 2008 low of ~71. There is no technical support once it breaches this. Anyone who follows markets knows that this means freefall until some support is found.

Ron Paul is the FED's worst enemy. Which means he is the corporatocracy's worst enemy. He is the corporations worst enemy because he will destroy their corporate welfware system and reinstall the free market economy.

You can regulate a free market economy. What you cannot regulate is a corporatocracy where bankers make the law and do not adhere to it.

On top of being the bankers worst enemy. He wants to end the perpetual war state and legalize drugs. Best option we have IMO. Everyone is right though. He would probably be assassinated just like JFK.

What Republicanism used to be.
:blowbubbles:
Any Libertarians out there be sure to contact your local Republican office and inquire about being able to vote in the Primary. Ron Paul ran under the Republican side as a Libertarian in the last election, but many registered libertarians were not allowed to vote in the Primary.
