Never heard this...

Durga Mata by Paradise Seeds is an NL#5 with a different name.

Durga is Shiva x Shiva

I thought I would bump this thread as it atleast tried to remain constructive while the newer thread imploded.

Some people out here still looking for good information on if the Old school NL#5 I available anywhere any more?

Does Shanti or anyone that runs NL#5xHaze cross still have an original clone or seeds from the original source in cold storage?

Lets try to keep this civil and productive.

You are right there is a original NL#5 cut out there, but Shanti doesnt have it.
There is also the original NL#5 x Haze mother alive.

I'm not sure it would be wise for me to post a link to another supplier, but Green Life seeds which is BCSC has NL5 here is the description:

Northern Lights #5

25 years of selective breeding. We have bred for vigorous growth, high yield, superb high, extremely frosted, and resinous appearance.

Flowering Time:

Indoors - 55-60 days

Outdoors - Oct. 5-10

I grew NL#5 from sensi seeds back about 1993-94 and I got my seeds from sensi themself when in adam and I got hermies with some of mine and thats why I stopped growing them, nice plant for a hermie though.

yeah sensi seeds are the original breeders of nl#5.
the nl#5 in there nl#5xhaze is still of the original nl#5 genes.but there nl (R) of some years ago IS deffo not nl#5,however it gives a collosal yield.

It is around, MNS is working with NL.
Also, I think a lot of people recall lost loves(strains) with an exaggerated idea of what they where. They build it up so much in there head that when they do get the real thing, it's just not the way they remembered it.
:two cents:

yes and also because your 'pallet' changes as you get older.especially if your a tobacco smoker.

nl5xhaze has the same 'umph' imo.

I grew postrionics nl/haze and skunk#1 as my first ever grow. The nl/haze was a beautiful smelling plant, and had it not been my first grow, and not knowing about stretch and what have you, she would of probably been amazing, but she grew too close to the light and i had to chop her early.

I've tried nl5/haze from sensi, and only got 1 to germ which was mutant, so cant bring myself to pay their prices again. Was looking at ghsc nl5/haze mist, or maybe just back to postrionics/kulu seeds. But id tather fem than regs, so probably gh.

This NL is a select BCSC female pollinated by a Dutch NL male, then inbred a few generations. I ran their NL, Northern Berry (NL x Blue Berry) and Blue Berry. All top shelf smoke.

got a nice one of these going myself. very vigorous, branchy, quick finishing up right now in mid fifties. good calyx to leaf ratio, super crystally, like welder dans flick, real nice fruit/funk nastyness too.

Jusd sifted through some of their skunk/nl it's nice also.
Been overall impressed with these varieties, espcially the great vigor, nice to get some good quality I'd run into a patch of bunk garbage for awhile before these

Hows their blueberry welder dan? Probably going to run it soon.

The BB was excellent. It had that Blueberry muffin smell in flower and it carried over into the cure as well. Cured buds had a nice BB aftertaste that lingered on the tongue and made you smack your lips. The buzz was mellow and floaty, very relaxing. It would get you very stoned if you imbibed a lot.

My friends drove me nuts for months after it was gone. More BB! More BB!

That's great that the blueberry taste carries over. Awesome taste is like the final frontier for me, Ive got everything down but great taste. I'm sold on these now...

Very underrated company. Excellent genetics at excellent prices. I lost the Northern Berry and BB moms to heat (I was an indoor newb at the time) and I still kick myself for losing that BB.

I agree very underrated for sure. Thinking about trying some of the purple kush crosses they have too.

About the original topic.
I'm suprised no one posted what neville has posted about the NL#5 cutting. and how the seeds made from it were fathered by a member of NL#2 (hindu kush) hence NL5x2. It might clarify some things.
Now I'm wondering if it was some of these left over 5x2 seeds that Shanti pulled his new northern lights from?
