Solids Autopot Adventure

I didnt have a problem with the roots growing into the valves. It was a possibility during flower, as i had forgotton to put the two matrix pads in place whe potting up. One goes in the bottom of the pot and stops any medium getting out but lets water through, and the other is a wire mesh kind of thing which sits in the tray and traps anything that might scrap through.

I didnt want to risk linking up the exo x nl to the res tank just incase i ended up with 47 litres of nutrient water over my growroom, so the 2 tangerine dreams will be the first to get the fullk treatment noe. I'll top water the exo x nl like i usually do.

looking good

I do have some veggies in autopots, so can't really compare to our more "sensitive" plants.. but I flood the tray, then add hydroton or perlite, and get it to a level where there is just some water above the perlite / hydroton. also for simplicity, and changeability, I use R/O fittings to connect each of the tubing, so if the tubing gets clogged some time, you can easily switch them out, as the tubing gets stuck to the fitting, and you have to cut at the tubing to get it off the connector, one thing I don't like about the system that I've changed.. I've heard of people using wider tubing but I think it's unnecessary as of right now that I've seen, as obviously the float valve only accepts 1/4 inch so.. you would have to switch it down when you got to the valve anyways... other then that I don't know about the autopots, obviously you can use any size reservoir you want, but your small system should work with the supplied tank

your 50/50 mix should be good, I have heard of I believe it was AU craven that said he did to much perlite one time, and the yield was better with more coco in the mix...

I will be watching this one, please update often, as I believe it's a good "lazy" system, and has alot of benefits for people, if they were used more.. thanks for making a post

have fun

Cheers fella. I'll definately e updating regulary. I allways run a diary and want tyo document this autopot grow, for the simple reason i foind it so hard to find a deatiled grow using autopots before i bought one. So id like this is to a unbiased view on how they do growing herb in coco/perlite.

Thanks for dropping in.

Nice fellas. My autopot plants are looking extremely healthy, really top notch. The tangerine dream#1 and 1 of the exo x nl's are ready to go into flower. But i want to get my last green posion out first and totally clean the tent, fit the new filter, and set the res tank up before i stick them in there. I'm sure they're gonna love it. The td#1 which i fimmed has grown 4 new shoots on 36 hours, i'm pretty impressed. But its about 15 inches now, and i think they6 stretch a tad, so i might have to top it once more before it goes in, and just use the top as another clone.

Course mate, more the merrier, and you shouldnt have to wait too long to see the results of the tangerine dream from seed.

TD#1 - the taller pheno gave me 2 more cuts and went into flower yesterday, as she was getting big.

I chopped the last green poison the day before, and bleached the tent out and cleaned everything. It's now ready for my new light which i'll be getting within the next month, and also an improved extraction system, plus an inlet tube thing they sell that spreads the air out equally round the tent.

In with the TD#1 is an exo x nl, just in a regular 10 litre pot, not an autopot like the TD#1.

I havnt setup the res yet, i'll be doing that once the other TD going in, with the two exo x nl, all in autopots. I supercropped the two exo x nl in veg, and they have taken well to it, starting to form a nice fat nub where i broke the phoxlem or whatever it is, and side growth has shot up.

Feed at the moment for all plants is just canna coco a+b and rhizotonic. EC 1.3, PH 5.8.

I'll post some pictures when the res tank is setup in a few days tme.

Cheers bud!

Love to see a pic of this inlet tube as I've been needing something for air intake 4 ages!

Good Luck matey!

It's going to be a long road buying it all. The light is first at £270, then a new rhino 150rvk and ducting, £156, fittings and fxtures to use my 125rvk for the light, plus more ducting. and then the inlet tube thing is around 20 quid, and the fan 27.99.

I had it all in my basket, and it was well over £650. So it will be a work in progress, with perfection the aim.

I've wanting to get a 100x100x200 secret jardin, or maybe a 120x120x200. I've a 100x100x200 budbox as the moment, but it doesnt have inlets/outlets for air-cooled lights, so will have to get new one soonish.

Is is possible to link up a 150rvk, a 125rvk on the same line, and draw the air through the filter, and then suck it through the air-cooled lights and out the tent? I was thinking of doing this until i get the new tent, but dont know if it will work. Thought using 2 rvks would help, have the 150 sucking through the filter, and the 125 sucking the air out the end if the air-cooled light. Rekon it will work getting rid of smell and heat from light?

Stuck all exo x nl and td#2 into flower tonight. It's looking nice in there. All have been watered, so dont really need the tank yet. Bit nervous about putting it up, never used one before, and i hope it all works properly, worried about fluctuating ph mostly.

So my veg room is empty now but for the propergator, hopefully getting some cuttings soon, so dont want to start anything, but get itchy fingers...lol.

Here's some pictures. Everything is in flower now. Cleaned out the tent lovely with bleach and shit the otherday. \Wish i had my new light, but i have to wait a few weeks. Nobody got any ideas about the air-cooling light linked to the filter using 2 fans either side, as i only have 1 large extraction outlet. The others are really tiny, like 50-75mm.

Anyway, here's a picture of 3 exo x nl , 1 in a normal pot and 2 in autopots. The 2 tangerine dreams are also in there in autopots.

Here is the more stock indi dom pheno of td, this is td#2.

picture.php

Now here is td#1 the taller, more vigourous and branchy pheno.

picture.php

Now a shot of one of the exo x nl in an autopot.

picture.php

Lastly a shot of the exo x nl in autopot and the one in a regular pot, and the td#2.

picture.php

All have been fed, so the i havnt setup the rest tank yet. Only the 2 tangerine dreams will be getting hooked up to the tank and getting the airstone treatment, as i forgot to put the matriz pads in the bottom of the pots when i potted up the exo x nl.

Got cuts of everything, but my son has all;ready wrecked shit, managed to sneak into my veg area and ripped up some rooted exo x nl cuts, so i aint amused.

looks like a nice setup man, so whats the tangerine dream like bro have you smoked any b4

No, my mate smoked it over the dam when it won the cup and said it was one of the best smokes of his life!, so like a bafoon i jumped straight in a bought a pack. Only start two of each strain then if they're decent i'll do the rest. Not sure about these. Heard great smoke reports about them, but heard awful germ reports (mine were fine thank god), so im not sure if its just the cutting they sell at barneys that is the really good smoke and the seeds are just going to be average and not really worked on enough to make them homogenous for that tangerine aroma.

We'll see though, had great plants from seedbanks with terrible reps before, so i will reserve judement until the end of flowering, to see if they do actually have any hint of sweetnesss at all, and whether to grow the rest of them, or try somne of the other dtuff i bought, or cuttings the clone fairy said would drop by.
